How was your day today?

I've done nothing today just rested. Should have done more than nothing but oh well, dinner is in the oven now!

It is a bank holiday after all!

Let us ignore the fact that I did my housework today...

More organization/cleaning around this house. This time it was the bedroom. Moved around my computer setup so my back isn’t to the door, and NO, it’s not because I have a tendency to watch a lot of spooky videos late at night and get creeped out, how dare you insinuate that 😤

Now, if you watch those creepy films in the late evening - you can remember them just as you are/ were falling to sleep

What's this organization thing I keep hearing about? I have heard about cleaning but it sounds like it's not for me.

A local library was cleaning out unused material and giving the books away for free today. Whatever didn’t get picked was getting pitched apparently. Mostly a lot of material you’d sort of expect to see go unused (a lot of outdated historical text or teen-focused books), but I did manage to find a few things definitely worth grabbing.

• The Poe Reader (a hardcover collection of Edgar Allen Poe’s works)
• The Complete Works of William Shakespeare
• The Iliad and The Odyssey (both books illustrated as well)
• Congo by Crichton
• Ender’s Game

It’s nice to get some fun books most of the time, but I also like it when I’m able to further fill out my library with more essential reading. Plus, it puts them in a good home instead of the dumpster.

Discovered why one of the old ladies who keeps stopping me in the street to chat has been so keen on me the last few weeks - her son just got divorced and she wanted to set me up with him. I told her Im perfectly capable of being poor on my own and am only interested in men who are rich and she hasnt contacted me since. This is why I am wary of sudden new friends, there is always a motive.

“I’m perfectly capable of being poor on my own” 😂
My friend is going into hospital soon for major surgery and she set up one of those blended playlists on Spotify. It's currently at 11 hours of the most random songs from every genre! It's got everything from the Muppets to Otis Reading and Linkin Park!

What would your answer be if he was a horse breeder?

That's lovely 💕
OK, Sam, the guy who got me into Latin dancing, finally got a permit for the coming dance on Friday at Lakefront Promenade. With the taxes and everything else on the permit, the price out the door was $220. But it gives us some rights. We have the use of the place all day and we can kick squatters off the area. We can play amplified music, which was the restriction that got us shut down. And Sam is going to have wristbands for attendees and charge $5 to enter and dance and he says he is going to have security as well, so he breaks even at 44 people plus whatever the extra is for wristbands and security. We normally have about 150 people there and he is going to give the excess money to Maria (who teaches the class at the beginning) and the DJ.

The city is desperate for money due to some ill-advised expenditures and we have all the signs of it like photo radar for our "safety".

If someone complains again, they will be able to look up the permit and see that amplified music is allowed and we will have our 200 watt portable amplifier cranked.

Apple picking season. Got a bunch from my aunt’s tree, now making apple sauce.

So far the apple, blackberry, honey combo is the biggest hit! Lovely a pink too. My friend’s kid loved it

does TaakeSause export?
@Skanky Vamp well, it’d sure clean up space in the freezer. I’ve still got applesauce from last year! I over estimate how much I need, just cause it is fun to make. I never actually really eat apple sauce

Yeah, I dont much care for the sauce of apples, but that apple, blackberry honey combo sounds the bomb

Yeah I dont usually make sauce, but might try a caramelised apple one this year.
I got seven tablets of codeine from my doctor this morning, which will DEFINITELY help with the ongoing mouth pain. He was super concerned about the abscessed teeth, saying that the infection could go down to my jawbone....and then I'd be uber boned. But there's nothing I can do without dental insurance, and I can't afford to pay cash at the moment.

Imagine someone who already has a filthy temper (and mood swings) being in continual pain. It takes A LOT more control to appear "normal" in public, believe me.

However, the gods took pity on me. Right after I got home, an acquaintance (a nurse) GAVE me five oxycodone tablets. 😳 I'd already taken five codeine, but that didn't stop me from taking two of the oxys.

Is there a dental school near you? They may do the work for cut cost for the practice.

That looks PAINFUL, pretty but painful!! 😬

My day was great. Played guitar for our local Senior Centers weekly Sing Along! We had a lot of people, standing room only.

They were dancing in the aisle!

Actually it was the easiest one so far!
Woke up expecting to see nice caramelised onions, no I saw it all as I left it as I didn't switch the slow cooker on. I'd put it all ready, just had to turn it on at the plug before bed, and that was it. I forgot. So now it's going to be on all day instead.

Yesterday evening I went to a buffet-style Chinese food place. You could sit down to eat (screw that!) or have it wrapped to go.

I was choosing my food when I suddenly heard raised voices...a woman was holding a plate of food and one of the employees was trying to block her from leaving. Then she tried to grab the woman's food. I don't know if the woman hadn't paid or what, but it got bad enough for me to finally step in. I told the employee there was no need for her to grab the plate of food from the woman, and I'D pay for the meal. I also told her she was OUT OF LINE because it pissed me off!

There was absolutely no need for that crap. Everyone else in the place had their phones out, laughing and recording the poor woman. The whole situation nearly brought tears to my eyes. Jesus, what a bunch of animals. People can really SUCK.

That was very kind of you!
Slowly getting into a new rhythm without the manbun of the house. Anya misses him but we are doing our best to keep her company. The fish are keeping me busy. The pond is slowly clearing. Sinker jumped clean out of the water! Show off. Like a tiny shark. They are mesmerizing to watch while I do my weights.

Walked up to the horses this arvo. Cheeky colt got in with the girls again. We put him back in his own paddock. I made friends with the nasty mare and then her owner gave me a lift home because it started to rain.

Word is, the pub is sold. It will be interesting to see who takes it over. Gotta be a certain type of person to run a pub like that. But I will be sad to see the owners go, they are good people.

Sorry to hear your bunny died!
The Friday dance was a success with 175 people showing up at the outdoor venue. At $5 admission, that's $875 collected with $220 going for the permit, $70 going for the wristbands, $100 each to Maria, the dance instructor and the DJ and the remaining $385 got donated to Sick Children's Hospital. Sam, who arranged all of this, did not keep a cent of profit.

Since we were down by Lake Ontario beside a yacht club harbour, there were a lot of insects and my usual cologne (either Blue North, Submerge or Guess) is going to be changed to Deep Woods Off. I met a few new people, had a good time and love the dance nights. I will miss the Wednesday and Friday dance nights next week as me and my girlfriend are going north to Muskoka (cottage country) for three days.
