Help I Need Some New Music

Check out Old OLP (if you dont already listen to it. clumsy, starseed etc.) they were roughly 10000x better in the 90's than they are now. (Raine got married, became happy, and wasn't pissed off anymore, hence songwriting declined IMHO lol).
hmm.. as for mellowish music... i'm more into punk, rock, goth music but i listen to a touch of everything 🙂

check out The Pogues, The Clash (as they were across the board in almost every genre/style of music),

Metric

Chiasm (kinda electronica/gothy music but I like it for just like background music if i'm doing somethin else n not just listenin 2 music).

bah. im outta suggetsions, 2:30am can't think but im a music junkie so if you want more suggestions i'm happy to give em lol

You should give a listen to Nan Vernon's cover of Love Hurts. It's very beautiful & mellow. I'm in love with it right now 🙂

oh yea. if your into mellow stuff check out daniel wesley

(just youtube him for his bigger songs) very cool chill music. just to groove to.

i ddin't see it get posted, and it might not be "mellow" enough, but give this a listen see if you like it.

Its of his BlackSummer's Night Album. I higly recommend.

If you wanna keep it mellow allow me to recommend Mumford and Sons, Frank Turner, and some of Paulo Nutini's stuff.

^I looooove Paolo Nutini! His new album is great. Next to mellow music ska is one of my favourite genres and he's got some great ska/reggae sounds on his new album!

Thanks so much for all the recommendations guys, I've found some great new music this week!

Oddly enough I stumbled across Elvis Costello and I'm in love with him! Ha. Not sure if it's really mellow, but I love it! 😀

And ShadowsPeople, I'd forgotten about Maxwell. My aunt loves him so I used to listen to it a lot when I was younger 🙂

Mellow? Ok I can do that 😉 Anything in brackets is a song you should look out for)

Damien Rice
Glenn Hansard
Ray Lamontagne
A Fine Frenzy
Joshua Radin ("When I find you, I'll find me")
BellX1( "South of her shoulder, west of her spine")
Ryan Adams
Tom Baxter
She & Him
Sarah Bareillis ("Gravity")
Patty Griffin ("Let Him Fly" and she does a stunning version of "Moon River")
Rachel Yamagata (She does a song with Ray Lamontagne called "Duets" that is gorgeous)
Fisher "I will love you"
Pink (She is known for her up tempo songs but her albums are full of these beautiful, mellow, classy tunes. Check out "Crystal Ball, Glitter in the Air, Dear Mr. President and The One that Got Away")

Oh, Justin Timberlake doesn't usually play this type of music but he did a version of Hallelujah with Matt Morrison (also worth checking out) and it was really gorgeous.

And if you are interested in some absolute quality and aren't put off about their age then people like

Cat Stevens (He is AMAZING...I defy anyone to listen to "Peace Train" and not find it both current and relavent)
Don McLean (Vincent *sob*)
Van Morrison
Thanks for posting that video, Kean. I actually really like Justin Timberlake. He's come a long way since his N*Sync days. He's really talented, I think. Boy, can he DANCE!

I love his FutureSex/Love Sounds album 🙂

HEY! He was awesome in N*Sync! God, I love them! At my 21st birthday party last month I sat and sang every single word to Bye Bye Bye, It's Gonna Be Me and Pop! I thought my friends were going to disown me! lol

Justin Timberlake is awesome. I prefer he's slower songs but his voice just makes me melt!

Oh ladies, are ye sure ye want to encourage Justin Timberlake *SQUEEEE*, cuz I'll do it. Happily!

I just plain love him, I wasn't much of an N*sync fan. I was the Eminem girl making fun of N*Stink (Don't kill me!) but then they released the Girlfriend Remix and all best were off! Gone is probably my favourite song of theirs (no coincidence that JT penned it, also have you seen the video? *melts*)

I played both of his solo albums to death (still do at times). I saw him play in Dublin three years ago, easily in the top 3 concerts I've ever been to.

*sigh*

He really needs to bring out a new album!

Eminem is the best ♥♥♥ his songs are so twisted though.

I LOVE Gone! See, I was an N*Sync and an Eminem fan...
I've been listening to Vampire Weekend's new cd Contra. It's very cool, pretty mellow and makes you wish you were at the beach or in Mexico or better still, at a beach in Mexico. Well worth a listen 🙂

'24' by Jem but that may be a little harder than what you're looking for.

Then absolutely anything by Jack Johnson, especially "Banana Pancakes".

Oh, also "In My Arms" by Plumb.

Yes, Jack Johnson is very good!

And Norah Jones, and you said you liked reggae, so check out Rebelution!

Ooh, I will check out Rebelution. Haven't heard much of Norah Jones' newer stuff either.
Broken Bells - Pretty cool & mellow new-school indie stuff
Jason Mraz - Great singer/songwriter
The Cat Empire - Put them in a genre... if you dare
