Rosalind Franklin, whose work on identifying the DNA double helix is considered to be equal to James Watson and Francis Crick, who received the Nobel Prize for their work. OK, perhaps these men's names are not widely known, either, but she should be as famous as they are!

Marjorie Merriweather Post was one of the first prominent businesswomen in America, becoming the head of a 20 million dollar cereal company in the early 1900s and turning it into a massive food conglomerate. Her father, C. W. Post, had passed away and left his daughter the company, despite her inexperience. Most women surgeons/doctors/lawyers/teachers/businesswomen who are not famous or known about. Women who built themselves from nothing or came from poverty. Mad respect to them.

Just off the back of your post, a few months ago I watched a documentary called Stuntwomen: The Untold Hollywood Story.
It was great to learn a bit about the legends of their profession like Jeannie Epper (best known as Lynda Carter's double on Wonder Woman).
It also tells the story of how women were pushed aside only to have men replace them wearing wigs, the sexism and racism these stuntwomen faced then (and still face now).
