If not Sarah, who, out of those who auditioned, should've played Buffy?

Although I think Sarah typified the part of Buffy, she is ultimately replaceable.

nerd4hire had my attention with Scarlett Johanssen. She's a beautiful girl chock full of talent and I think she would've filled Buffy's shoes quite nicely.

Out of those mentioned...Elizabeth. She got so little screentime and I was left feeling there was more to her than meets the eye. If she was given the part of Buffy, I'm sure she would've flourished. All she needed was the push.

i dont think any of the options would really do as well as SMG did (even though i didnt like buffy after s. 3) but if i had to pick, i'd pick CC only because she'd get with angel and she proved to me (in a way) that she would do ok during seasons 3 and 4 of angel

The only other actress whom I wouldn't mind watching playing the role of Buffy would have to be the talented Kristen Bell of Veronica Mars. Other than SMG, Kristen Bell is the only actress with the potential to pull the character off.

So even though she's not an option, my vote would go to Kristen.

I was just going to ask this question...because in my TV Guide this week, it says that Katie Holmes auditioned for Buffy...That would have been different...maybe she could have avoided Tom Cruise...

I can hardly even pick. I mean, SMG is the best one for this job and if it was anyone else, I'd be shocked. It would be so different and it's extremely difficult to even begin to imagine another person playing the role of Buffy Summers.

The show would not be the same because I love SMG! But out of those three...probably Elizabeth.
