I don't understand some reactions

As incredible as it seems, it appears to me that too many people cannot tell the difference between actors and the characters they portray.

Just for the record, I agree with those who say Spike (at least prior to season 7) is an evil soulless thing in need of staking, but think James Marsters is awesome and wish him a happy life. I wonder how many heads would explode upon reading (or hearing) that. 😛

Part of it could simply be that after years of likely being asked that question a thousands times it becomes tough to find another friendly answer while being honest (at different life stages/circumstances) and not becoming annoyed as many would have. She is very diplomatic, I imagine.
 
Crap like this is why I stay clear of a lot of fandoms. I know with the Once Upon a Time fandom stuff like this is constant and creepy.
They need to cool the hell down. Even Glenn Close left some bunnies at room temperature, ya know?

As for this post-
- I love how they start with "I believe everybody have the right to pick the ship they want" and then immediately begin tearing into Bangel haha. So much for that.
- I'm 90% sure SMG doesn't give a rat's ass what's happening in the comics. But since they brought it up, why aren't they satisfied? Why does it matter what SMG prefers?
- How has she ignored Spike and James anyway? They've always seemed like good friends to me and I've seen her speak about him plenty of times. Yes, she admitted she preferred Bangel... if you can't handle hearing the answer you don't want, then don't ask the damn question.
- SMG clearly does respect James and has never made out like Spike was nothing to the show or to Buffy. She gets to have an opinion, you get to have yours.
- "Spuffy's are suffering for your distreat" Oh good lord! 😵 I'm setting up a charity and writing my placards immediately.
