LOST Season Five **Spoilers**

Did a quick search and looked about eight pages back but didn't see a thread for this show. And I can't be the only person excited to see it back, even if it isn't a LOST forum. What did everyone think of season five's first two episodes? My favorite part was Hurley's attempt to explain to his mother all of the things that happened on the island and sounding utterly insane in doing so. Sayid also got a Bad-A moment in his fight. It was interesting to see Faraday interacting with the DHARMA people at the beginning of the premiere. And I noticed Daniel Dae Kim's still credited as a regular, which means Jin will be appearing again sometime soon (possibly not alive though, who really knows with this show).
 
i watched it, but since i stopped watching lost last year when i went to college (and also because i got too frustrated with it), i was confused a lot of the time haha. it bothers me that things rarely get answered. but i enjoyed the premiere.
 
I saw it!! I thought it was great! Everyone always talks about how frustrating it was getting in the past seasons, but I just love it so much! It's so manipulative, and it always keeps me guessing. This season is going to be great. I love love LOVE that the makers of the show are FINALLY doing to the characters what they've been doing to the viewers since the pilot!
 
You could have put "spoilers" in the thread for those who have not seen it. It hasn't aired yet in Australia.
 
I haven't managed to watch it yet, but i don' mind spoilers 😛! I do love it but i'm getting slightly frustrated with the long gaps in between the series 🙁 i can never remember whats happened! lol
 
The first episodes were ok but like sweet said, it's been a while since the last season aired so I'm all confused about everything. The "previously on Lost" was like 5 seconds long and didn't help much. 😀

In fairness it is a Lost Season Five thread created just after the premiere of Lost Season Five.

I don't mind there being the word 'Spoilers' written in the title BUT if someone wanders into a thread like this and then gets offended because there were spoilers, its their fault.

Anyway.

I haven't seen it yet, am going to very soon BUT on Daniel Dae Kim, I remember reading something last week that was very interesting but cannot for the life of me remember the link.
It was an interview with the guys in charge.

SPOILER - not just on DDK either
Apparently he is in from when the 6 get back to the the Island, which won't take all season either - I got the distinct impression it would be about episode 8-12 - and he wouldn't necessarily be a ghost either.
 
I totally didn't notice Daniel Dae Kim's name in the credits. Of course, I was too busy paying attention to what was happening onscreen to see any names. 😉

Interesting EB... veeery interesting.... I can't wait.

So, am I the only one who was *really* not wanting Kate to go see Sun when Sun called? I love Sun, but... ever since the ship blew up and she thinks her husband died (whether or not he did)... I mean, I don't blame her for being upset, but still. I also am positive that she was lying through her teeth when she told Kate that she didn't blame her for Jin's death. I'm interested in seeing how that pans out.

I'm also curious on the Ben front, because I could've sworn that once Jacob sends you away, you can never come back...

Yes, I believe Sun has become much more like her husband since getting off the Island...

I haven't seen the episode yet however I finished watching season 4 last week and Ben tells Locke that the price for moving the Island is never being able to return to it, which means Ben should never be allowed back.

Yes, Ben did tell Locke the person who moved the island would never be able to come back. However, Ben has never been the most honest person and it remains to be seen what he is really up to at this point.
 
Since there is already *spoilers* warning in the title, i really shouldnt have to.. .but im just warning that I talk about major plot points.













Did anyone else flip out with the cameo from Ana-Lucia? we havent seen her since season 2. ghost, vision, whatever she was, it was awesome.

Also, hurley? turning himself in? argh. ARGH. I know and understand the reasons of not trusting Ben, but like Revolver said, he has been the most honest character interestingly enough, even with all the bad rep he has for the things he's done. everyone else is living a lie.

btw who do you guys think is the "client" of the lawyers who came and asked Kate for a blood sample of her and Aaron? If it's someone whose not really trying to expose "the truth", as was stated, im wondering if it's Claire's mother. She must have known Claire was 8 months pregnant before getting on the flight, and seeing Kate come back with a blonde son, maybe she's just legitimately trying to see if its her grandson.

I know there's also theories its Ben, because he's trying to make Kate run and therefore end up back on the island to escape being found out.

Ohhh yeahh I always thought it was Ben but now that you mention Claire's mother it seems quite likely that it could be her.


Anyone know what's up with Charlotte? I first thought that maybe the she has a brain tumor, because of the bleeding nose and her headache and all that but some people say it could be the same thing that happened to Desmond? Which I wasn't sure about because she hasn't been acting all funny like Desmond was.
 
When Sawyer smacked Faraday and threatened to do the same to Charlotte, I was really hoping she'd say "Why don't you try it and see what it gets you?"

Sawyer is a man very much in need of a beatdown, I think.

Locke is awesome again. I didn't like him for a while, but he's definitely getting cool again.

And it looks like Sun is going to develop into a villain. Not happy to see that.

Lol, I've not watched since Season 2, so reading that Sun is maybe going to develop into a villian is ridiculous!

Agreed about Sawyer, he's quite funny and i like him, but perhaps a good swift punch in the face should put things in order.

I don't think it's Claire's mother. I mean, seriously, why would she think that it was Claire's baby? She's got no reason to suspect that. She doesn't know Kate, for all she knows the dad was blonde, or Kate has blonde genes, etc. My parents have dark hair, but I have blonde siblings. 😉 My dad's hair is really dark, almost black, but when he was little it was waaay blonde. That's just a little too out there, in my opinion.

Huh, I didn't think of Ben, though. My first thought was Charles Widmore. Or Sun, as a way of getting back at Kate, since she so clearly hates her and blames her for Jin. 😛

Yeah, I thought what was up with Charlotte was the whole time thing. Which is why I thought that Farraday found it so important to talk to Desmond and get him to go to Farraday's mother, and stuff.

And Ana Lucia! That was absolutely amazing. I loved that bit. I freaked out at first, thinking she was real or something and thinking that the time shifts were happening to the Oceanic Six as well, and they'd gone back in time, and Hurley would know her, but she didn't know him... 😉 I hope to see more of her.

Agreed. I'm grumpy about Hurley turning himself in... I know it's Ben, and I know Sayid said not to trust him, but still... 😛
 
I don't remember last season, it could be because maybe I didn't see it, so I didn't understand anything now, it was all very confusing and new characters...

It's hard enough understanding things if you miss a single episode nevermind an entire season.

I thought it was a good solid start to the new season, i just have a couple of questions. 1 - If they have to get everyone that left the island back, does that include Walt? 2 - Are we supposed to know who the old woman was at the end with Ben?

There is a reason I stopped watching: it got boring and frustrating. Instead of answering question, more questions came up. But the first 2 episodes of the new season, even though it was confusing, they were pretty good, I'll admit.

Isn't the old woman from the end with Ben the same woman who didn't sell/sold Desmond the engagement ring? The one who told him he wasn't supposed to get engaged and he couldn't mess things up, etc.?

aha thanks for that, i wasn't sure if we had seen her before or not. I thought it was supposed to be Dan's mother.

^^ I think Its both, it is that woman from Desmond's ep last season but I think it is also Faraday's mother, who i think is the English other chick from the past in last ep.
