Meal Planning #3

Its so relaxing having so many choices! Anything I crave, I can just say ok I can have that, and if I dont have it, I can order it for next time. Amazing how calming that is!

I had chicken broccoli and gnocchi tonight. Felt fancy as 😛

I picked a bunch of lemons and limes from my tree and decided to try make lemon lime bitters. Tastes ok but now I am worried about drinking too much fresh lime juice, is it going to destroy my insides?

I drink a water with sea salt and the juice of a whole lemon every morning and I'm fine!
Alright friends, I'm pretty proud of myself this week. I actually grocery shopped carefully for this week, stuck to a budget and am meal prepping for the week! Also focusing on healthy eating, and plant based, and maximizing protein since I am trying to lose weight.

This week of meals include:

Breakfast: Greek yogurt and berries, orange 🍊 juice and coffee

Lunches will be pasta salad (with cucumbers, olives, cheese, tomatoes) side of fruit, apple or banana 🍌

Snack is popcorn 🍿

Dinner is vegetarian chili with sour cream and shredded cheese 🧀 and chips

I spent $58 for the food for this week, which was below my budget and that included a $5 tip for the delivery driver.
Everything I bought was generic brand. This is just for myself since my bf is out of town. And this didn't include any household items like toilet paper.
Proud of myself. Now I just have to stick to it and resist the late night Taco 🌮 Bell run, lol.

I have enough money now that I can manage a regular breakfast 😀 I have been having high protein greek yogurt, bran and frozen pomegranate arils. I have that until the tub of greek yogurt runs out and then switch to something else for a few days so I dont get sick of it. Keeps me full for ages! Such a nice feeling. But it is a cold breakfast and less appealing on winter mornings!

Greek yogurt is the best.
Found a tin of condensed milk in the cupboard so I'll do some slow cooker cheats fudge today. That'll keep me in sweet treats for a while.

I made a little lemon sauce to go with fried chicken last night. Now wondering if I would like a lime sauce, considering my excess limes...I could just do another lemon one if I pick them, since I have the rest of the chicken to use up.

I have quite a lot of meat in my freezer now too, so might delay this weeks order and run it all down (cue next global crisis).

Eggs needed using so they've been boiled and I'll have with salad over the next week.

I've also got bananas to use up, so I'll make some oaty banana thing

@Ethan Reigns banana bread requires eggs, mine were too old to bake with. I prefer fresh eggs for baking, or even better duck eggs.

Banana bread? It uses bananas that are beyond ripe and almost unfit for eating by themselves.
I made tacos in nacho form. Taco flavored CC's with salad, salsa and chicken. Wouldnt get those CC's again, nacho cheese is a much better flavour. I have enough leftover mexican ingredients to last the rest of the weekend.

I am not getting frozen broccoli from Aldi again. Its full of water! And doesnt taste nearly as good as coles. Makes my tummy feel heavy after. Some things are worth forking out more money for, frozen broccoli is one of them now!

My neighbour delivered another iceburg lettuce from his garden. Winter lettuce is much softer in texture! But it had been rained on and needed eating. I made a BLT with melted cheese for breakfast. I will have another for dinner.

I want to do a rolled roast turkey on sunday. I thought I would swap some turkey for some rhubarb from his yard. I think it might go nice together.

Got a free cauliflower from neighbour. Cauli cheese with the rest of that grotty aldi broccoli. And making some tuna and corn patties to go with it tonight.
