I kind of struggled with the questions about religion the most as I'm atheist and there was nothing to select for that.

Yeah, I'm pretty sure if you are even taking a quiz like this the answer is YES!
I ended up getting the same thing. 36 out of 100. Interesting quiz though, lot of questions. Yea I'm not religious so I guess I've never had a problem with other people judging me or hating me for it. I just don't surround myself with judgy people.

I dont think they are defining 'privileged' correctly.
I got a 41/100

This quiz was pretty flawed though, there was a good amount of questions, but a few that also didn't really relate to the topic (do I find myself attractive? So a super hot white millionaire model might find herself ugly and that means she's not privileged?). So I'm gay, all the gay shit that was on there applied to me. But I'm also white, live in Canada, have food and water on my table. Not to diminish LGBT issues, and there is a certain amount of privileges associated with being straight, but it's not the worst thing in the world to be, at least not where I'm from. I'm been called all kind of names, I've witnessed homophobia, I've been discriminated against for being French (a minority where I'm from), I grew up below Canadian's poverty line, but I'm still incredibly privileged compared to many, many, many people. Seems like the quiz focuses on simple big issues and forget about other issues altogether. I know it's just a silly quiz, but I should have scored much higher than I did.
 
46 out of 100. Not privileged. Though I question the method of determination, A privilege is something that can be granted, denied, earned or revoked. Race and sexual orientation are accidents of birth, and being harassed for either is a condition of location, which is a matter of either choice or incarceration, not subject to any of those criteria.
 
Yeah the checklist isn't the best way to determine privilege. I was interested in how different people's results would be.
Like, surely here, the royal family would be seen as privileged (don't even get me started on the monarchy) if they had taken the quiz, but then so would a straight, non-religious, middle class man with a decent income. But both are not the same.

I get that. I just mean the results would be the same based on the quiz, but there's a difference in privilege. The middle class white man isn't able to use laws to protect himself from investigation or prosecution, for example.

I don't know much about the monarchy, so I'm not sure how this would work, but are there really special laws for them nowadays? I guess the point is more that a white middle class man would usually be properly prosecuted, whereas for example black people are usually prosecuted more harshly for the same crimes (I'd have to find the statistics on this, but I remember reading the study on this.

I'm not sure about the results at all because the questions were really not friendly to a foreigner. There were a lot of negations in there!

That said, some points are interested. I would say that I'm quite privileged, objectively, considering how and where I was raised but the questions about identities were on point sometimes!
But as some of you, I couldn't find myself in any of the questions concerning religions, which biased the results. Because being an atheist in the schools I attended and around the people I grew up with wasn't really easy. Sometimes you're not accepted because of your beliefs. Sometimes because of your so-called lack of beliefs...

No, we're agreed on that. I was just using an example of how the quiz is flawed, like you said.

In certain parts of the world black people are definitely not only prosecuted more harshly, but targeted too. Whether they are wealthy, or religious, gay or straight.

And yeah, sadly that is true here of the monarchy. Which is clearly unfair if they are breaking laws.

But with that qualifier, (In certain parts of the world) the same thing could be said about any race, religion, or sexual orientation. Different places favor different life styles.

Unfortunately yes the monarchy is a national disgrace. Members of parliament have to swear an oath to them just to get into the building regardless of them being elected by the public. Royals have vetoing rights over legislation. I believe that there are plans to exempt their spending of our money from freedom of information requests. Royal land holding is astronomical. Anyway rant over, roll on the revolution.

You had a lot of challenges to overcome simply to get on a level playing field with most people in the world. Sorry - I call bullshit on this one. This is a complete test of popular sentiment. Being a POC or non-hetero are seen as underprivileged but very little attention is spent on physical and mental disabilities, mental illness, child abuse, religion, extreme poverty, foster care, and drug addicted parents.

One of my fosterlings, Brandon - a white straight male - would be considered privileged despite the fact that at 5 years old he was frying corn flakes for his 3 years old brother - abandoned and left to parent once again for days while his father used smack and his mother used meth. He was put into foster care and separated from all his siblings in other homes. When he was 15 his 16 year old sister killed herself, leaving a 3 year old daughter behind - and his foster parents kicked him out because they couldn't understand why this upset him. He was called out of class, told to go home and put all his possessions in a garbage bag and be waiting to be taken to an unknown location because the foster parents he had lived with for 10 years wanted him gone. That meant being in a group home with strict regulations and a case worker who made him 'drop' 90 times in 3 months because he was trying to get out of the system. I was with him through all of this, and nothing here is exaggerated.

That's what I hate about this whole privilege issue - it's not externals that make us privileged.One of my kids is very gender fluid and had to deal with some crap in high school. I jut made sure she had positive role models from all sexualities. So she would have rated as far less privileged than Brandon, but there is no way in hell she would switch with him. My nephew is black, but being schizophrenic and bipolar have far more effect on his life. This isn't a test of privilege, it's a test of popular notions of privilege that are mainly skin deep.

Like a lot of other Buzzfeed quizzes, this quiz is just a stupid piece of crap 😛
 
27/100 though I have to say that I felt a lot of the questions were rather one note. One should always learn to recognize ones own priviliges, because most of us have some, but that does not mean that one is wholly priviliged in general.
But then, it's a Buzzfeed quiz. It's a 100 questions. It's bound to be both limited as well as biased.
