That commentator was a bit different. Way more fun than ours that's for sure.
 
Fantasy league will be set up on the above mentioned board. Hopefully people from here can join too. Even if we'd love you to most of all join the board in the first place. 😉


In other news. Liverpool seem to becoming close to being sold. About time. But for the moment I just want to get it over with. How things will turn out in the end you can't know. Not like the yanks didn't make promises. So you can't believe anything until it's actually done.

"Chicharito" is going to be the new Solskjaer i think. Just like Solskjaer he is a great finisher and looks really young. :biggrin3:

I thought we played well yesterday, promising signs ahead of the new season.

Looking forward to Saturday and Tottenham vs Man City in the opening game, should be a cracker. Think it'll be 2-2 draw, both sides have goals in them.

The thing with City is that you've bought a host of new signings again and it always takes time for them to gell.

You've got Tottenham and Liverpool in your opening two games, if you can get 4 points from those tough games then the other teams will know you mean business.

Solskjaer and Scholes have been the only two of your players that i have liked.

I agree the Spurs game will be great, hopefully we pick up a point after our rubbish record at their ground. 4 points has to be the aim if we end up with 2 points i don't think it will be the greatest start but it will be typical City. The new signings look great i like the look of Yaya Toure, Boateng and Kolarov already, i think Silva will need time to adjust though. Should be a great season ahead!
 
Out of the players you mentioned Silva has the most talent but i've heard people are concerned his too lightweight for the premiership, i guess we'll just have to wait and see.

What confused me is you signing both Kolarov and Boateng. Don't they both play at left back? Surely one of them can play at centre back too.

The other thing that bemuses me with City is how many holding midfielders you've got. Last year both Barry and De Jong played in the centre of midfield, fundamentally they are both holding midfielders who don't score goals or create a lot of goals for that matter. Yet Mancini decides to buy another holding midfielder in Yaya Toure and give him £200,000 a week.

City defensively needed to bring in some new faces. Last season you lost a lot of points through conceding late goals especially against us. You drew to many games whereas teams like United and Chelsea could win 1-0 you'd always concede.

Upfront Tevez is obviously a great player but i'am not convinced about Adebayor.

I worry about Silva aswell, Robinho was far too lightweight for the premiership but he done alright before not bothering.

Yeah Boateng is very versatile player, he can play left back, right back and centre back. Kolarov coming in means we can finally get rid of Bridge who really is awful.

The amount of defensive midfielders is a bit worrying but i know for the games at Blackburn, Stoke, Bolton i would rather have Vieria, De Jong, Toure over Barry or Ireland.

I think this could be Adebayor's season, he done alright last season with all the problems. Tevez is our key player and we have Adam Johnson who i think should have went to the World Cup i rate him that high.

You need someone whose going to get goals from midfield. United have a similar problem in that we do have Scholesy but he can't play every game because of his age.

All of our other centre midfielders like Fletcher, Gibson, Anderson, Hargreaves and even Carrick whose supposed to be creative were not able last season to pop up with enough goals or create enough. Instead it meant the burden was heavily on Rooney.

If you look at Chelsea they've got Essien and Mikel but they've also got Lampard who will play near enough every game and he can create and score 20 goals a season.

That's why a player like Ozil would be great for United because he wouldn't be that expensive and he can play anywhere in the midfield and can be the playmaker kind of player that Scholes has been.

If that's to happen though we need to offload people because we've got so many central midfielders at the club.

Going back to City it looks like Ireland's going to Villa and Milner's coming the other way. Ireland and Robinho, Elano used to do that for us. I reckon Yaya Toure could perhaps do it but Milner is needed.

Ozil was great at the world cup and if the rumours are true that your signing him for 10 million that is a fantastic buy.

Yeah, it has definitely spawned a lot more Everton fans down here in Australia! At the very least, more people know who I'm talking about now when I talk about Everton.

After so, SO many years of people saying who, and me describing where their from and then people thinking I support Liverpool, it's nice for people to understand me!
