Kangaroo: the other red meat

I like ostrich! tastes like chicken though.. really young, fresh, succulent chicken, but chicken nonetheless. I did rather fancy chocolate covered grasshoppers too.. once you get that beastie in your mouth no other chocolate anything compares.

You think Jen went to Australia to get hers?

No, I didn't, unfortunately.

I got my 'roo burger at an aussie themed pub called Walk-a-bout, it's a shithole, I'd rather go to Australia for the real deal. They also sell crocodile dippers or some shit, mental.

I believe in global warming and everything, I guess, but the idea that farts are destroying the world is ludicrous.

And people think scientists are intelligent...HA.

EWWW... the walk-a-bout... I swear that's not what Australia's like!

I have tried kangaroo before, it was a bit tough for my liking to be honest. I think I would rather have a nice chicken! I don't feel to comfortable about kangaroo myself, it's just to sad to eat an animal that people immediately see as an important part of our culture.

Kangaroos? Ruddy pests, vermin, eat the damned things please. But not at the price shown earlier $4.96 for a third of a kilo I pay less than that for a kilo. Even less when they're shot on a local farm. The tail makes a great soup.
And when we've eaten all the roo's can we go back to eating dead cows?

Who said about possums? They don't drink beer! their hands are to small. That's why they only have a shot of whisky, hence the song!

The possums I've seen don't look like that, and what's with the chocolate coated grasshoppers? They didn't have a shot of whisky first did they? Natural choccy liqueurs anyone??

Thats the ugliest possum I've ever seen!
When I was in high school myself and some of my class mates won an award of excellence for helping save the numbats from extinction!: king :

I think this makes up for the fact that my high school (John Forrest) has just made headlines in Perth for having an underground "Fight Club" style club.

Oh, I got it wrong, it's Ostrich that tastes like chicken, DAMN. I tried to enter a race with one of them, but when I put the saddle on it and got on, all it did was squwark....once!
But look on the bright side...my 'Ostrich' tasted the best!
Now Kangaroo racing, that is actual Kangaroos right?

ILLYRIAN agrees: So that's who you were talking to Aussie, but why did you ignore his mate the pink elephant, or was that just me?

Well the elephant is an introduced species that is guna crush all our native flora and fauna! So I didnt want to talk to him. The Quokka is great for a chat though. :lmao:

Im with Cait on the roo meat thing too, it has to be cooked properly otherwise its too tough and Im useless in the kitchen as it is!

This thread's made me hungry. 😀 I should try a Kangaroo burger next time I have the chance.

I've always thought we ate lots of kangaroo meat. It just that we doesn't know it.

The thing is that I have, since I was a kid, heard this myth that loads of kangaroo meat is imported to Sweden but basically none is actually sold.
So the thing would be that it is often sold as other, more accepted, kind of meat. Or at least used when its hard to tell the difference anyway.

Have a hard time to actually believe it though... but it's fun to joke about 🙂

lol Hell, I'd eat a kangaroo. As long as they were treated right and humanely.
That won't be much good to him, will it? Granted, it's a nice gesture to give the kangaroo a martini before you slit his throat and hang him upside down, but you've still slit his throat and hung him upside down and it wasn't very nice of you, so you might as well save your martini money.

There's a difference between plying an animal with luxuries and ensuring it isn't cruelly treated when it's alive.

Phew! I thought you were going to waste the Martini on it.

Being bred for death sounds like cruelty to these ears, I'm not sure that there's a great deal you can do to fix it.

People eat meat. Animals are therefore going to die. Doesn't mean it's not better to ensure that they aren't in pain their entire lives. That sounds like a lot more cruelty to these ears. Seems like there's plenty you can do to fix that.

I could argue animal rights with you forever and a day and we still wouldn'tve gotten anywhere (or you'd chuck away your ham sandwich for a granola bar [with no honey]), so let's focus on the important issue here, which is imagining what it would be like to see kangaroos drinking martinis.

Personally, I think I would pay good money to see a kangaroo drink a martini. Not in a sadistic way, though. A drunk 'roo could probably kill us all.

GO KANGAROOS!!
