I think that this show is more of a female show, for whatever reason.

Most guys I know just watch the sports channel. 😛

I'll admit, a lot of Buffy fans that I have met are female. I guess I never really thought about it though. I'm female. But I do enjoy talking to male Buffy fans too. We all know that most of them just watch for the hot female characters. 😉

I'm male, and yea BtVS is widely regarded as being a *chick show*. At least by most people I've met. As an example... I was at work the other day and a friend of mine came to give me something, and he mentioned Buffy(since we're watching it right now). Two other guys were with us and one of them said 'Dude why are you watching that? It's a bunch of romancey stories. Chick show. And there was also another series... called Angel I think, and it was almost as bad.' Obviously, I went on to ask him if he even watched them, to which he replied 'My girlfriend had Buffy on tv sometimes.'

Considering that dude is extremely obnoxious, I didn't try to argue with him cause it'd be pointless. But this is the usual reaction I get from guys when I mention how great the show is. 😛

But I totally got my brother and friend(guy) hooked! Once we're done with BtVS, we're moving to Angel. They love the show, and my friend was actually surprised he likes it that much.

Oh and... This board definitely need a little bit more testosterone. 😉 No offense to the amazing ladies we have in here!

I'm a female. I am so female in fact that I get all the nice girly stereotypes except the obsession with pink. But I wear hair ribbons and dresses and write poetry and sing and dance and sew. And I like Buffy.

But everyone in my house who likes Buffy besides me is a male. My mom is rather take-it-or-leave-it.

I can't believe how many more girls like this show compared to the boys! The strange thing is the only 2 people I know in real life that are into the show (almost) as much as me are both blokes!

Maybe it's just that more girls are likely to fangirl in general and join a forum!

I've never met a male that liked Buffy. Except maybe my brother, he used to leave the room when I put Buffy on but now he sits and watches....I think I converted him although he'll never admit it!!

Today i watched 3 episodes straight from S7 and he watched every second of it!

I think the show would be enjoyed by more men if they would give it a chance. But I think more females watch it, and certainly more females participate in fan forums like this one. 🙂

Many years ago me and 2 of my male friends that love Buffy organised a Buffy-thon night at one of the guys houses. He lived with two other guys so there ended up being about 6 guys round whinging about Buffy. As soon as it came on they shut up and sat down and loved every second of it! Boys just have so much bravado and find it hard to be open to new things. If you force half these whinging boys to watch they'd love it!
