I hated Soulful Spike

I think that was sooooo stupid! I understand he did it for Buffy becuase he was slayer-whipped and all but that was just pathetic. He used to be a super cool super evil yet still loveable killing machine and now he's an Angel clone. There was one very big reason I hate Angel and love Angelus...a freeking soul. And now Spike's all look at me I'm good and I don't wanna kill anymore and I'm like *gag*! It was bad enough they put the chip in his head but NO, they had to keep going and make him a semi-scoobie! Stupid souls, they make me mad! Spike was so much sexier when he was killing people! I liked Spike beating up Buffy more than Spike boinking Buffy!

i agree with cordelia. theres things about buffy i like/dislike but this is annoying.
I agree.

I thought Spike was way better when he was mean and tormenting and killing people. He was even good when he had the chip in his head because he still wanted to hurt people.

Then he got all pathetic and disgusting following Buffy around like a lost puppy begging for her attention. It was so sad to see Spike reduced to that.

The first few episodes where Spike first had the chip and he was still trying to kill people were still funny, but once he accepted the fact that he had to try and be good......I hated that. I still LLOVE Spike, soul or no soul he's damn sexy and still very loveable, but I liked him better as a killer.
 
You hate quite a lot of people, don't you, freakydorky 😉

Anyway, I thought it was great that Spike got his soul back. There were so many great moments with soulled Spike... Chosen(!!) and many instances of Angel season 5.

Not much of a preference here! I pretty much loved Spike's entire arc from School Hard all the way through the Not Fade Away. Not to mention hopefully on to the tv movie that may be going ahead.

I agree. I also loved Spike's entire arc. Watching him develop from BB William the Bloody to souled yet snarky champion was a great experience. If Spike had remained as his early unsouled self, he would have become boring for me.

That's true....although I couldn't stand him with a soul....it did keep his character interesting.
They had to do something with him so that they could keep him in the show, because keeping him like he was would eventually get boring imo, so I think it was a good choice to chip and soul him. The first time I watched I just loved his whole development, now I can feel that it's a bit long-winded sometimes, but I still like the character much so.. and I like what he turned into, the late season 7 Spike is just so sweet and I like him a lot.

i loved spike from his first scene on the show, right through to that scene in the alley with angel.
i thought giving him is soul back was a really great idea. NO ONE expected it! when spike went to the cave in africa, how many of us thought he was going to get the chip out? come on, be honest! i know i thought that's what he was going to do!!
i don't think he was an angel clone. spike was so different to angel as far as their souls are concerned. angel changed completely when his soul was restored, but spike stayed almost the same, except for the killing people part!
souled spike was great!! without souled spike, we would never have had that great fight scene in 'destiny'!!

I always loved Spike, but I did like him more when he was souless and not so in love with Buffy. I wish he had just gotten his chip instead of getting a soul.
 
Spike being re-ensouled was one of the best character developments on the show. There is no comparison between Spike having his soul and Angel having his soul. One was sought out, one was cursed. Big difference.

When we saw a huminization of Spike, it was unbeleivable. Spike became a character you could count on, who thought of others, started caring more than ever, and yet still retained his 'bad boy' streak. It was an amazing transformation.

People only bash Spike and the soul because they have favoritism towards Angel. But, there is room in the world for two souled vamps, with very different purposes and futures.

I definitely agree that Spike having a soul and Angel having a soul can't really be compared. But I have to disagree that people don't like souled Spike because they like Angel better. I don't really like Angel all that much, but I'm not a bug fan of Spike's soul.

You seem very angry!

There was a reason and a purpose to giving Spike his soul. It was something he desired, becase he wanted to change. This is what you really want to see in 'character development': the willingness to change for the better.

Of course, everyone will still miss kickbutt Spike, but you got to roll with the punches!

Well, I hate Angel too, so what's my "reason". I don't like any vamps with souls. I like my hot men evil. Angel I hate....Angelus I love! I love Spike no matter what, you just cannot stay mad at somthing that sexy, I just really hated the soul. I think it was a stupid idea.

I try meditating cuz of my religion and all, but I get so antsy, I can't stay in one place for more than like 5 minnutes. I hate being quiet and alone two very key factors in meditation...if anything it makes me angrier.

I'm not exactly and angry person....i'm just....welll....Cordelia describes it best when she said "I think it...I say it. It's my way." Theres a lot of things I love I swear....but if things make me just a lil bit irritated.... I rant....it's what I do.
 
I understand a good rant, I do. Been known to have a few in my time.....and I'm a "think it, say it" person, too. I've never been described as tactful......SO....anyway.....if you love some things too, then why not a post about, "I love such and such," or, "I *heart* this and that?" Why all the angry?
 
I just posted an i love fred post...i have posted them ( not as many as the hate threads) but people tend to remember my hate more than my love...i have a few i love ...... threads out there
