HP and the Deathly Hallows Movie Discussion (beware Spoilers)

Just got back from it, wasn't too impressed, was good though.

Tbh needs more Bellatrix, but I absolutely adore her so I like to see her an unecessary amount so y'know that factors into it.

My girls looked stunning in it though Bonnie, Emma and Evanna 🙂 Always good!

Loved the Harry/Hermione locket scene though, sorta tastefully done? Well as far as it could have been I feel, and y'know Emma's body so always good if I'm being honest.

I could do with watching it with no distractions though to see if I enjoy it more.
 
I finally saw it!! What can I say? It was purely beautiful. They stayed so true to the books and I loved the details they put in. The locations were beautiful and even though some people found the camping scenes boring and dragged on too long, I thought they were relevant and important. I felt this movie so much, no need to say I cried when Harry visits his parents' graves and when Dobby dies...the acting of EVERYONE, especially Daniel, Emma and Rupert was flawless...they got incredibly better (they were awesome from the beginning but they gave it all here).

Loved every scene, I'm not gonna list them all but Harry and Hermione dancing were the cutest thing..I liked it cause it shows their beautiful,platonic friendship and how Harry was trying to give Hermione a little bit of joy in dark times. I knew there wasn't gonna be a true kiss between them because I knew there was only the fake scene in the Horcrux..imagine if they would've made them kiss, there would've been a revolt.

Nagini scene, the seven Potters scene, Harry zipping up Ginny, everything was awesome. Half-Blood Prince wasn't so great, I can barely remember it so I'm glad they gave us this wonderful half-movie😉. Just a few complains: not enough Draco,Snape and Bellatrix.

I'm already looking forward to Part II, it's gonna be hard waiting for so long but I'm gonna say this: I will always love Harry Potter...not just his magical world and every character but his wonderfully made up character. I've always felt every emotion Harry felt and been on his side through every single page of the seven books. He's an hero and that's it...I'll never meet a character more noble and worthy than him. Ok, time to stop ranting. 😛
 
I just saw it today! I thought it was probably the best of the films so far, it really benefited from the extra time.

Things I liked:

- The dancing scene; at first I groaned because I thought they were going to push H/Hr again, but it was actually a very good friendship scene.
- R/Hr being given some screentime for once.
- Neville on the train - "Hey losers! He's not here." 😀
- Some great acting - even the usually uneven Emma Watson pulled out the stops for this. Alan Rickman was excellent in that one small scene, you could really see the anger and regret in his eyes when Charity is pleading with him.
- Ron destroying the locket - thank god his character wasn't completely butchered like usual.
- The animated story of the 3 brothers, that was a nice touch.

Things I didn't like:
- Peter Pettigrew didn't strangle himself! That was a great scene in the book, and it was foreshadowed all the way back in the 3rd book! Now that entire speech on the benefits of mercy means nothing, because Harry has never paid back for his show of it in POA.
- "Here lies Dobby, a free elf" - Dobby's rescue and death was well done, but Harry writing that on the tombstone was the most emotional part of that chapter in the book, if not of the whole book. I wish they'd put it in.
- The trio didn't see Luna's room with her "Friends" painting. That was a powerful scene in the book, it really showed the sadness of Luna's character. I was really disappointed with its absence.
- Dudley not telling Harry that he didn't hate him. Again, a good character scene that was cut out.
- No Harry giving Kreacher the locket, and Kreacher becoming more personable because of it.
- No clippings from Rita Skeeter - Harry's anger at Dumbledore and mystery of his past was almost an afterthought.
- "Hi, I'm Bill, I'm the oldest Weasley brother, I'm marrying Fleur and I got attacked by a werewolf last year." - such a blatant infodump, trying to recover after their vicious cutting of the previous films.
- Harry not being in polyjuice at the wedding, and therefore Luna not recognising him by his expression (yeah, H/L fan here).

So yeah, it was a good film, but I was a little disappointed at the absence of some character moments.

Yes, I was also very disappointed by the cut of the Luna's room scene and Dudley saying "I don't think you are a waste of time" but overall, it was the best HP movie so far!

I almost forgot about Bill getting attacked last year and Harry in polyjuice! I thought Bill get bitten in 7th book. Bad me!

I definitely agree about Dudley, Luna's Room, and "Here Lies Dobby, a Free Elf", but I loved the blatantness of Bill's introduction. It was like a little apology from the writers by being so prominent, especially in a film that tended to silently slot things in that had been previously missed.
 
I really liked this one. I'm relatively new to the books and think they're brilliant but I always found the movies pretty average. This was better. Emma Watson was the best she's ever been and as usual Rupert Grint is excellent. Daniel Radcliffe is still the weak link in the movies for me but he was ok, I hope he can handle the final one. It's the first movie in a while that felt epic, big fights, big losses and a feeling that the good guys might lose. I'm looking forward to the next one.
 
I really liked it! I saw it on Wednesday. 😀 It's so sad that there's only part 2 left and no more Harry Potter movies.🙁 Every year, I was use to seeing a Harry Potter movie.

I was so sad over Dobby.:/
