How Was Your Day?

So my hair is roughly waist length now
Which means really nothing as we do not know your height for point of reference. You might be a midget-like 4 foot something, so hair down to your waist ain't that big deal. Or you might be some over six foot beast where it would be more impressive.

@nightshade so basically...

It was more to explain why my hair was freaking me out, but im 5ft5
Its like when I let the hairs grow out on my legs, when they blow in the wind, I freak out thinking spiders are crawling up them.

If you think you have excess hair, there are organizations that allow you to donate long hair in order to make wigs for people with cancer. I used to work with a project manager who had hair down to the small of her back and she was 5'11", so that was a lot. I asked her about having long hair and she said, "Mine's not the longest. We have a girl out back who has hair past her pelvis and she has to pick up her hair and put it in her lap in order to sit down."

In other news, my garage sale hunting paid off today. The latch on the front door jammed and wouldn't let me open it. I really didn't want to spend the $200 to $250 for anew entrance latch but I remember having had a bucket of spare parts for doors that I had picked up at a garage sale. I found one complete entranceway kit with door latch and lock that I got for $10 at a garage sale. I used the latch but I couldn't use the separate deadbolt lock because I didn't have the keys for it. I tried to retrofit the old lock but the mechanism had changed enough that I couldn't use the old deadbolt lock assembly in the new deadbolt, so I put the old one back on. So now I have a nickel latch and a brass deadbolt, but new deadbolts are cheap.

I picked up a microwave over for $35 at a garage sale a few years back and I am patiently waiting for this one to fail so I can use the new one. The new (to me) one is sitting in the garage.

I've done that a few times for gishwhes. it doesn't have to be crazy long to donate, I cant remember exactly but I think its like 14 inches. I sent mine to wigs4kids in Michigan as they seem to be more in need than any in Australia were. Wigs in Australia are big money!

My hair is way too heavy to have long. Once it gets to my shoulders now, my neck feels it. It used to be very long when I was a kid and I just didn't realize I was allowed to cut it. Shaving my head was so freeing, I was wearing a full rug on my head! My hair is much thinner now, a lot fell out when i had the mirena, but its still to heavy to have too long.

I've opened up the front of the house this morning. The sun was out and its not too cold, so its nice to have fresh air through the place. Already done a bunch of tree chopping and whippersnipped til the cord ran out. Was so thristy when I was done but the tap water tastes salty again blugh. I can feel the sand in my teeth.

Yep, done it before. Depends on the charity but usually they want at least 10-12inches.

Chopped and cooked up my last pumpkin. Took a chunk to the neighbour who gave me 3 chokos! He was really impressed with my pumpkin cos im usually so bad at growing things haha.

The day seemed to fly by. All those online puzzles make time disappear. Looked at a bit of real estate in the city deciding what i'd buy if I won lotto. Did some bible study, chatting online and more chopping of kindling.

Took my phone walkies with Harmony. I never take my phone. All of my photos are terrible haha. Lilah is asleep on my leg now so that I cant get up and leave her again.

Had to get 4 new tires, front end alignment, and front brake pads on my car!!!! Plus I sent most of the day re-staining the drawer fronts of my kitchen cabinets and installing new door hinges and handles. ......and there' more to come!

A very tiering day for sure!🥱

Got locked out after craft group, not sure why I didn't double check I had my keys but of course the one time I didn't check was the time I forgot them. Battery was on 5% and I only have an emergency email address thankfully she saw it, but asked would I prefer to wait until tomorrow to pick up the keys as there's an out of office call out fee. Umm no,I want my bed tonight so I got the keys and have a £20 fee to pay.

Eep!
I ordered two pairs of jeans from Amazon, and they sent them one at a time, with one pair here and the other not arriving for three days. I fail to see how this is more cost-effective for them!

After my battle with the front door latch that finally made it functional, I worked on the upstairs bathroom door latch. This had become difficult to turn due to corrosion, so I blasted it with WD-40 and put it back together. Now it is as smooth as a new one and it reduces the probability of being caught in the bathroom with a seized door handle that cannot be fixed unless there is a Philips screwdriver on the inside because that is the side the screws go through.

Guess I'll join in on the 'Hair' talk.
In my younger days I used to have my hair halfway down my back & it was jet black in those days too (Bit of grey crept in now).
These days it's just below the collar most of the time......I have it cut once a year 😀

Back on topic.
We had some torrential rain this afternoon & one of the downpipes on the gutters of Watcher Towers decided it couldn't cope any more & came apart.
I would have left it till later, but it was directing torrents of water towards one of the windows.....
Long story short....standing on a ladder in the pouring rain trying to rebuild a gutter is not exactly how I expected to spend a Friday afternoon! 😒🌧️🌧️🌧️
To say I got a tad wet is somewhat of an understatement........

Everything is frozen! The air feels so fresh, the tap water is SO cold! Its so lovely. Im used have having to let the tap run its hot water out before its cool enough to touch, now is like ice water right away 😃 thankfully not frozen like the garden tho. One of those days I feel like toast and eggs for breakfast because they are warm. But I dont have any toast. Or eggs.

@ delivery drivers...

That makes twice in as many days where they dropped my food/package at wrong address.
Luckily my package was just next door, even though both addresses are clearly marked! 😏

I've had the same UPS driver for over 10+ years now. So there's never any mix up's in my world!......Well at least with the UPS deliveries anyway. With the rest of my life....not so much!!!😋

The pipes froze up at the pub! Haha. Mine didn't.

My leg is so sore today. To the point that i booked back in with the physio. I duno what else i can do about it. Hurts the same if i go walkies or not, so we will still go walkies today. The dogs don't want to get out of bed yet though and I dont blame them. Gotta get up soon for the meeting anyway. .
I am all stocked up on groceries to make apple and choko pie and make potato and choko mash. I have some leeks ready in the garden so might make potato choko and leek soup too.

But for breakfast I want chips and ham and eggs and cheese. I love eating every day 😍
