I miss winter!

In the south of the UK and summer has been and gone...that's it...all gone...we might get the odd nice day here and there but it's rain rain and more rain...the summer holidays will probably be a wash out and the only good thing about winter is my daughters birthday and Xmas. I hate snow and coldness and loads of rain....means I get soaked doing the school run lol....that's my moan over haha.

With respect to fellow BBers, you people are crazy! Winter is a hinderance, summer is a motivator! Sounds like some of you live in very hot climates however and where I live I'm surrounded by humidity and no, I do not miss winter.

Winter cause so much extra problems.
That planned 6 hour drive takes twice the time because of snow or it gets so cold that the car doesn't even start etc. Everything just gets more complicated.

I hate it.

If we had an Aussie winter it would probably be okay though.
I had a chat with an aussie once. She complained over the bad, cold winter weather she had and I was happy since I had a nice summer day.

Turned out that we had almost the same temperature. 🙂

I'm so with you!! I HATE summer! I hate heat! In the past few days I pray for the heat to change into cold, even a little. I can't take it anymore!

Chosen Enemy, I know right? Everyday I like wish and wish it won't be so hot, and for some reason I truly hope my wish will come true but it doesn't. 🙁

Right now it's 34 ºC, that's 93.2 ºF! Plus, it's really humid. That's nuts! 🙁 My body is not built for heat, gaah!

yeah i am missing the winter. I was thinking about this the other day, i love winter as it gets dark early and i snuggle up in my duvet and watch a movie (even nicer when it snows outside) 🙂

Exactly. Then I get depressed, because not only it will last for too long, but it will also be back next year. And the year next! It might even become worse, because this is the hardest summer I've ever had to go throughl. And it simply depresses me.

I feel the exact same way. It just ruins my whole day and bums me out and puts me in a bad mood. Which is another reason why the heat sucks, everyone gets so cranky. I feel like lately I'm just counting down the days till winter comes which makes the days longer and longer... When I'm older I need to move someplace cooler.

Being too hot annoys me, but luckily it never gets that hot here. I can still sleep with a big duvet in bed, even in summer. And our winters are pretty cold, so I like the break from that when summer comes round.

I dislike summer as well - it is my least favorite season. I hate hot weather, humidity, and bugs. Right now, we are going through an awful heat wave (last day of it, I think!) for our area and it's been ridiculous. There is a reason I live in northern Minnesota - I do NOT like Florida weather!

I do love being able to spend time on the lake at our cabin, though!

Ugh, tomorrow is supposed to be almost 40 degrees out! That's even hotter than today and I thought TODAY was hot. I think I'm gonna cry. 🙁

Ugh, I don't know how I'll stand it either. Luckily I'm going to my friend's house tomorrow where we'll be watching movies in their air conditioned basement. Thank God.

Where would we be without air conditioning? 🙂 It's been 97 and humid here and I thought I was dying..

Well we're in the middle of winter. I dont really miss the blistering heat of summer but I do miss being able to put my clothes on the line and actually have them dry! We're having a pretty mild winter, nothing too cold and not tons of rain, although it is raining today (YAY!). Im pretty sure our winter temps are still warmer than Englands summer temps 😛 but that doesnt seem to be too hard.

I live in the same place as Gem, so I'll just continue on from what Gem has said. Basically our winter this year has been AWESOME! It's been highs of about 20 degree Celsius (68 degree Fahrenheit) most days and has been dropping to about 8 degree Celsius (46 degree Fahrenheit) at night. So although it hasn't been warm I haven't had the need to get out a heater or put on an extra blanket. Its been perfect weather for me and I've been happier in the past 2 months then I have been in a long time!

I love Perth winters so much, perfect weather for dressing well and keeping comfortable. I love winter hats and wearing stockings and cute cardigans. I love playing soccer. Basically I love winter in Perth 🙂

I hate hate hate summers in Perth. They're way to hot and sweaty and the sun really beats down in a way different to other places in the world (that hole in the ozone layer isn't kind to fair skinned 2nd gen English like me!) To anyone that dreams about a long hot summer - I suggest you try doing all your usual daily chores in a 45 degree Celsius(113 degree Fahrenheit) fan forced oven and try telling me again just how lucky we have it!

Oh and just to make it clear - when I say a 45 (114) degree day I'm not talking about a couple of one offs throughout the summer, I'm talking about weeks and weeks on end of it. This Christmas it hit 43 and then didn't drop below 40 for a good couple of weeks.
