How was your day today?

There are autism bots on twitter. I knew there were political bots, but didnt expect this. I saw similar/the same "metldowns = cognitive decline" tweets in the last 4 days never having seen them before (insta gives me lots of autistic goats and dogs but twitter has only started this week). Sent me into a bit of an existential crisis again.

Cos the symptoms the NDIS is funding - things like support workers for socialisation and cleaning, meals and shopping preparation, supported employment, lifts to clubs and functions, weekly psychology/paid friendship etc etc are all things that religion used to cater to (and still does in my case as I don't have autism and cant get the NDIS). Now religion is in decline and the government is filling the gap. Spinning my head a bit.

Walkies was lovely with the poodle. She was so excellent. Didnt react to anything, not the other big happy lab, not the kids on bikes, not the line of men on mobility aids. Its a very bright day outside. Very spring like. The flowers are in full bloom. I might go see the horses later. Gona cuddle bunnies and puppies now.

Something I bought over a year ago has saved my bacon. I went looking for phone chargers and I got the normal charger plus a wireless charger. With the latter, you simply plug it in and place the phone on top of it and it charges, albeit at about half the rate of the wired charger.

I am in the habit of carrying my phone in the same pocket as dog cookies when I walk the dog and when the dog cookie bag split at the bottom, cookie dust went everywhere including the charger port. After a while, there was no effect from plugging in the charger even after I cleaned the cookie dust out. I can still charge the phone wirelessly but not using the wired adapter. For $15, I saved my Samsung Galaxy phone that I don't want to replace.

Tremendous day today! There was a potluck party for one of the girls in the Latin dance circuit who turned 65 of July 29th. My girlfriend's birthday is July 30th and mine is July 31st but she invited about 30 of us to her cottage on Lake Simcoe with all of us bringing potluck. We brought mashed potatoes, multigrain rolls, fried chicken and homemade fruit cake. As it turns out, one of the people in our group knew my girlfriend from living in the same building on Markham Road and one of my girlfriend's sons was her marijuana supplier. Small world!

Those who braved the water said that it was warm and went back in.

A number of us danced since there was a player with a stash of bachata songs. Dancing on an uneven lawn makes you appreciate a level dance floor.

Woke up with a headache but it went away as the day went on 🙂 Lit the fire cos its actually cold. No walkies for the dogs cos they dont even want to go out in the rain to pee.

I made a meal early in the day and ran a serve to my neighbour and had a cuppa with him and a humongous fat dog he was minding. Then got a knock on the door from a lady up the road who found out I like horses, so she took me up to see her mini pony. Hes so cute! Like a little teddy bear. It was too cold to take his tiny rug off, but soon it will be spring and she said I can brush him. Soon I will return to my natural state, covered in dirt and horse hair 😁

Loving Marilyn Manson's new music so far especially Raise the Red Flag!! Awesomeness so far imo.

In other boring news I've ordered a new cooker which gets here Monday!

Just sort of...existing! I wish I had something exciting to report, but sadly I do not.

Unfortunately I saw the user profile of someone that I'm really trying to forget about elsewhere the other day. All the bad memories they caused just came flying back. I like to think that one day they won't exist anymore in my memory banks.

I was listening to a podcast on the way up to the horses and got really annoyed with it. It was on mental health and from someone who has all the education but none of the experience. Going on about behavioral activation again. A big part of depression is the anhedonia. There is no pleasure in finishing a project, no sense of satisfaction, just annoyance that it drained energy. This dude was saying "just do the thing and you get the happies!" Not true! After cooking or cleaning I feel like crap. Especially after cleaning. I get no joy from seeing a clean space at all. Mess or clean doesn't affect my mood in the slightest. I get more depressed when all I do is cleaning. I am usually completely wrecked after cleaning and hate that such a basic life task is so hard.

On the other hand, shoveling horse shit, which was not a required task for any reason today, made me happy. Now I am home again and grumpy. Cos home is all cooking cleaning and caring work. Its not nearly as fun as picking up poop and playing with ponies. Even the dogs are annoying me cos all they want to do is cuddle and all I want to do is dig in the dirt in the garden. Just waiting for Xander to finish his feed and then I am going outside again!

This week I went to a rave party, then, the next day, to the birthday party of a girlfriend's friend.

Yesterday was a festivity day in my country (festivity of the "Annunciation of Mary"), I went to a nearby lake with another friend and his girlfriend for one day. I swam in the lake for roughly 2 hours.

Tonight I meet a group of friends at a bar for some drinks since one of them has been chosen by a professional soccer team (he is young, he is 20). At the end, he went away with the girl of the bar......... xd

Im in a real bad mood today haha. Just waiting for my lunch to cook now after chatting to an old lady who stopped me when I was on walkies with the dogs. She just stopped her car in the middle of the road and called me over to chat to her. I hate doing that. For one, I have to stand in the middle of the road with a heavy dog in my arms hurting my back so she can get her chats in. I should have just pretended i didnt hear her and kept walking. I must remember to do that next time cos it was a terrible chat anyway. She told me I should have eaten my rabbit instead of taking him to the vet. Like oh haha never heard that one before. Some people here do not care for their pets, she told me she never took her cats to the vet their whole (short) lives. I shouldn't be so surprised, there is some real scum in this town. Just because they are old doesn't mean they have outgrown their scummy nature.

Got out of town today. It was MUCH needed haha. Especially after Black Caviars death and reading all the ridiculous comments from people who have never even been near a horse. Horses are extremely intelligent. Putting a smart horse out to pasture is cruel. Keeping them in work, either breeding or enrichment through riding is the best thing for their mental health. Smart horses doing nothing in paddocks get bored and depressed and hurt themselves. Its not nice. People are dumb if they think having no work or purpose is the more fun option...

Anyway. City is growing at an insane place. The rapid growth of the new estates make my tiny town almost an outer suburb! I cant believe the huge changes happening. Just so many people. It does make me appreciate my home a whole lot more, but I do need to get out of it a bit more like I did today. It was nice to drive through the yellow canola and visit shops and get maccas for lunch. Its nice to know I am well stocked again. Makes me feel safe.

The dogs have been far too clingy because I left them at home. Hopefully I can get them both out for long walkies tomorrow. The one downside to the long drive is my back getting all locked up. I need to stretch out, not have dogs on my lap!

Reorganized my home today, which was a brilliant idea 😂

I joke but it looks much better than before, and I get to show off all of my cool collected things

Smoke alarm went off at 3.47am. I HATE when that happens. I was dreaming I was swimming at the beach and it was a shark alarm...

After I stopped freaking out, I frantically googled it because my last smoke alarm did this at random intervals until I smashed it to pieces with a broom. I knew it wasnt the battery. But this time, google suggested it might be because the air temperature got too low. It was the first night in a while that I didnt have the heater on in the lounge room. So now that gives me even more reason to keep the heater on! It is still winter after all.

Today was active for me. Walked early with the dogs. Then spent a lot of time playing around my pond and watching my new fish. I put some new mature pond plants in and set up some pots with the aquaponic gravel in. Havent seeded anything but now its all in place. The fish are tiny tiny babies and I want them to get a bit bigger and settled before I muck with it too much. My makeshift waterfall worked great!

Went up to see the horses at sunset. Its so pretty with the yellow canola under the big sky and pretty ponies on the green in the middle of it all. The bottom of the training track is flooded so I hiked across the middle and down to the jumps I have been working on. The grass is getting super long so I dont think I will be doing that again. Starting to look a bit too snakey, especially with all the water around. I'll wait for the track to dry out and stick to that.

Made some kangaroo mince pinwheels for dinner which came out perfectly, so worth the effort. Well, it wasnt much effort, which is probably why I enjoyed them so much. Easy dinners are best dinners. Now giving Xander his bedtime biscuits and hoping I actually get to sleep earlier tonight instead of scrolling til 11pm and then waking up early with a fright.

High humidity can also affect smoke alarms.
It's supposed to be REALLY hot today, so I hand washed the truck super early to miss the heat. But I didn't factor in the humidity. I began sweating the minute I went outside. Yet I was determined to wash that truck! Had my bucket of soapy water and everything, so there was no going back. 😄 I was out there for 45 minutes, and didn't care if I looked like a drowned rat with smeared lip gloss.

The truck looks AMAZING, by the way.

Should have used a waterless wash. They great. Lot easier and quicker.

What?! I didn't even know there was such a thing! I'm definitely going to look into that.
this is what I use

Its more for spot cleaning... but cleaned the sides and tailgate three times and only used half a bottle. You just need some microfiber towels. Spray it on, wait a few seconds and wipe. It does a really good job. Can probably get maybe 6 car 'washes' for less than the price of one. Especially when you don't need a 'full' car wash.

Prolly takes 5 minutes or less. Honestly, the stuff is great, and well worth it.
