How was your day today?

Oh my God!!! An hour ago I heard the girls next door fighting...one of them screamed, "I'll effing kill you!!" Then I heard a bloodcurdling scream....and realised shit just got real. Three minutes later, there was a horrible shriek like someone was really being hurt. It sounded like someone was thrown up against our common wall. I finally called security because it was really, really awful. Ten minutes after security showed up, three LAPD cruisers appeared. And when that many cops respond, you know things are bad!

I told them what I'd heard, and all six of them went over there. Me and the security guy were just hanging outside because we're nosy. 😄 Cops were over there for about 20 minutes. The whole thing was funny to me because I really hate those girls. And considering all the complaints they've made about my music/cigarette smoke, I got a good laugh about the situation. 😈

Went to brush the mini horses today. So much hair! Like furry teddy bears. That old lady is far too trusting though. She took photos on her ipad and then GAVE me her ipad to keep overnight so I can look at the photos. I tried to refuse but she was parked diagonally across a t junction and wanted her to move on quickly so I accepted it. She has her finger over the lens in every photo.

Im going out tomorrow morning cos she looked very sore, so I will do the poo pick for her. And bring one of my good brushes. Shes been sold all this fancy stuff from the shops yet didn't have a curry comb.

Mowed the lawn when I got home. Its going to have to be a weekly job again. The stupid mower cuts out every time it hit longer grass. And all the grass is long. Its done now though so will just keep on top of it now.

The fish are still looking good. Doubled in size! But I do need to get on and get the rest of the work done on that pond as soon as I can.

My sister somewhat goofed and needed my help to know how to buy me something for my upcoming birthday, so I ended up getting my gift from her & her boyfriend early. Can’t complain!

Those girls next door are trying to keep a low profile after yesterday's police visit. I hear them creeping around, since we share a common bedroom wall. They're obviously embarrassed about six cops rushing over there, demanding that they open the door. The entire neighbourhood witnessed it. That police visit will never NOT be funny to me. Sometimes, the Universe gives you.a gift. 😄

Took the poodle walkies and saw one of the oldies got their gopher scooter stuck on the highway. The back wheels were wedged off the gound in the drain while trying to go up the ramp to the path. A few huge road trains came rumbling past but luckily moved to the middle of the highway to give her room. The cops were in the cafe 50m away. The handyman was in there too. I was 500m away with a reactive toy poodle and I still got to her faster! Silly old goose wouldn't get out of the thing and I couldn't push her up the ramp in it, so it took a few minutes for her to realize I was telling her to get off because I'm not that strong, even without a poodle under one arm. Finally I got her standing and pushed the thing off the road. She said she had been waiting for the police to help her. They still hadn't got out of the cafe, she would be waiting all day. I just told her to hop on before it rolled back on to the highway again. Very sore now, put my back out. Don't think I will be going to see the horses again this week 🙁

Ate way too much butter chicken for dinner, so I hope I sleep well with a full tummy at least. Its suddenly cold again and the heater is just lovely.

I got my hands on some oxycodone yesterday, and I'm so pleased. But they won't last long, that's for sure. 🥳

I want to go back to dance class but I don’t want to talk to anyone anymore or make small talk. It’s tiring.

Too tired to do anything today. Pretty much spent the whole day after walkies convincing myself that I dont need chinese takeaway. Im still trying to convince myself that I dont need it.

Resistance is futile!
Reddit is really really bad. Sucks the life of of me. I got stuck on it the last few days and it's dragged me to the depths of dumb. I miss forums.

Every time I had a fish pond question, a forum post from 2005 had the answer. Now it's all dumbed down for upvotes. The group think is worse than I ever thought possible. Scary.

Watching the paraequestrian today. Sorta makes me sad watching the blind rider. Reminds me of a kid I used to teach. She was blind from a brain tumor and I used to call her rides like this. Unfortunately she passed away by the time she was 10 years old. I remember the day she told us she was going to die. It was heartbreaking, I still remember the sound of her cry. She rode until she couldn't anymore. Such a happy kid on horseback.

The dogs are pestering me for walkies now. I better obey!

It's currently 71°and it's 2am. 🥵 We hit a heat record yesterday...I can't even DESCRIBE what a miserable day it was. So hot it was hard to breathe. And its not over yet.

Sounds awful!! But the guy in the ad above with his tool 'sporran' is making me laugh.
Just spent Wednesday to Friday on a vacation with my girlfriend. We went up north to the Muskoka area, the main cottage country destination. She had never been there. We went up to Huntsville where we dropped CDN$150 at Three Guys and a Stove, one of the best restaurants in the province and possibly the world. We drove to Dwight then down to Dorset, which is one of the prettiest drives anywhere with winding turns and forest on both sides of us. As you go further east, the terrain gets more like a roller coaster. We then went through Baysville and Bracebridge and into the area around Lake Muskoka, a large lake that is the ideal spot for a lot of people. We continued northwest through Port Sandfield and north to Rosseau then back along the highway towards Huntsville again. Several years ago on this road, I saw a group of four guys and a woman at the side of the road waiting for their transportation to come. No mistaking the woman. Nobody else looks like Goldie Hawn and that was her, a bit more tanned and leathery than she appears in public and she has a home up on Lake Rosseau.

The next day in sporadic rain, we took a short 122 km trip north to North Bay on the east side of Lake Nipissing, a place close enough to the Quebec border that most people are bilingual French and English. The food there is good - even pub food is a cut above what you get further south. We then went to Parry Sound on Georgian Bay, part of Lake Huron, then we came back to Toronto. Say what you want about the French, they take their food seriously.

At the hotel where we stayed in Huntsville, we were across the hall from a frail old man who used a rolling walker, the kind with the brakes on each handlebar. I talked to him the next morning and it appears he had a nice life until he bought a duplex where he lived on one side and his son and daughter-in-law lived on the other side. For some reason, they got a restraining order on him and kicked him out of the house and called the cops on him when he tried to call his wife. Obviously not for violence, he was barely able to stand up. He had no car, so he couldn't get to his bank to get money out so he had pulled out $5000 and stayed at the $125 per night hotel we were at. That lasted him a month and he was going to have to leave soon. I did catch on to the dementia he was suffering. Why is it that there are women's shelters everywhere but no men's shelters? It is the same in Canada as the US, where there are thousands of women's shelters and two men's shelters. He said he was quite willing to walk into the woods and freeze to death in the winter there because there was nothing else he could do.

There was one minor maintenance issue at the hotel that was amusing - the screen for our window had been popped off and was lying on the lawn. You could not only open the window, you could climb out! We were on the ground floor and we could see the screen lying on the lawn. I had the night manager come by and put it back in.

The trip was a success - my girlfriend had never been north of Casino Rama, about 100 km north of Toronto and she got to see cottage country for the first time.

Sounds fun!
I was outside most of the day playing with fire. Got a lot of gardening done. Preparing for the incoming headache haha.

My dogs are not inside dogs! They were begging to go back inside. I did let them in on their own when the smoke got bad but besides that I had to really encourage them to stay out lol.

Hopefully back on track this week.

Dashed out to get groceries. I can't even BEGIN to describe how hot it is. 🥵 Now I'm indoors, hiding from the sun like a vampire.

This. Is. Awful.
