i met eliza 2day!

it was in the UK and the tickets were 10 or 15 pound depending on the time of your entry and you had to pay 20 for the autograph!!!
 
It was in Birmingham, UK... and the tickets were really cheap, only £10 (err.. like $18 or something??) for one day... bit more for an early opening ticket.. the autographs were more expensive. £20 for 1 signing.. but that was to cover costs. But it was SO worth it.. Oh yea, and she only agreed to come to the show 1 week before the actual date so it was VERY last minute! im still giddy at the thought! =D

I got my autograph today.. in fact just this minute, and I cant believe it.. its signed personally to me. This is more than i hoped.. I was just expecting her signature, yknow?! WOW!! *g* Awesome...
 
well i never saw the day when i would meet or rather 'see' her but it happened. And hopefully, i will get a better chance some day. You will too, just watch out for those Fairs.. and meets and stuff... or maybe one day bump into her in the street 😉 Could happen!

Nice pictures! 🙂 I'm sure that if I ever met Eliza I'd be shaking like a leaf. Not so much because I'm a rabid Eliza fan and would be stunned to actually meet her, but more because she's quite beautiful in a way that usually causes me to stare at my feet and mumble 😉

Actually from the couple talk show interviews I've seen, she seems quite cool and like she'd probably be fun to just hang out with for a while. Pity that conventions and autograph sessions are generally so fake and forced, but meeting is better than not meeting I suppose.

I want to change my answer a bit about if I met Eliza, though I won't edit my previous post to do it. I thought about it, and, it's not exactly just that Eliza is beautiful. She's certainly attractive and very pretty, but on a simple physical hotness scale, I'd have a hard time picking her over Kirstin Dunst in Bring It On. It's something else really. Eliza has this great charisma and magnetism. There is something about her that says "I'm a good time! I'm fun to be around!" I was going to say that she's cool, but I don't think that's right. She's not cool...she's even a little bit odd, but she's so damn confident in being herself that she sort of creates her own cool (think about the 80's style sunglasses, the frizzy hair, the occasional weird outfits, all the bad girl roles, the non-mainstream movies/roles, and so on). Some people enjoy being themselves so much that you can't help but enjoy being around them. I suspect Eliza is one of these people.

A lot of people seem to worship Eliza because she's beautiful or whatever (with all the in-love fantasies that go along). Personally, I'd rather run into her at a club, buy her a drink or five, and have a good time hanging out, talking, and getting to know her a little bit. Then at the end of the night, I'd tell her it was great to meet her and that I had fun and be on my way. And no, I'm not gay 🙂

edit: forgot to mention that I would give her a BIG hug before being on my way 😀
 
i agree with you Elec with what you said about guest signings being rushed, we didnt really have much time to say anything, and eliza was signing things as fast as she could.

But i was glad i got to meet her, although it would be better if it were more personal, and you got some one on one time.
 
slayerette: I definitely know what you mean. I'd probably stand in line a while to get something signed by Eliza and just say "Hi, nice to meet you, Tru Calling is great!" if I could. It would be really cool if there was ever an opportunity at an event like this to get say, a five minute personal chat with Eliza, but the downside is it would cut way down on the number of people who get to see her (like 100 in a day instead of 500). I guess that's why it'd be better to run into her someplace (club, grocery store, mall, walking down the street) and hope she was in a talking-to-fans kind of mood 🙂 Or you could just keep going to signings, say different stuff each time, and add up the minutes till you've totalled a "real" conversation with her. May take a few years, but... 😉

edit: Meant to comment more on how lucky you are to have actually met her and how jealous that makes me 😀
