I was just curious as to what various ages are represented here, and how long the members have been Whedon fans. At 68, I'm pretty sure that I'm the oldest member here, but we seem to be getting new members all the time, as new people discover the Buffyverse either through TV syndication, the new comics, or movies, so I just thought that it would be interesting to find out.

I saw the original movie, but didn't watch or become a fan of the original show until the Season 6 episode, "Once More With Feeling." From there, I saw both "Angel" on DVD, then "Serenity" in the theater, followed by "Firefly" on DVD.

I'm 29 and have been watching BtVS since I was 12-13yo. Me and my older sister used to watch in on the BBC after school at dinner time.

I remember seeing the movie when I was younger and enjoying that too. It was on channel 5 here A LOT.

Continued by watching Angel when that started here and found myself enjoying that a whole lot more - possibly because I had grown up a bit by then and appreciated the darker themes.

Most likely borrowed my sister's copy of Firefly when watching for the first time, and went to see Serenity at the cinema.

Yes the movie does have that very distinct middle of the afternoon/early sunday evening C5 vibe to it😀

I came to Buffy late. I am just the right age that I was in my late teens when it started airing, and I one of my friends at the time liked it. But maybe as a young guy at the time I dismissed it as just a "girlie show" or because I wasn't into Sci-Fi dismissed it as "too nerdy" and of course I now know that its far more than either of those labels🙂 Think then I would have seen the film on TV some years later, and at the time quite enjoyed it without the context of seeing the show. It was about five years ago that I started watching random episodes of the show on Sci-Fi, and then when the channel started showing them from the begining I watched it everyday. I got the first season on DVD I think Christmas 2011, and have been hooked pretty much since then. And having seen it a couple more times I think the film's pretty shit😀

I got round to watching Angel from start to finish about a year and an half ago now. I really like that show too. I prefer Buffy because to me its the more ambitious and subversive show, and is more consistent episode to episode. Still Angel has its own distinct identity (for the most part😉), and is great too. I still need to see Firefly all the way through, and recently started Dollhouse. I also love much of Whedon's film work, including his very much under valued Much Ado About Nothing.

I'm 31. BtVS started when I was a preteen. I was the right age to watch the show, but I was never into fantasy and vampires in particular, so I didn't watch it.

I got into BtVS in 2002, my first year in college, when my obsessed sister started printing Spander fanfiction to read. Sometimes I'd catch a scene here and there while my sister and cousin watched. The first episode I ever watched in full was The Zeppo - because it was a Xander episode and I was already into the character and the actor is hot 😀 - after that episode, I asked my sister for an angsty Xander fic and Sands of Times was the fic that got me into Spander and later into BtVS.

I think early 30s is the average age of Buffy fans now. I'm 30, and grew up watching Buffy and Angel as it aired. I can't imagine what it would be like to watch it for the first time in my 30s, it really has an impact in your teens.

Not going to say my exact age, but I'm younger than the majority of the people on BB.

I knew about Buffy back when it was originally airing, but I was too young to watch it back then...

I first got into Buffy about 2 years ago back in 2014.
Some of my opinions on the show have changed since then and as soon as I finish Firefly, I'm starting a Buffyverse rewatch from beginning to end 😀.

By the time I found this place, I lost all hopes to find a fansite where people normally say 'I agree to disagree' instead of attacking someone with opinions that conflict theirs.

I'm 34 (aka early 30s 😉) and I started watching Buffy when I was 17, watched it on and off throughout the years and then last year I did a proper rewatch and I just fell in love all over again, but in a different way.

Buffy transcends age for me. I watched Angel a bit later on (I remember having the theme song as a polyphonic ringtone.... whoooooooooo?!) and I was always more of a Buffy fan than an Angel fan.

I only started watching Firefly in 2014, man I kicked myself so hard that I'd not watched it earlier. I watched Serenity before I watched Firefly too, because I'm a noob at life, clearly. 🙄😀

I'd say that I'm among the oldest but I know we got a few that's older than me. To start with, my parents are younger than white avenger but with that said I myself could be a parent to not only the youngest members.

I noticed Buffy due to it being on tv when I came home from work and it was the only thing watchable at the time. I just wanted some time to relax in front of the tv once I came home. I don't know exactly when I started to consider myself a fan but probably not before I rewatched the early seasons. Might have been between season 3 and 4. Once I became a fan watching Angel seemed a given but I didn't do that before I bought the dvd's. Firefly was recommended to me by an online friend that sent me the episodes. It took me about 4 episodes to get hooked but after watching it a second time it became my favourite Whedon show. I've seen the Buffy movie but to be honest it doesn't do anything for me.

I was 19 when I saw the movie in the theater and loved it. Saw it a few times actually. It was kinda the right movie at the right time.

The countdown to the big 3-0 is on for me. I saw some of the show as it aired as a freshman/sophomore in high school and liked it enough but didn't get around to watching the whole thing until it was on Netflix. After I finished the series I had BTVS dreams for a few nights...I found BB shortly after.

31, and I've been watching the show since it first started airing in the UK on BBC2, so I think I must have been about 12 or 13.

I feel like a kid amongst you guys! I'm 23, got into Buffy when I was 12ish.

I feel like a kid all the time. I never want to grow up! :-D
I'm 22 and discovered the Whedonverse when I was about 15 or 16. I liked How I Met Your Mother and started watching BtVS because of Alyson Hannigan. I've never seen the film.

I've just turnt 19, but I've been a fan since I was 5,but I thought Buffy was Daphne back then, so not sure if that counts lol

Go ahead, make a guy feel really ancient. Next thing, somebody's gonna ask me how cold it was that winter at Valley Forge...

It could be worse. As Glory said in Intervention:

GLORY
It's not Bob Barker, you scabby
morons! The Key is new to this
world and Bob Barker is as old as grit.

So if you are not as old as Bob Barker, you're young. And in danger from Glory.
