Haha what gave it away? My rugged manly charm? PS why do you think I'm from North London? Just curious. I'm from Glasgow, a grubby city in Scotland.

When I read posts, after awhile I can imagine someone's voice. You just sound like a dude. A ruffian, a football hooligan, and occasional troublemaker. 😂

I'm quite familiar with Glasgow.

This is I think my favourite post yet. We rugged, tough, trouble makers are always known to be fans of Doctor Who, Buffy, Spider-Man, Dinosaur films and eccentric 00s female singers who sing love ballads 😆

Actually I'm surprised more people don't think I'm gay given my love for crazy divas like Amy Winehouse and Paloma Faith and Lady Gaga, and the fact that Buffy and Doctor Who are among the gayest tv shows in the entire universe. Also Batman my fave comic book hero is something of a gay icon too. Hell Xena another of my fave heroes obviously is. I like a lot of gay icons.

If you want to get technical there are billions of Dinosaurs still alive. The Birds!

It's quite funny when you think about it that way. We eat Dinosaurs all the time.

The history on earth for the past 220 million years has basically been us Mammals and the Dinosaurs taking it in turns to make the other their bitch.

Before the age of the Dinosaurs, reptiles called the Synapsids ruled the earth.

During the reign of the Synapsids, the Dinosaurs ancestors were the Archosaurs (who as you say also gave rise to the Crocodillians, meaning Dinosaurs and Crocs are relatives.) The Archosaurs were originally small, inoffensive reptiles who were preyed on by the Synapsids. They were the Synapsids bitches.

A natural disaster however wiped out most of the Synapsids. The only survivors were small Synapsids who evolved into the first mammals, tiny mice like creatures. The Archosaurs meanwhile after the disaster gave rise to the Dinosaurs, Pterosaurs and the Crocs. They took over the world and ruled it for the next 150 million years. The tiny Synapsid descendants, the Mammals meanwhile were now the Archosaurs bitches. They were preyed on by the Dinosaurs.

However the Dinosaurs were wiped out by a natural disaster, leaving behind only the descendants of small meat eaters. The Birds. The Mammals then grew to become big and dominated the earth again. Now by and large we make them our bitches. Sure there are some formidable birds of prey, but obviously mammals dominate and prey on birds to a greater extent. I'm not even just talking about us. Look at cats!

It's swings and roundabouts. Makes you wonder though if another disaster will allow the birds/Archosaurs to dominate again.

Are they biding their time until they can take over?

Also in all seriousness, Doctor Who was extremely popular among homosexuals. We had a character who never had any romantic relationships with women, was very into his clothes, was an outsider, quite camp etc. Many gay guys said he was the closest thing they had to representation for years.

Also from about 1979 to 2010 the show was produced by gay men LOL.

Xena obviously I don't have to tell you why LOL.

I'm tall, usually wear black, and I'm seriously into death metal. So when people discover that I also love Doctor Who, Bucky Barnes, Loki and the Buffyverse, they get confused. My brother used to tease me, saying things like, "Why don't you hop in your Tardis and fly away, you dork." 😂

Its like there's an unwritten rule that no one can blast Cannibal Corpse and cheer for Time Lords, superheroes, or vampires. Then again, I'm not really big on rules.

I never realized DW was heralded in the gay community before the 2010s. Of course DW wasn't mainstream in the US until roughly 2010-2012 or so. I stumbled upon the Doctor when it came on Netflix, and it was Capt. Jack Harkness whom I adored. But also the relationship between Ten and Jack was also queer-ish, so I get that too. The allegories of coming out and harboring this big secret except from your close friends is also a huge reason why BTVS was so popular amongst the gays, even the baby gays like myself when it aired. But it's interesting to know that DW was also huge for the gays. Charmed was a big gay love too, though I know it drew criticisms from LGBT groups because of the lack of homosexual presence, despite being based in San Francisco, gay Mecca of the US. However, those of us who grew up at the turn of the century understand that homosexuality was still considered a hushed topic, and while shows like Dawson's Creek and Buffy paved the way for other series to host regular gay characters, it was still largely Hollywood taboo at the time, and gay roles were primarily relegated to campy background characters.

Matt Smith and Karen Gillan really appealed to the relatively new American audience. I remember that in early 2012, the show suddenly blew up over here. Matt Smith got everyone's attention because he was cute and FUN. ❤
