I love season 7

The first seven episodes of S7 were absolutely stellar. I remember watching it and feeling incredibly hyped up for what I was sure would be the epic final season of BtVS.

Then the rest of the season came along.

I really liked the beginning of the season. And I do like the finale, although I think it has some problems that Joss should've anticipated- he's the one that wrote Fray after all! However, perhaps he hadn't planned on continuing in comics at that time.

I do think the Buffy/Giles relationship had to change, but I wish it hadn't been destroyed. Because even though they seemed to heal that rift in Chosen, season 8 proves that it wasn't.

I agree that Faith was necessary because of the issue with the Slayer line, but I liked her a heck of a lot better on AtS.

I loved Andrew, I know that the fandom is divided on that. And I think they could have had the Potentials in there without becoming so focused on them as individuals. And I think that Willow & Kennedy was completely unnecessary- what? Just to prove that she really was a lesbian? @@ whatever! I wouldn't have minded her having a one-night stand or a fun date.

There was some definitely great Spuffy stuff, particularly the church scene at the end of Beneath You and Touched of course. But the entire season becomes the Buffy & Spike show (throw in a bit of Willow), with little emphasis on the other Scoobies.

I do love Selfless- really great Anya-centered episode.

In short I agree with [MENTION=10790]Goby[/MENTION]- while it has it's shortcomings it's better than a lot of what's on television and definitely has some stellar moments (Conversations With Dead People for example).

Andrew should have been stupid---- he was amazing!!!

Spuffy --- I didn't like the Spuffy sex in Season 6. Season 7 was sex-free and amazing!!! The speech in "End of Days" makes me cry.

Buffy and Holden in "Conversations with Dead People" --- WOW!!

Robin and Spike's issues -- great stuff!!

I remember reading that Joss wanted at least one happy couple by the end of it. He knew he was going to kill off Spike, and either Xander or Anya, so he introduced a new love interest for Willow's happy ending.

I loved Season 7! The whole storyline about the First trying to eradicate the slayer line was great, think the way the First could be any dead person was brilliant and I loved SMG as evil Haaa she does it so well! And the way it could manipulate was fascinating! Okay they could have explored the First further and given it extra powers rather than giving people 'earache' haa like dragging people into others dreams and memories like it did in Amends would have been so good! But the effect of First on everyone it came into contact with was great - they were stunned by it! It's appearance as The Mayor infront of Faith, as Nikki in front of Robin, Joyce infront of Dawn and Buffy- it chose its appearances well!

There were some classic and stand out episodes such as CWDP, Lies My Parents Told Me, Dirty Girls, Showtime, Selfless! I know ppl say this was a season of speeches lol but I loved them all! I thought the Potential thing was great , it really got to the overriding theme of the whole series about the nature of the slayer, the slayer line and identity, which is ultimately reshaped in Chosen. I think Get it Done was a great episode where we gain deeper knowledge of how the Slayer was created! That scene with the shadows coming out of that box was amazing!!

Faith - incredible! Loved her return 🙂 it was great seeing her fight the good fight!!

I didn't like Andrew though! He was sooo annoying!

My opinion on season 7 has definitely changed over time, I used to really like it but I don't so much anymore. I think it's one the worst seasons, the first few episodes are good but then it's gets a bit boring and the characters that I usually love are mostly annoying.
I don't think it's as bad a season 6, but the only episode I would pick up and watch just like that from season 7 is Him.

I love season 7. When I watched it for the first time, I was watching only for Spuffy scenes. But, after a couples of rewatches I started to appreciate other characters' journeys. Willow's slow recovery and self-acceptance. Xander's maturity and him being a wonderful friend. Dawn's epiphanies. Anya's discovery of her inner humanity.

I adore Andrew, because he is the king's fool at Buffy's court.

I accepted Potentials, altouh at first I found them annoying and unnecessary. But it's their presence that, ultimately, makes the season really epic.
