I don't understand some reactions

And then she added one with David saying «and not to be left out...».

This is getting really ridiculous and it's sad that she feels she has to do that. But I get it. I wouldn't want to piss off fans either. I'm just really annoyed at the fans for putting her in that situation where she feels bad for promoting one over the other.

Where are the people yelling because she's not promoting Buffy/Dawn or Buffy/Willow or Buffy/Riley? Urgh. It's always between those 2 groups and I'm sick of it.

I love how it's always SMG who's the villain. ::eye roll:: I don't hear of fans sending JM death threats or angry letters. Not that I want them too, It just seems to be a " poor Spike/James " issue and SMG gets the brunt of the crazy hate 🙁 I could be wrong though

Exactly! He's said himself that he's on the same page. And yet she's the one they're harassing. I wonder if the fans realize that this is more embarrassing for him than anything else? They're making a big deal out of this when it doesn't seem to be one for him.

It's sickening. A part of me feels it's because she's a woman
Ooookay. That's kinda creepy and obsessive.

I feel that if this were done before the age of the internet it would be written in that person's blood or something. Or maybe letters cut from magazines like a ransom note. It's that disturbing.

SMG has always had her preference, but she gave the best performance she could as Buffy for Seasons 5, 6 and 7 when she was opposite Spike, her and JM have chemistry, basically they did the best work they could.
...Just go watch your favourite episodes some more or make a wondrous collage of Spuffy-comic images or something. Keep the crazy private.

I'm still wracking my brain for when Angel killed Giles. If that wasn't Giles from season 2-7 who was it? 😱

Also spuffies are suffering? I will never be able to understand those that 'suffer' because of an actress's shipping preference about a show that ended more than 10 years ago when there are so many horrible things going on in the world.

Angel killed Giles in the comics I think that's what they were referring to.

Ohhh I never finished the comics but I did read that happened somewhere but forgot oops.
That message. Wow. I read the words. But all I see in my head is:

Twilight possessed Angel killed Giles. Not Angel. Why do Spuffies (not you) NEVER respect canon?

Ooph sorry, that whole Twilight storyline confused me to bits haha. Plus Angel went above and beyond to try and make it right again like he always does anyway 🙂

Or as I call it, 'The Giant Character Assassination Of Angel'. Written by someone who has never even really watched AtS, thereby contradicting not only ATF but even Joss' own S5 work.

Giles ain't even dead! I mean, Giles is alive and all, so you can't even really say that Twilight-possessed Angel killed Giles as Giles is still around. Granted, he did kill him, but the death didn't last. If you take anyway the finality of death, then does death really matter? Death could have been the best thing for Giles, as, how many times have people lamented not being able to go back and do things different during adolescence? So viola. Instead of a punishment, maybe Twilight-possessed Angel really gave Giles a gift. And Buffy always looked upon Giles as a surrogate father (when they were not having the implied sexual overtones) so that could be why Buffy picked Angel.

Technically didn't Angel save him by killing Giles and then carrying his soul around for a while? Wasn't there something with Giles being condemned to Eyghon's hell or something? And now he won't suffer that fate should he die again? I'm really not up on the comics.

Oh yeah, I think something like that too!
"Because Spuffy give me hope, no matter how bad or dark things are that love, true love, conquest all and make us shine."

Hmn, maybe this person is actually a stalker and they love the fact that eventually their personal hero, 'the light of the show' eventually 'wins the girl' through emotional manipulation and such. Maybe it warms their heart in a way that isn't exactly well, normal.

"Im asking to have the same respect to James and Spike."

As far as I know SMG has always shown total respect to James as a co-worker and Spike as somebody Buffy had a relationship with.
Yet this 'fan' again and again hides behind this claim because they -despite their claim- won't respect SMG's personal preference; which shouldn't in fact effect anyone's enjoyment of the show anyway. I mean, not really.

I dig Fuffy and I'm 100% sure that that pairing has never crossed SMG' s mind.

But Spike never won Buffy's heart, he caused got her to hate herself more than she had before.
He won it through manipulation, same as everyone else does. For those with a soul manipulation can be roses and chocolates, a romantic getaway, for unsouled monsters manipulation can be driving them away from their friends, making them doubt themselves; winning them over that way. It's still winning their heart.

It's still winning their heart.

And I still maintain that he never won her heart. Sex is not love, lust is not intimacy, being a 'creature of the dark' is not empathy; none of these things- to me- indicate the winning of anything significant.

For those with a soul manipulation can be roses and chocolates, a romantic getaway

Huh. When I go on a date I'm there to see if I click with a person. If I like them and they don't like me (a not infrequent occurrence) then that's too bad; there was a type, I was not it. Or maybe its the other way and I'm the one who doesn't feel the spark or whatever.
I never thought of it as manipulation, because I guess manipulation implies ill intent towards someone else for selfish purposes.

For example in S4 Buffy Parker manipulates, Riley does not.

Oh no. Manipulation has been tainted and has a bad rep. "You look lovely today" is manipulating someone's thoughts and feelings, but because it's done in the positive realm people forget it's still manipulating.

I suppose that there is 'good' manipulation in the same way that they're white lies; bland social niceties, insincere commentary and so forth.
I suppose it mostly depends on the end goal; whether its selfish or not.

Right. So the fact that Spike manipulated Buffy was not a bad thing. It's just the fact that Spike was a bad "person" that manipulated Buffy. When Spike was a good "person", in S7 he again manipulated Buffy with a rah-rah pep talk so she could go and get the scythe and all that jazz.
