Oh my god, it was purely awesome!
I was afraid and didn't really want to see the movie because the 6th was a shame, a scandal because it sucked so much.
I thought 'right, they are doing this in two movies so that they get twice more money of it".
I'm actually happy they made it that way. Those two first hours were a blast.
It respected the book. They didn't try to emphasize just one side of the story. Fun, drama, laugh, cry, scare...I felt all of it.
The actors acted way better than usual. I don't say they are usually bad, but I was truly impressed this time.
I was afraid some events were left behind, like Dumbledore's funeral or the big final fight of the 6th movie (I mean, come on, not showing Dumbledore's funeral so there would be more place for romance and putting a fight when there isn't supposed to be and to shorten the end, with Snape who says he is the Half-Blood Prince? Really scandalous).
In this one, most things are shown.
Some scene were even better than in the book. I'm thinking about Harry and Ron's fight. It gives me the chills, way more than in the book. Some great acting from Dan and Rupert.
The action never stops, you never get bored, but it's not a "we put action in every scene to be more like a blockbuster" kind of non-stop action. It was really well done.
Even tough I knew the story and knew what was going to happen, I was tense and scared at times.
There are beautiful scenes of friendship. The movie is much more mature than the others and brings the saga to a whole new level. It's more violent (poor Hermione at the end :/). It shows the paranoid and racist climat of war. You feel more 'in danger' with this war than with a whedonverse apocalypse are even a Middle-Earth war. Voldemort's war is like World War Two. He is like Hitler and muggle are chased and extermined like Jews. That must be why it seems much more real to me. You see Evil taking on everything, Hogwart, the Ministery...Every assault brings you closer to having to make a choice: save your ass and join Voldemort or fight, knowing that the Resistance grows thinner while the Domination grows always stronger. Spies are everywhere. You can't runaway. You can be snatched anytime, killed, in a trial anytime because you are 'not worthy enough'. You got to hold on to small things not to despair completly.
Really, this got to be the best Harry Potter movie EVER. I didn't feel like passively watching it. I felt like living it. Living the characters dilemna, troubles, pain.
I even want to see it once again!

I thought it was fantastic. I think I'll have to go see it again to be able to write a coherent review, but I really did enjoy it.
It had a completely different feel from the other films, being away from Hogwarts, but that really gave it a sense of finality, a sense of doom and gloom. I thought all the actors did a fantastic job - especially Emma Watson and I've never been a fan of her eyebrow acting in the previous films.
Spectacular locations - did anyone else think that this film just looked amazing? With the wide, sweeping shots of open locations and scenery. Just fantastic.
I personally loved that scene - and this is coming from a person who hated the idea of Harry/Hermione back when I was involved in the Harry Potter fandom. I thought it showed the beauty of their platonic friendship wonderfully.

Yesyesyes! It showed how much Harry cared for Hermione and what good friends they were, and also showed everyone (because if there ever was a moment that they'd hook up that was it) that they didn't have romantic feelings for each other.

Yes! the landscape was awesome. I really liked the locations they used.
I loved the Harry/Hermione dance scene too. It made me giggle a little, but I think it showed their friendship wonderfully.
I really loved it. It was absolutely everything I imagined when I was reading it. I loved all of the locations when they were camping, the subtle humour that demonstrated how much they just had to try and make as much of the situation as possible and just how beautifully they portrayed the whole situation.
There were some horribly dark scenes but perfect for showing the true nature of the story. All of the actors were amazing and thankfully some of the things that make me cringe, like Harry being angry but really obviously gritting his teeth lol, were missing!
I could go on and on but I'm supposed to be doing work. Roll on July! 😀

Oh my god I loved it. I've seen it twice and can't wait to go back for more.
MAJOR SPOILERS FOR THOSE WHO HAVE NOT SEEN THE FILM & ESPECIALLY THOSE THAT HAVE NOT READ THE BOOKS.

Good things:
- Luna and her dad dancing at the wedding. Pure genuis.
- The fight scene with Harry and Hagrid on the bike - not true to the book but what an amazing scene if you just take it for what it was.
- George catching Harry and Ginny kissing, and then sticking the toothbrush in his ear.
- The acting when they infiltrate the ministry.
- Bathilda Bagshot & Nagini - I could never quite picture the snake "coming out of her" when I read the books, but I thought it was done perfectly in the film.
- Ron leaving scene. And the whole "just keep telling her about the little ball of light touching your heart".
- "Dobby did not mean to kill. Dobby just meant to maim or seriously injure."
- Speaking of Dobby, who couldn't cry at his death scene?
- The Horcrux-locket-VoldemortHarry&Hermione (because Emma Watson almost naked, yesyesyes. I am shallow, I know).
- Dobby pushing Kreacher out of the way when they bring Mundungus back.
- Hermione wiping her parent's memories. I welled up at that bit!
- The seven potters.
Bad things -
- Not showing the monument to the Potters (that muggles see as a war memorial). Also, not showing the messages that had been left on the sign.
- Not explaining the trace that was on Voldemorts name (would've taken like 2 seconds to do and explained why the death eaters showed up the exact timeXephenious? Mr Lovegood said "Voldemort".
- No "Potterwatch".
- Wormtails silver hand doesn't kill him. I really hope they don't do a showdown between Lupin and Wormtail in the final battle in PtII because although it would be awesome (what with silver being fatal to werewolves etc) it wasn't in the book and they need to stick close to it, IMHO.
- No Dean/Ted Tonks/Griphook in the forest.
- No Kreacher's tale/Harry giving Kreacher the locket/Kreacher cooking & cleaning properly.
- Harry finding the letter Lily wrote to Sirius and the picture of him on the broom.

Yay Harry Potter thread! I'll put this up here so.
So like I was saying I've been pretty disappointed in the past cause the films never seem to live up to my imagination, or Rowlings for that matter. Suffice to say I was slightly apprehensive as I cradled my popcorn and the lights went out. But against all odds I thoroughly enjoyed the film and there was little disappointment to be had. So yay!!! Ok parts of the film like the previously mentioned Harry/Hermione stuff, Harmione if you will I call a radical interpretation of the text, but heck it was still alot of fun to watch.
Now while I doubted Daniel's abilities to pull of the depth of emotion required for Harry I was pleasantly surprised to discover Daniel Radcliffe the comic! Debuting in the multiple Potters scene. His depiction of a Harry-ified Fleur exclaiming "don't look at me, I'm hideous" while attempting to conceal her modesty (or rather Harry's) was frickin' hilarious. Ok a cross-dressing Harry would have been funny regardless but his mannerisms were so perfectly effeminate it was disturbingly convincing .
I loved loved the Tale of the Three Brothers. The shadow theatre animation was so beautifully done and it was a welcome release from the more tense parts of the film. .
My only problem with the film was the usual exclusions
At the end of the last film I was so disappointed that they didn't include Dumbledore's funeral and I was really hoping they would at the start of this one but alas no. But I get that they can't include everything. I just found that whole chapter so moving in the book...but I guess I love it so much maybe I would have, inevitably, been disappointed with it's execution.
I also was sad to see they left out the rather touching goodbye scene with Dudley at the start of the book. When Harry explains to Dedalus and Hestia that the Dursleys think he is a waste of space and Dudley pipes up that this is not his view and admits to Harry: "you saved my life". He even manages a goodbye to all those years of seeming hatred. .
But those little things aside I really enjoyed the film. Ok I still don't feel Emma, Daniel and Rupert are the strongest thespians out there but they've vastly improved and they are supported by such a stellar cast. Notably Ralph Fiennes and Helena Bonham Carter who have out done themselves yet again. Voldemort and Bellatrix are as horrifying as ever and even more disturbing. Particularly the scene with Bellatrix torturing poor Hermione in Malfoy Manor, that was difficult to watch.
Overall my favourite so far, thumbs up

Great movie, a lot better than the last.
I almost cried when Dobby died and the owl. Not guna lie.
The only problem(s) I have with the movie are how the good guys defend themselves. Ok, the bad guys are trying to light you on fire, kill you, stab you with knives, etc etc etc...and all you use is the disarm or float away spell. They tryin to kiiiiiiiiiiiiiiillllllll yyyyooooooooouuuuuuuuu and all you wana do is float them away? It wouldn't be goin down like that if I was HP lol

The movie was okay. But to be honest, I thought not enough things happened. Too much talking in the middle of the movie. Also didn't expect it to end like it did. 🙁 I'd give it 7/10 or 7.5/10. I'm hoping for the last part to bring all the good stuffs.

And I cried so much when Dobby died!!! I've never cried so much for a fictional character. Now I've cried for him both in the book AND the movie. His speech about being a free elf and wanting to save Harry Potter...It was so SAD!!! 🙁 🙁 🙁 Why couldn't have Ron died instead? Just kidding. 😀

I'm gonna use spoiler tags on the book parts that didn't appear in the film.
I loved it. Not sure if it's the best HP film because I love Order of Phoenix as well. But Half-blood Prince is definitely not good. But this is different, both the book and the film. Of course it is. They're not in Hogwarts anymore. I love that it's so so mature.
I cried my eyes out since the scene with Hermione and her parents. It's so sad both in the book and in the film. I was never a Emma Watson fan until now. She's so good in this. I wish we got to see Dudley's scene, though.
The seven Harries scene - You gotta love Fleur and Daniel acting. He's so convincing and ummmmm, shirtless Daniels. (sw) I love how Fleur!Harry hugging Bill on the thestral and "Bill, look away. I'm hideous." Poor Hedwig, Moody and George. 🙁
Harry and Ginny were so sweet. My favorite HP couple ever! And George sneaking up on them was funny. I don't care if it wasn't in the book. And look at this. It's so fast so you might haven't seen how they ran to each other.

The Ministry scene - Haha, those 3 adults actors are gonna be recognized more than ever. I would be so proud playing Harry, Ron or Hermione even though I was 20 years older than them. 😛 And woah, Umbridge. I thought I would never have to see her again.
The camping - This. I heard too many people complaining how boring it is. It's slow, yeah. But the point is to show the strong friendships between the Trio. I love love love it. Harry/Hermione friendship is the best. I was so afraid that they're gonna kiss in that scene after Ron left, even though I know it never happened in the book. And Daniel and Emma kissing was intense. 😀
Graveyard scene - I cried again. It must be so hurt to grow up without your parents. I feel so sorry for Harry. And the Batilda/Nakini scene after that was so cool. It's like a thriller film when Hermione found her body while Harry had no idea what's going on.
Luna's house - Luna's dad was so cool. 😀 And the Three Brother's Tale scene was amazing. It's just pure awesome.
Malfoy's house - Eee, I have a love/hate relationship with Bellatrix. Helena B-C was so good playing her. I hate to say that she's so cool torturing Hermione and throwing knife at Dobby, but it's true. Now I have to punish myself for not crying for poor Dobby.
Dobby and Creature - They're so cute!
The end scene - is the only thing I want to complain about. Who knows it's gonna end at that scene. 😛 But well, it can end at any point because we have the second part waiting. I give it 9.8/10.

I suppose I should post what I thought of the movie since I started the darn thread!
I really enjoyed this movie! One of my favorites, if I am to be honest! So much happened in the film, but there were a few moments that stuck out for me, so I'll talk about those since I have class in 20 minutes.
-The Harry/Hermione dance scene at first made me uncomfortable, mostly because I was verrrrrrry worried that the filmmakers had decided to heck with it, lets have them make out. But no, it was very sweet, and out of character for the books and films, but really really lovely.
-The cinematography has always be amazing in the HP films (well, less so for PoA, IMO). DH was no exception. Terrific!
-The scene where Harry zips up Ginny's dress almost seemed a bit too fan-fictiony to me. I mean, really? Dang, gurl! LOL! And George was hilarious, of course, with the toothbrush in his holy ear!
-The acting was so much better in this film, especially on Rupert's side I think. It helps that he's no longer portraying some sort of scaredy cat who makes that whimpering noise that makes you wanna shove a sock in his mouth.
-The humor was very light, which is to be expected, but I was surprised just how funny they were able to make some parts.
-I'm not 100% sure on this, I'll have to go back and see it again, but I'm pretty sure I noticed a decline in Emma's eyebrow acting. Thank the lord! Haha!

-The cinematography has always be amazing in the HP films (well, less so for PoA, IMO). DH was no exception. Terrific!
-The scene where Harry zips up Ginny's dress almost seemed a bit too fan-fictiony to me. I mean, really? Dang, gurl! LOL! And George was hilarious, of course, with the toothbrush in his holy ear!
-The acting was so much better in this film, especially on Rupert's side I think. It helps that he's no longer portraying some sort of scaredy cat who makes that whimpering noise that makes you wanna shove a sock in his mouth.
-The humor was very light, which is to be expected, but I was surprised just how funny they were able to make some parts.
-I'm not 100% sure on this, I'll have to go back and see it again, but I'm pretty sure I noticed a decline in Emma's eyebrow acting. Thank the lord! Haha!

I still haven't watched the movie but stumbled across this and felt the need to post it. Someone grew up nicely. Guess he doesn't look like that in the last two movies though.
God! Around the 4th or 5th movie, I saw an interview and thought "Darn, who is that very handsome man?". When I understood it was Matthew Lewis I was like "...*.*". Can't wait to see him in part 2. In the book, he really shows that he could have been the Chosen One and it's not a surprise he was the 'second guy of the prophecy". When the gang finds Neville in Poudlard and he tells his story, I thought
1. Neville MARRY ME!
2. Neville YOU ARE MY HERO!
3. It took him a long time to really wake up from his "I'm a loser unworthy of Griffindor" nightmare to grow into that brave young man.
4. NEVILLE MARRY ME!
My god yeah! I used to really dislike her eyebrow dance, but she was really good in this one, she played much more with her voice! I had the chills when she erased her parents memory and when she begged Ron to take off the Horcruxe!

Yay! Harry Potter.
It seems to me that everybody at my school went to see this in the weekend and it's all anybody could talk about. I had a long winded conversation with some friends about it yesterday.
Anyways, on to the movie.
It was the most amazing thing I have seen in a long time. They barely changed anything and when they did it was only little things that were changed for the better. Like the Harry/Ginny kiss with George coming in and watching then with the tea or whatever. "Good mooorniinng". LOL, that was the funniest thing in the entire world to me. And I was glad they kept the 'holy' joke, if they hadn't I would have wanted to kill someone. And Mad-Eye was really funny before he...erm...died.
Naturally I cried a whole load when Dobby died, it hit me hard even though I knew it was coming. All day yesterday all I heard people talking about really was Dobby. And everyone kept going "Dobby has no master, Dobby is a free elf" over, and over. I love Dobby and I was so glad they brought him back for this movie.
Is it just me or did Rupert Grint get even hotter in this film? I saw him on the screen and I was like 'dayum, this boy is goregous'.. I don't know, it just kind of hit me.
Luna was lovely, as always. I've always been a big fan of Luna, she's my favourite. And Evanna Lynch plays her so well, like better than anybody could. She gets her. I loved it when she was like "Harry doesn't want to talk to us right now, he's just too polite to say so". It was hilarious. As was "When you're ready, sir" "Sir! Dobby likes this one very much". LOL. But Luna is amazing, I can't wait to see more of her.
I just remembered another funny Dobby thing.
"Dobby didn't mean to kill. Just to maim or seriously injure".
That one had the whole theatre in stitches.
I was disappointed that we didn't get to see more of sex god Tom Felton. I am now offically relizing that I have a thing for bleach blonde hair. Ah well, we all have our favourite things.
That Harry/Hermione part when they came out of the locket was the sexiest thing we've ever seen in Harry Potter. I so didn't expect them to take it that far, it was strange. The whole time I was thinking of this guy in my class who is so in love with Emma Watson and how much he was going to enjoy that scene. On that note, Emma looked beautiful in this film, she really did and the clothes they had her in were awesome as well.
Loved it that they brought Cormac back, even for a second.
Lastly, I have so much more to say but I just can't remember right now. But the Harry/Hermione dance was adorable. It truly is the way that friends dance, and it was so sweet. The whole scene was non-verbal but it said so much.
