If Joss Made The Movie...

Of all of the cast of both shows, at this moment, if Joss were to produce a decent script, the actors that I would count as being most likely to return would be James and Eliza, followed by Richards, Amy Acker, and Nicholas. David and Sarah may feel all kinds of gratitude to Joss for giving them great roles, but I think that they, more than any of the others, with the possible exception of James, run a real danger of becoming permanently typecast as the Slayer and the vampire, respectively, and they want to play much more diverse roles.

Typecasting can be either a gravy train for an actor, like John Wayne as the Western Hero, or it can be an anchor, like with Adrian Paul and the Immortal Swordsman, and it's far, FAR more likely to be anchors for Sarah and David.

I would give it a watch if it was Joss and not the original cast...but somehow I cant see Buffy without the cast, it would be really weird to watch, the actors made the series what it is and if there is a movie it should be them and no one else

If Joss decided to do a movie about the Buffyverse, I would not be upset if it didn't actually center on Buffy or Angel, but instead on some of these other characters. I think he could come up with an awesome storyline. I would like an SMG and/or DB cameo though, maybe even flashbacks (since we all love flashbacks)!

Not enough time has passed, at least for me. In another 10-15 years? Sure.

I disagree that David would be typecast as "the vampire" if he were cast. I think his popularity from "Bones" has helped with avoiding that. However, I think Sarah runs the greater risk, especially since she hasn't done much in the past few years (mainstream that is). But, I don't always see typecasting as the "kiss of death" for an actor when it gets them work, and in Sarah's case, for a role that made her a household name.

I disagree that David would be typecast as "the vampire" if he were cast. I think his popularity from "Bones" has helped with avoiding that.

I'm basing that on an interview of William Shatner that I read several years ago, where he said that, even after the success of "T J Hooker," people still saw him on the streets and yelled, "Hey, Captain Kirk," and then going back to the role for the "Star Trek" movies just served to compound it. Maybe the same thing wouldn't happen to David, but the odds are quite good that it would.
