From New Scientist:

"One Australian team has even suggested we wean ourselves from cattle and sheep altogether and eat kangaroo instead - they do not emit methane."

There ya go.. save the polar bears- eat a 'roo

Kangaroo Burgers

I've had a kangaroo burger, it was nice. But, I felt really bad afterwards, kangaroos look so beautiful, I don't want to eat their big, cute feet.

I don't understand though, even if we did stop eating cattle/sheep, wouldn't they still emit methane? Or, do we emit methane from our asses after we eat them?

Sure they would; but the would not be mass produced as they are now. The problem is not with cattle producing planet damaging and destructive farts, but with the volume of cattle we need to sustain our carnivorous habits. So, eat more 'roos and enjoy a good Boca Burger from time to time.. a salad never killed no body (well, there was that one time but)

I'm not against the idea of eating a 'roo, then again there isn't a great amount of meat I wouldn't try at least once, well apart from endangered animals of course.

Now I want a chicken burger.

That reminded me of the movie The Freshman..
There he is
your Kimodo Dragon,
there he is
one of only eight

I never thought about it like that. But, what happens when we eat all the kangaroos? What's next? Dolphins?

I think kangaroos around the world are gonna need a drink.

That said, I don't wanna eat any 'roos. Yuck.

So that's who you were talking to Aussie, but why did you ignore his mate the pink elephant, or was that just me?
I find that picture to be rude and insensitive towards the propensity of all things Australians to partake in the adult beverage. We practice tolerance here, CrazyFlakes, you are not welcome.
I knew if I waited long enough I would get my chance!

The reason why the roo is looking at the drink and not drinking it, is because it's a warm English beer.

Mr. Scobro, your accusations are absurd. I simply implied that some marsupials may find themselves turning to alcohol for comfort in this time of crisis. Not once did I make a mockery of the Australian continent, nor did I even imply that this kangaroo was from Australia. Perhaps he originated in Papua New Guinea, like many others of his species.

Your ignorance is contemptible and will not be accepted on these fora.

Oh! you'd met Scobro before had you?

That is correct, yet using the simple deductive reasoning, one could assume that as the article and reference was made by and in regard to the Australian kangaroo popula.. and pray tell why would the Possum turn to drink? we dont plan to eat him! the very fact that in some attempt to deflate the situation by saying "some marsupials" you tried to broaden the brush and just painted yourself into the proverbial corner! You are just an anti-macropodidaenite. Admit it. Australian kangaroo population is just a bunch of boozer drunks to you. You.. you.. bovinelover!

It is true that much of the information obtained in the formulation of this article was acquired from various wildlife-based organizations in Australia, but my comment was not directed toward the kangaroos mentioned in this article. It was directed toward the entire kangaroo populous, which consists of millions of unique creatures that may or may not choose to drink alcohol in order to numb their fear of being eaten.

With that said, I would like to invent a scenario. What if my comment had included a photograph of a white human male consuming some sort of alcoholic beverage? Would you have immediately made the same assumptions? I think not. I am appalled that your insecurities about kangaroos have led to this inconsequential skirmish.

Granted, but maybe you could have said that Kanagroos around the world, instead of leaving people to believe you were isolating one bunch of Kangaroos for your stereotypical pleasure seeking gains.

Well, once again you have thought wrong. Depending on how the white human male looked, including the amount of missing teeth, I would have concluded in fact the he was Australian (or possibly Irish) when the topic was about the Australian community..

Hahahaha Maybe I should start my own business.... Roadkill Roos. I could make a fortune 😉

I know I'm a big phony saying this while I still eat all other sorts of meat, but I would feel very bad eating a kangoroo, they're just so cute and I would feel sorry for them. It looks like eating them is apparently very healthy, with the proteins and the lack of fat, but still, they're just so cute!
If they actually stopped selling pork, beef and chicken, I would really contemplate becoming a vegitarian. But if you ask me, this is not really too practicable anyway. I mean, the only place you find kangoroos everywhere you look is Australia, so there they might try to replace beef with Kangoroos, but wuld they really attempt to ship that whole meat all the way to Europe or America? I sort of hope not.

You think Jen went to Australia to get hers?

I've had a kangaroo burger

Not sure how I feel about it. I´m sure it tastes good but it would feel wrong somehow. But I guess that´s because of habit. Sure we think they´re cute but I think I could get rid of that feelingi t if it was the common meat. I´m not really thinking "ohh now I´m eating cow or pig". It´s just meat and after a while I think I´d see it the same way with kangaroos.

On a sidenote. The best footballshoes I ever had was made of kangarooskin. Very comfortable. I could have used them everyday. But I did feel guilty about it. But I have bad feet and needed the "best" shoes I could find.

I dont know why you would feel guilty about it, they would be farmed and bred like every other animal we eat if it was ever to take off. I know there are huge numbers culled and sold to Russia, which is better than letting them rot! They certainly arnt in short supply here haha. Its mostly in dog food though. Wana take the foxes, cats and rabbits too? LOL

I think it´s mostly the "cute" thing. We don´t see it the way you do. Same way we don´t like the idea of eating cats and dogs. Which they do in some countires.
Kangaroo.... IT'S DAMNED GOOD! Actually quite spiffingly yummy. Like the crusty bit on a fore-rib of roast beef. But my favourite, more so than kngaroo by a nudge?

OSTRICH!

It's like fillet steak, only ramped up - the most tenderest melt in the mouth droolworthy experience a die hard meat eater can have!
