...did anyone notice that "Buffy" started getting kind of sleezy in the 4th season? I mean, half way through the season all she's doing is having sex with Riley! I was glad when they broke up. Having a sex scene with them once or twice is fine but all the time? No thank you! I stopped buying the DVD's after the 3rd season. In the 5th season Buffy had sex with Spike all the time, and in the 6th they focused a lot on Willow and Tara's sexual relationship. You know they only did that to get male viewers. That is so offensive to us real bi's/lesbians...So, what do the rest of you think?

I agree on the whole sex thing thing. But then again I guess once you finish high school you have alot more freedom and free will and less parents all the time! 😉

I hav to admit Buffy did get worse from S3 onwards..there was a lot of sex during S6 and it felt like the show was turning into Buffy the Sex Slayer or somet...but S4 and S5 wasnt that bad and they didnt have that much sex in it.

They didn't show any excessive sexuality.

I can explain why we like it this much.

girl = sexy

two girls ... girl + girl = 2 x sexy

two girls together ... girl x girl = sexy[sup]2[/sup]

I personally don't think they did it for the male viewer. I think they did it just for Joss 😀

men and lesbians dont see what y'all like about it 2 girls together are just like any other couple.... Anyways it is true after season 3 Buffy had more sex involved but also alot of people after college basically are sex crazed heck most of the time it starts in High school so i mean i guess joss was showing that plus anymore any show deals with sex so he could have also been keeping up with the other shows ::huh1::

Allycat: LMAO!...that was so funny😀...Joss is perve😛

I'll make it simple,I hate Briley,I hate Spuffy..I hate Buffy having sex with someone that is not Angel (Faith is an expection😛)...Briley sex scenes were just repulsive IMO

I think that the reason that so many people dislike riley is because his sex scenes with Buffy were so much more explicit than the Buffy/Angel scenes. The Bangel stuff was sweet and tender, when Briley is more sexual than anything else.

As for lesbians and bisexuals finding the Willow/ Tara scenes offensive, I completely disagree. I'm sure that there are thoes who don't like it, just as some people don't like bannanas, but for most people, we see it as an honest portrayal of love and intimacy. Gay and lesbian people all over the world view Willow and Tara as an advocate and symbolical representation of the beautiful and natural part of sexuality and equality.

I think the sex scenes where done as a kind of example of how Buffy was growing up and maturing, but I do think that they took it a bit far.

Oh no, I didn't mean that the Tara and Willow SCENES were offensive, but the fact that they were only put in there for male views to get off on was offensive. If I thought they were there for any other reason, they wouldn't bother me the slightest.

Totally! Very skanky...
I mean, Angel had just left, and a couple of eps into the season, she's sleeping with this guy called Parker - who by the way could donate all his eyebrow hair to make 300 coats to be worn in the antartic - and then she's all over Riley like a bad rash, geez...get a room Buff...ok...she did, but get one that camera's cant go in...

Actually, it was season six with the Buffy/Spike sexual relationship. Just wanted to clear ya up on that! 🙂

Yeah, it did get raunchy. But I agree that I think they were showing that Buffy was out of high school, and making a huge transition into college and another part of her life.

I think it was okay... until "Where the Wild Things Are." Whoa, that was out there.

But personally, I think that Buffy/Riley relationships were portrayed more than Buffy/Spike

SpikedBuffy you beet me to that. Gotta get your seasons right people.... I'm just surprised all the people above didn't notice.

But anyway, all the sex was a statment that Buffy was no longer a child... she's all woman!

I dont think Buffy started to act sleezy in Season4 since she had sex with Riley like 5 times I think during Season4. And yes I agree with the people who said that it was done to show that Buffy was growing up. And Buffy barely had any sex(that we saw) in Season5. Even when Buffy had sex with Parker it was done for a reason and their was a important line that was cut from the episode where Buffy talks about how she felt she betrayed Angel and yadda yadda yadda.

And I do not think that the Tara and Willow little sex scenes were done to bring in male viewers because I dont think Joss or any of hte producers would do that. They did it to show more of the relation ship, and ofcourse with any couple you will see them have sex atleast once on a tv show.

I agree there was too much sex with Riley. Still enjoy the seasons though. But all that sex was driving me a little crazy.

There were lines cut from "The Harsh Light of Day" when Buffy was talking to Willow at the end. Buffy was talking about how the whole time she was doing Parker, she was thinking "Look at me, this isn't Angel. This has nothing to do with Angel. I'm moving on blah blah blah" and at the end she realized that it was all about Angel. That was the whole point of the episode, but it got cut out since the ep was too long.

I think that because the characters were maturing, they had to deal with sex more and more. Granted, they didn't have to film it.

Yeah I wish they had left that Angel line in. I really hated that she slept with Parker so soon, especially when he turned out to be such a jerk. I don't mind most any of the sex on the show because it's just part of life, but I wasn't crazy about alot of that Buffy/Riley sex. Especially all of it in Where the Wild Things Are, although I enjoy that episode for the Anya/Xander/Spike stuff.

I agree that things got heavy and raunchy but I don't think it had anything to do with attracting male viewers...I think if you look really hard at each relationship you'll see that the sex and all else involved with each relationship was there to hit a point home. Joss and crew are pretty well known for making everything MEAN something. I personally liked the sex and how nasty everything got. That's life. the 4th, 5th and 6th seasons were so much more real to me as a result of the writers not holding back. I for one welcome it. The nastier the better IMO.

I didn't really see the 4-6 seasons as more real for not holding back myself. I mean the show started out with them in 10th grade and I'm glad they didn't show all of them having sex all the time while they were in high school, to me that would of been really tacky. I think the show was realistic all the way through, having most of them wait to have start having sex until they're ready.

The particular Parker/Buffy sex scene I didn't like. It made me think less of her. I know thats because I'm a big bangel fan and I thought it was too soon after Angel had left but I just remember thinking 'You tart!' I think if they'd left that line in at the end of 'The Harsh Light of Day' I wouldn't have hated it as much 🙂
