I thought this would be a good topic because the music in the Buffyverse is amazing & I've discovered so many songs & albums that I love so much. I love Sophie Zelmani...all of her albums are incredible. I never really listened to Sarah McLachlan until I heard "Full Of Grace" in Becoming pt 2 which led to me discovering the amazing album that is "Surfacing" & all of her other albums that I love such as "Fumbling Towards Ecstacy". There's just a huge list of songs from each season that I have fallen in love with over the years & those songs led me to discovering even more amazing music. So what are your favorite bands, artists and songs you've discovered thanks to Buffy??

Love the banner!
I love Cibo Matto & Bif Naked. I heard Amiee Mann on Cruel Intentions before I heard her on Buffy.

I also can't forget Lisa Loeb :smile3:

I love cruel intentions so much, it's still one of my all time fav movies!! I forgot amiee Mann was in that movie, now I'm not sure where I hear it first haha. I try to forget Lisa Loeb haha, I like her music, but I saw her live one time and she kinda scared me hahaha. Long story.

oh a lot of music. 😀 like one of my favorite artists Jonatha Brooke. also Rasputina, Cibo matto, Emiliana Torrini, Kim Richey, Sarah McLachlan, Sundays, Darling violetta...
then some "one hit wonders" so to speak where I only really love the song played on Buffy like Gwenmars, Third eye blind, Delerium, Howie Beck (but that was on Angel now that I think about it), Lori Carson, Epperly... the list goes on 😀

As with a lot of shows I discover songs but rarely artists and Buffy is no different. And the songs I fall for in Buffy is the usual suspects(= most mentioned when people start listing favourite songs from the show). So I won't list them since I'll probably forget half of them anyway.

I always end up liking the songs on tv shows and end up downloading them straight away, but i never really followed the artist..
I last downloaded that song 'Samson and Delilah' that was in TScc s2, but it didn't sound as good on my ipod as to in the actual episode.😛

Agree. I love Buffy music. I love Full of Grace by Sarah McLachlan, Fire Escape by Fastball, Let the Sun Fall Down by Kim Richey, K'Choice - Virgin State of Mind and I belive there are many many more 🙂

Let The Sun Fall Down is one of my favs :))
The only band that really got my attention and that I actually checked up after watching the episode is Bif Naked.

Still haven't got around to get an album or anything though...
But the few things I've heard is great.

cool, guess that album would be as good as any to start with :)
Dashboard Prophets, Biff Naked, Cibo Matto, K's Choice, Bellylove, Alison Krauss and Sarah McLachlan.

Also, there are the old school bands that I liked a couple of songs of but never really sought out like Lynrd Skynrd and The Who.

Echoing what others have said: Dashboard Prophets, Four Star Mary, Bif Naked, Virgil, Aimee Mann.

I adored "It doesn't matter" by Alison Krauss the moment I heard it in "When she was Bad". Also, the "Angel" theme by Darling Violetta is great and I also have some variations of it!!! I discovered Sarah McLachlan's Full of Grace and then other songs as well(like I will rememeber you).

i love it doesn't matter. Been meaning to record that one.
Michelle Branch, lol. I love Sarah McLachlan, but I liked her before I heard her on Buffy. Michelle Branch I had probably hear of before, but that amazing scene of Twillow breaking up and Spuffy getting together set to "Goodbye to You" made me an instant fan. Too bad since she joined "The Wreckers" I haven't loved her new stuff.

I watched "Him" yesterday and just realized I like almost every songs in it. Well, maybe except the one that's played when RJ slowly walks away. 😛

four star mary, four star mary, four star mary!

I also would have never discovered Christian Kane's faaaaaab sexy singing voice if not for the buffyverse.

now one of the things i loved so much about the show is it featured a lot of my favorite bands and artists: aimee mann and the sundays are two in particular I have always loved. blur's "no other way", "teenage fbi", rasputina's "transylvanian concubine"...all fantastic songs.
