How Was Your Day?

Soon.

I swear to God, I thought today was Tuesday
That ain't nothing. I get my registration in the mail yesterday and I saw the sticker said 25 on it. I was freaking thinking that I did two years registration. It took me awhile before I realized this was Feb 2024 and not Feb 2023

I'm still driving around with 2021 tags and no insurance. Riding dirty because I can't afford registration and insurance at the moment. Dodging cops is stressful. 😄

it's only illegal if you get caught 😂
When I went out to the truck a couple of hours ago, I immediately noticed that ALL of the doors were unlocked....and two of them were ajar. I always triple check that everything is locked when I get home, so, somebody got into the truck last night. That's never happened before. There's nothing of value inside, so nothing was taken. It just REALLY pissed me off that someone did this. Reported it to security. (Also, from now on I'll be checking on the truck a few times a night. With a baseball bat)

I honestly wonder if a neighbour did this. Maybe not, but you never know. Hmmm.

My car doesn't lock anymore haha. It got broken into so much when I lived in the city. I wouldn't know if anyone went through it now. The good thing is - no one wants CD's or CD player anymore! Thats the only thing of value I leave in there. I read about people leaving booby traps and things like powerade bottles filled with pee in their cars so they would be stolen.

I was going to go to town today but then ate way too much for breaky and then didnt want to move for 4 hours. Luckily the dogs got their walk before breakfast! Cleaned the bunnies pen instead.

So far so good but I've done a silly thing and will either get friend zoned later, ignored or have a lot to think about lol!!!
Getting housework done as a distraction!! It's needed anyway as got friends round for my birthday on Monday.

You can't do that here, because the person would probably come back to smash all of your windows and/or set the vehicle on fire. Things are pretty bad here in California, believe me. People get arrested for crimes, then immediately released. It's beyond insane.

Aww that sucks. I know people who time their sentence for the seasons. They used to put people in jail for not paying fines here, so they'd stay out of the systems until they were in need of food and shelter and then go in. I think the authorities have stopped letting people pay off their fines like that more recently. Theres been a huge surge in crime with all the cost of living stuff.

Now there are big arguments about if air conditioning is a human right and if it should be in youth prisons. I think thats just making jail more attractive, considering most social housing and low income families dont have air con.

I must go to town today. Gotta walk the dogs first, but I really gotta get out of the house (without them) for a few hours. I am going to look at new mattresses. I have always hated my mattress. The decider will be if they deliver out here!

I have a tow ball on my car and have hired a trailer for other furniture, but the petrol costs to return the trailer will make it on par with the $120 max delivery fee (if it is that). Plus my car turns 20 years old this year and I need it to last another 4 if I buy a new mattress!

Im not homesick for the city anymore. I had been daydreaming about living closer to convenience and a pool, but then this news came out - How worried should I be about cryptosporidiosis? Am I safe at the pool?
Gross. People are gross.

And then today one of the roads was closed and traffic was diverted past the city pool there. Its not a big pool and there were school busses parked in the carpark. It must have been PACKED inside. Hundreds of people, at least, for a single 50m pool. I duno why they dont build these rec centres for the *expected* population rather than playing catch up.

Just seems to get busier every time I go. They've released more land for building houses on, stupid sized lots. Too small for livestock, too big for anything but lawn (1 hectare). I dont know how the inner city roads are expected to keep up with the traffic, cos they cant right now!

Bring on the delivery drones! Then I will be less upset when my car inevitably carks it.

God, I hate LA. I'm not financially able to move anywhere else at the moment, but when I get ahold of some real money, I AM OUT OF HERE! So many places around the city look like a third world country now. Old motorhomes lined up on streets, with garbage everywhere....tent cities in parks, under freeways overpasses, alleys, just everywhere. It's a horrible situation. What makes it worse is the rampant crime. Lots of people running into shops, markets, etc, and grabbing loads of things, then just walking out. No one ever tries to stop them because if what they steal is under $1000, it's a misdemeanor and the cops don't really bother with it. And the employees of the businesses don't want to risk getting injured, which I completely understand. This idiotic "no bail" ordinance DEFINITELY encourages crime.

Oh God, get me out of this cesspool of a city!!!
