How was your day? - Part 5

Went to the British Car Day held at Bronte Park in Oakville ON Canada. It is the largest meet of its kind with 1,006 British cars being exhibited. It has been held on the third Sunday of September every year and it is very un-British in one sense - it has never rained.

The frost killed my plants 🙁🙁😱😳🙁🙁😡

My international chat mates laugh at my definition of cold, while the aussies are like OMG THE FROST GIANTS ARE HERE!!!!

I am over winter now, especially because its spring. I will have to get over my aversion to clothing next winter, and possibly get into a fire routine. I think the big logs i was delivered and unable to use, was one of those "new in town" troll things. It'll be another 20 years til Im considered local, everyones related 😂

Its hilarious to watch the kids here, my car looks like an old undercover cop car (not under the hood) and they all get off and walk their bikes when they see me coming. Its illegal to ride a bike without a helmet. The cops must be so bored to have the kids trained like that. Lol

Any piccies @Ethan Reigns ?

My mind went to a happy place today,
to the happiest of days of the once great Drogyn house.
To the thread that was set in the village around the castle of Pervonia, in the land where the perverts of Drogyn lived. That time was just right for all included as there was 72 posts in just one day. So much was said that it became very close to Drogyn losing most of the dorm members for being not family friendly.
It'll never be repeated (and maybe that's a good thing) though it gives me many happy memories.

Pinky don't look like a Jag, the perfect car to nick. Re-spray British Racing Green a new number plate and you'd never see it again.

Odd really, you spend upwards of a $100,000 to do the car to its original condition then stick on an ugly as sin number plate on it. Thick as a brick Dept. of Transport.
Now where did I put the buckets to throw up in, that pink Jag is ugly. (looks like a Mazda MX 3 or 5)

This is more a "how was ya weekend" post. Spring time in full bloom here. Its a long weekend, start of spring holidays, its warm and glorious and every event in the state happens this week. I logged on with a monday mornin beer (wait, it is monday right?) And now im all pissy cos I read pissy posts. Inequality running through my mind. But at the other end of the scale.

So i got all dressed up, even wore make up, went out and had a blast dancing under the fireworks among the flowers. A couple weeks back i went overboard on pain meds, the minus temps had me sorer than i could manage, and this week, when I've put the facepaint on, I've been treated like royalty. Its tiring. I went to the shop to get chips and they insisted on making NEW chips and fresh gravy, even though there was plenty in the heated display. I had to wait for ages for fresh chips and the place was packed with farm kids so I just wanted to get in and out, what a drag! The pub is always lovely but they insist on fresh glasses and top up my ice, give me freebies when i have the face on. Wtf did I do on the pain drugs? Its like suddenly I'm OTT loved when winter I was an ugly bent bogan... Spins my head!

I was out drinking with a cross dresser who cant get work. I wandered to the beer garden and sat with some farmers on about how they cant get workers but wont accept peeps without references. Less than an hour sitting with them and I was offered work. I aint got no references, just a pretty face. I told them i was christian and couldnt hack the shearing sheds (that run on meth, cigarettes and swearing). That put a spanner in their works cos they assumed my shaved head made me gay.

Springtime smells are amazing. I snorted a flower and triggered some light hayfever but it might be a good thing to clear out all the family germs from my head. The boom boom bloom thing attracted city crowds but they were all gone by the time the fireworks started and it was just incest on the oval.

I keep thinking i could go party on the coast, but uni kids will be home in force and yeah nah not worth the effort. The beaches will be packed with tourists and the roads blocked for drink/drug testing. I am sitting near my fountain now, pondering todays jobs, planning some eggcellant meal and letting the internet drain my brain. So lovely in the sunshine.

You said you was offered work and that was because you have just a pretty face, is your face nearly pretty or not quite lovely to look at?
I still havent started today. Full moon meant sleep wasnt great. A 5 am text from a mate who'd pee'd herself and blames her unborn child woke me, far too early. Seems people think I'm missing out since I choose to remain childfree, and free of experiencing the crap that comes with it, so they make a point of telling me. *Must not keep the toxic phone on the bedroom! *

I gotta trek out at some stage, find food for rabbits 80km away, maybe even buy food for me if its not grot rot. Seems too cold after the delights of yesterday and the weekend. Pants are overrated, sarongs are WAY better dancing material. I miss my leg hair more than my head hair.

My brother paid me $50 to go to the DMV for him. He paid for a round-trip Lyft as well. There was one line for people without appointments (suckers!) and another for the blessed (like moi) who had an appointment. So. Many. People. Thank GOD I had an appointment!!! All in all, it took about 90 minutes. There was so negativity. Anyone who tried to jump the queue was promptly told off by others. It was a jungle. Some of the people who didn't have an appointment had been waiting for hours.

Today has been very chilled. Abbs finished a bit earlier as her school has an open evening tonight. Now we have Pizza on it's way!! Nomnoms (hopefully)!

It's been nearly ten years since I got into extreme metal...I was looking at my old MySpace page, and the memories flooded my mind. And to think, I only got into it because I had "immigrant" neighbours next door; three families in a two bedroom, with five small kids who screamed constantly. And the day that will live in infamy: I came home one afternoon, and there were roughly 30-40 illegals all over the patio, drinking beer and blasting ranchera music. You could hear it a block away. It was crazy.

The manager wouldn't do anything, and THAT was the day I put away my headphones. I went to Best Buy and bought Slayer and Cannibal Corpse cds. When I returned, there was still a massive amount of people all over the patio, and they were REALLY loud...that ranchera music will make you want to punch someone! 😂 But man, when I turned my music on and cranked it, things got quieter. Those people were using a cheap cd player, while I had a Sony system with mega bass and a dedicated subwoofer. I never realised just how loud it was, because I'd always used headphones before. 😈 So, this was the first time I used music to be intentionally annoying. It was a small apartment building, so the bass shook the walls. I really didn't WANT to do that, but I had to send a message. And it worked. The ranchera music was switched off, and the people vacated the patio. It was a beautiful moment. *sniffles*

This has been going on longer than you think. There is an article in the fall 1960 Radio-TV Experimenter giving complete plans for a 75-watt amplifier called the Leasebreaker. Back then, 75 watts was a lot and it still is with tube equipment. Tube watts somehow always seem to be the equivalent of about five solid state watts. I have a 15-watt radio from 1937 (when tubes were the only game in town) and it is too loud to listen to at close range. Things rattle all over the house when I turn it up.

Leasebreaker? Great name! 😅

That's the sort of equipment which would rattle my actual house. We've had a few earthquakes in the area lately... what country are you in @Amber Bunny Slippers? 😵

I had a lazy day and it was wonderful! I slept in til midday cos it was cold, let the chooks out, went for a walk, got lunch from the café - which remind me NEVER to do again... a sandwich, a coffee milk drink and a powerade came to $24 … I wonder if she was just pissed cos she was working Grand Final day when her team were playing. Anyway had lunch, finally decided on some humour show to put on while I cleaned the kitchen and brushed malting bunnies and swept the floor. I made a new bunny castle and dubbed it The Bronze, and drew a little sign for them, which Anya was chewing on within 40 minutes. Sat on chat for a bit, did a whole lot of drawing, enough to run the textas out, nearly got 4 days out of them! Haha. Did some dusk gardening, putting that wetter stuff out to try and keep the rain in the soil then locked the chooks up. Ate chips and binge watched the last half of outlander s3.

I'm in America...and the more I think about it, the more I'm determined to move back overseas. Then again, this could be one of my mood swings; because if, God forbid, there's another world war, I definitely want to be HERE...this country has a wicked nuclear arsenal, and I want to be on the winning side. However, Australia and Scandinavia tempting places to live. 😆

America has one major drawback, where even a normal missile could bring all of America to its knees, Yellowstone National Park. America does has a massive nuclear arsenal much to big to use though as it could destroy the world five times.
When I was just a kid my older brother had a friend who was building a 100 watt amplifier with glass valves, it was huge.

One band I followed was the Joys. They had an Ampeg SVT (Super Valve Technology) tube amplifier that was 225 watts. It weighed 35 kg / 77 lbs. When their first bass player left the band, they owed him some money, so they gave him the amplifier in trade. It had six output tubes in push-pull parallel and massive power and output transformers.

Busy day. Got my annual dues paid for the Professional Engineers of Ontario, deposited some money, renewed the dog license, picked up food and a prescription. Then assisted in making dinner tonight and this was a long bit of prep work (and I got all the prep dishes cleaned up). How did I ever find time to work before I retired?

I have just been out watering the garden and trimming grass with hedge trimmers. It was so much fun! I had an eskimo joe song stuck in my head and trimming things while dancing was glorious. I am very tired now haha. My hips and back certainly got loosened up.

I forgot to filter the water before going outside so I am waiting for that to happen so I can get a glass of water. My greenhouse smells like a swimming pool.
