Inglorious Basterds

I'm a huge QT fan as well, but for some reason the trailers aren't connecting with me. I'm not sure why though. It could be Brad Pitt, he tends to be quite samey in every role. One of those actors I would never rush to the cinema to see.
It's Tarantino though, so I will be watching. Fingers crossed, and I don't care what the critics say.

I'm not brad pitt's biggest fan but he is a good actor and tbh he looks great in this film. For some reason i find his accent really awesome in this film.

Critics be damned indeed. QT movies were never for the masses anyway, they were for the people who could appreciate them. I don't care what critics say.
Tarantino's movies aren't niche films. I like 'Reservoir Dogs', 'Pulp Fiction' and 'Jackie Brown' but they are definitely all the mainstream side of independent movies.

Theyre in the mainstream side of independent movies because theyre actually good.
But I think all his movies are very much for the cinema geeks. They do have mainstream appeal yes, because theyre damn cool films, but I dont think the average movie goer gets everything thats really going on. The odes to other movies and genres, the mutli-faceted connections between all his movies, and just the little things that really shows that OT is as big (or bigger) a movie fan as his audience.

I'm looking forward to it, although I don't like the idea of Tarantino calling it his "masterpiece"--that's not really for him to decide, is it? Eh that's just me being irritable, I guess.

But yeah I hope to see it. I have the man-love for Brad Pitt, and of course Tarantino is good for entertainment.

Early reviews are saying that it very well could be, but yes its not for him to decide.

I also have man-love for Pitt haha, his character looks great on the trailers.

I am dying to see this, I'm a huge QT fan! Can't believe Uma Thurman's not in it, but that's ok, too, I can live with it. I think the critics just don't "get" Tarantino. He's definitely an acquired taste, but I've always LOVED his movies. He's a genius.

Saw it last night...

All i can say is WOW.

AMAZING!

I really loved the movie and definately want to see it again in the cinema. At 2 and half hours and lots of dialogue i was scared that the movie would drag but it was great, there was nothing that was boring, it had some great characters and fantastic dialogue. I really, really enjoyed it. Brad Pitt was great as a redneck, Cristoph Waltz was genius as well, he showed great range, very good to see. Even Eli Roth didnt do too bad.

Theres the usual violence but it really comes in short bursts, it leads up with lots of dialogue and then if you blink you'll miss it. Its also a lot funnier than any of his movies i thought and the crowd were laughing throughout the whole movie.

Also about half the film is in foreign languages, mostly french, german and a bit of italian.

I really recomend it to everyone no matter what you like. 10/10

I concur. Excellent movie.
I didn't even realize it was 2 and a half hours long til we came out of the theatre and it was 1:30am. It keeps your full attention from the very beginning. The writing is great, the acting is great, the music was great, it's very funny at times, just an awesome movie that is definitely worth seeing - more than once. Too bad I'm especially broke these days.

Saw this a few hours ago and thought it was fantastic. Christoph Waltz was absolutely superb, and Brad Pitt was clearly having so much fun with his character.
The dialogue was fantastic also - not that I expected any less from Tarantino - but I'd forgotten just how good he could be.

I'm seeing it again hopefully this weekend!

I definitely will! I just hope that I will be able to see it in English...

I thought only the germans were dubbing it??

I'm not really interested. Rewriting the end of WW2 = bad idea in my book, even if it's Tarantino.

Besides, I will not pay money to see Till Schweiger in ANYTHING. I can barely stand that guy if I get to see him for free on TV. Boy does that guy suck. XD

I can't help but disbelieve, lol! "Till Schweiger" and "awesome"... that's on a par with "tiny giants", "huge dwarfs" and "ancient babies" in my book. :lmao:
