How Long Is Your Hair?

Not for a few months, but I'm already booked in to give my hair a decent chop. It needs it as I'd bleached the ends (twice! thank you fashion colour!) and it needs to go. About waist length, and every few years I get sick of it and get it cut anyway, but now have the added excuse of damaged ends.

Don't know if anyone experiences this, but with long hair you tend to have to 'mentally prepare' yourself when it's more than just a trim. I am prepared!

I have to for a trim, as they always take more than I want.

I've been trying to get away with only getting haircuts four times a year, because they're so expensive, which has definitely resulted in my hair remaining longer. I've also started dying my own hair at home to cover my grey hairs, which is a total game changer! I use this product called L'Oréal Magic Root Rescue 10 Minute Permanent Color, which is only $8. It only takes ten minutes to process, and a package has two applications. It does have a very unpleasant chemical smell, though.

Just out of curiously, how much are you'll paying for haircuts where you live? And do you tip on top of that? If so, how much? In fact, I think I'm going to post this in the Cost of Living thread too...

OK, I have questions!

Are you using different hairdressers each time?
How much more are they cutting off over what you requested?
In fairness I do tend to only go once a year, so my version of a trim is 1-2cm, however their version of a trim is more 5cm+

Same, I go once a year, sometimes twice if the ends are looking particularly bad. But you need to be firm with the hairdresser, and show them exactly how much you want cut off.

I just hacked off half of my hair. I was SO close to shaving the lot again, but managed to talk myself down. I still might take a few more inches off it, but it does tend to curl up so I will see how high it sits once it settles. It was so heavy and I was SO over it. I didnt realise just how long it got again. Its such a relief to my scalp to have it shorter again. I could go another 4 inches off. I am trying to make myself wait. Chopping my hair off might just be my favourite thing to do in my garden.

my barber at home cuts my hair about every 2/3 months, its short as a male had it also long( in my metal fase) short, very short, bald, white hair...lol
