I'm confused about Angel and Twilight

Someone should tell Allie that the phrase "somewhat possessed" is an oxymoron. Of course, this is the same Allie who insists Buffy was "influenced" by the glow but wouldn't say how much, so trying to have it both ways is quite normal for him and the rest of the writing crew.
 
Honestly? 'Somewhat possessed' equals to 'somewhat pregnant' to me, but I am not surprised - Joss always wants his cake of emotional wreckage from the audience and wants to eat it too.
 
Its not just the Twilight thing that confused me...the entire season 8 confused me. I'm glad I gave away my season 8 comics to my cousin. *hides from season 8 lovers*.
 
Why did Angel turn evil again??

Surprise, Surprise Twilight is Angel. But after he and Buffy returned from the new level to save Buffys friends there is a mysterious lion with green flames. It fights with Angel and afterwards angel is evil again!
Can somebody explain me why? Was he under controll of the lion? Or did the lion awake Angelous? Or did Angel still believe that this is the only way to sve the universe? Need some help here.

The 'lion' actually is an alien deity named 'Twilight' who wanted the new Universe to be created so it can live. At the same time the lion is actually THE Universe, sort of like Earth is our 'Universe'. Personification-like. That was a s much as I was able to get out of Scott Allie anyhow. After the Twilight plane was opened the lion-Twilight deity stated that it is not enough and that his spanky new 'verse' needs a 'soul' aka 'the Seed of Wonder - aka the shiny red egg thingy that sits under the Sunnydale and is guarded by Master. Makes sense to you? Sure. In order to get to the 'egg' Twilight deity possessed Angel bodily completely, so he could fight Buffy as equal. Why could it not do so in person I am not sure - maybe it could not approach the 'egg' thing without possessing Angel. In any case, through issues 38-39 Angel is not himself and is totally under Twi's control - until Buffy breaks the red egg and closes the conduit to the Twilight plane. Then the lion departs and Angel wakes up to discover he just killed Giles.
Lots and lots of angst attached.

In Angel and Faith, Angel explains that he thought that if he did not move people from this dimension to the new one, this universe would go to hell the same way it did in L.A.

Yeah, and he actually signaled Buffy with his eyes and made her stab him and send him to hell in the Season 2 finale. He told Spike that in "The Girl In Question," so it must be true.

Weren't we told originally that Angel and Buffy were supposed to be the Adam and Eve of the Twilight Universe? That implies Angel and Buffy and nobody else. But even if his latest version is the real truth, what standard is he going to use to separate the "good" people from the "bad" people in determining who gets saved and who is destroyed? It sounds like he's now promoted himself from Adam to God.

He also remembers the names of every victim he ever made and that Buffy's eyes were blue.
