Correct, that's what we're saying. And by having something to replace it but without the option to say mean things inside it, it might be a good solution. Like the "like" button. You either like the post or you don't. If you don't, that's okay, nothing wrong with that. But there won't be an option to disagree in a mean way this way. Because as you already said and we understood it, the content of the disagree option is the problem. So... a Like button will give us all the easy and fun way to agree with posts, that option will be kept, we all like it, but there won't be a way to be mean and leave mean messages. Wouldn't that be a good solution?

Edit: agree with [MENTION=11641]EvilWillow[/MENTION], a karma is soooooo much more fun. I'd love it if it stayed.

But the point of Karma isn't just to like someone's posts.

If someone asks a quick question the answer can be replied to in Karma without having to post, Karma cuts out on needless posts.

A like button wont.

The best solution is people stop writing mean stuff in Karma, and get over any hype about the 'I disagree' option.

That's why I think it's a shame to take the karma down. It's very comfortable. The Like button suggestion is a compromise, only if there won't be karma. We all agree that the best solution is to stop writing mean things, but how will you stop it? That's why people here are coming up with ideas and solutions. If you could just make people stop writing bad things in karma, the discussion I'm having right now is useless, and it's actually very simple. Personally I would love to have the karma back. A Like button is no where near it. It's just in case there is no other choice but take the karma down. Hope you understood me better now 🙂

Agree completely with this.
A like button would be pointless, and people need to stop being so sensitive over people disagreeing with them.
I'm certain people disagree with you (collective you) often in real life, not everyone is always going to have the same opinion. If you can't deal with that, sorry.

Well this is how we're going to stop it.

It was enough of a problem that Karma had to be removed from the whole board, not just a warning to 1/2 people. Removing Karma temporarily is a general warning that if the Karma system is not respected it will be removed.

While I understand what your saying we haven't asked for compromises. It hasn't been permanently removed, so doesn't need to be replaced, If Karma isn't used correctly it will be removed permanently, and I think you'll have noticed how annoying it is without Karma, I myself have gone to leave various Karma comments the last while, before realising it's been turned off.

The thread wasn't meant to be a discussion, it was supposed to notification of the warning. Hopefully now, the people that were misusing it will stop and we can continue as normal. We dont just remove things and replace them, we always give a chance to correct the issue, and removing Karma was the best way to get the message across to use Karma correctly.
