So I'm doing a season 7 re-watch. I just finished The Killer in Me. I forgot how much I hate Kennedy... I mean, I remembered that I hated her and that she was a stuck up bitch.... but I forgot HOW MUCH I hated her. She acts like she's part of the Scoobies... not a potential. But at the end of the day, she is a potential. It drives me insane that she acts like she's better than them... above the training. I get she grew up in a privileged environment and she got everything she wanted when she was little... it's obvious she's so not used to being told no or even to be quiet. Sometimes it's good to be outspoken, I know I am... but sometimes you've just got to learn to shut your trap and listen for five minutes. I want someone to slap her and tell her to learn her place. She may have been the boss at home, but she's not home anymore. She's not the boss. Buffy is. She may have been the head honcho big shot at home... but she's just another potential in Sunnydale and I wish someone would slap her and tell her that. All my life I've dealt with rich bitches who think they're better than everyone else because they are. I know her type. No one ever puts them in their place and it kind of really upsets me the writers had the chance to put one of them in their place and they didn't.

I'll let you rant in peace. I'm sure you'll get a lot of people agreeing with you. I'll say one thing though (that not defends her). She's not perfect.

It really is cute.... we'll just let 'em hate ;)
I never liked her too. From her first appearance on.
She made always a quite arrogant impression on me, she behaved always like "Hey I'm the super-duper potential, blah, blah..." and she never matched with Willow.
A quite poor "successor" for Tara IMO....

yay another Kennedy hater !* high-five* So glad people are realizing that she shouldn't have been added to the show, or she should have at least been killed lol

I was never a fan of Kennedy either, but I don't think she was meant to be particularly likeable.

I think Kennedy gets a lot hate just because of Tara. That's not to say I like her, because um no, but I honestly think that's why.

For me, I don't hate Kennedy just because of Tara. As painful as it was, Tara died. Willow had to move on. I accept Willow's relationship with Kennedy. I just hate how Kennedy acts around Buffy and the Scoobies. As zobothehobo said, Kennedy acts like she's been in the gang for years. She thinks she's better than everyone and knows everything, even though she's just a potential. She has a real hard time being delegated. And she's such a child in a way, like when she says to Willow "Why do you always take her [Buffy] side?" Um, because Willow has been with Buffy, helping her fight evil, longer than you! I'm SO glad Faith stands up to her and makes her just shut up in "Touched!" Okay, that's my Kennedy rant 🙂

You do realize in the scene you just mentioned, Buffy was calling Willow useless and implied she was never helpful? Kennedy was actually having Willow's back in that episode. A little of-topic but I hate Buffy in that episode, she tells all her friends they aren't helping and how much better she is then all of them, even Spike who has been on her side since the beginning, ugh.

Oh, I know, lol. I agree completely; those are pretty much the reasons I dislike her too. I'm just saying maybe some of the fans didn't really give her a chance.

It is a little off-topic, but Buffy never called Willow useless and I don't think even implied she was never helpful in that scene. Everyone was ganging up on her because they felt she was being reckless by going back to the vineyard before having a plan. And going back a few episodes, as Buffy talks about it in "Conversations With Dead People," that was her dilemma. How she felt she was always better than them because of the simple fact that she was the slayer, the chosen one.

and at the same time, felt terrible that she felt that way

You're referring to "Empty Places" now, the quote you used earlier was from "Get It Done" Which she in fact calls all her friends useless. I know Buffy has a dilemma but sometimes her superiority complex gets on my nerves. Anyway, I'll let you guys get back to your Kennedy ranting. I'll try not to read this thread again but I can't promise anything 😛

I hate her, hate her personality, hate her look, hate her clothes, her additude. She's just someone you don't wanna be near. I hated her the most when she bashed Buffy and clued that she knows better than her although Buffy has been doing that (slaying) for 8 years. She has a huuuge ego and as you said she doesn't like being told what to do, and to me it's not Slayer. Though she thinks she's the best out of the potentials and I'm sure she thought she would be the next called Slayer. If we compare her to Faith (hold on guys, I know you like Faith, but wait!) they both like slaying and fighting and bragging about it, they both kinda have a big ego. But the difference between them is that Faith is actually a Slayer, and it is legitimate, she is a good Slayer and not just thinks she is.... I mean, evil being thing aside. Keddeny just looks like she's a little girl who pretends she's a slayer, standing in front of her mirror in her bedroom, holding a stick and pretends she's slaying a vampire but it's actually a pillow. Buttom line, she's kinda pathetic. Sorry if I have offended any Kennedy fans!

However, I did like "The killer in me", the ending always makes me cry. but that's because of Tara and not Kennedy.

Sorry if I misquoted, but I was referring to "Empty Places." But, even in "Get It Done," Buffy was angry. She needed to wake everyone up after what happened with Chloe. She wasn't going to be their mommy anyone. She had to be a tough leader. She never directly attacked Willow or implied Willow herself was useless. I always felt she was referring to the potentials, since they were all sitting around. She called Anya out because Anya spoke up. Same with Spike. And let's face it. Spike needed to be shaken up because Buffy needed him at his best and quickly. And what do you know? She was right. But, yeah. This is all for another thread 🙂

She attacks Willow for not using her magic, she attacks Spike for not being evil, she attacks Anya for not contributing, she attacks Xander when he tries to say something to Buffy... all in all she says they're all useless. I got trying to motivate people but she went about it the wrong way, it reads of unappreciative of all her friends of done for her. Even after that, she refuses to do everything she can do to be stronger like she accused her friends of being. Either way, this isn't about Buffy so let's the Kennedy haters have their forum. 😉

Something like that would make me want to turn around and show her she's wrong. Maybe that's what she meant to do.

No. I don't hate her because of Tara... After Tara dies, it's sad... but it's expected Willow move on. I'm not thinking about Tara in season 7 because she's dead. I hate Kennedy because she's annoying. I hate her because she reminds me of all the rich bitch idiots I went to school with. I hate her because she thinks she's better than everyone around her. I hate Kennedy because of Kennedy... Not because of Tara. I mean, compare the two and obviously Tara comes out in front... But watching it, I'm not really comparing the two... I don't think they're on close enough planes to even be compared.

I actually hate The Killer in Me. I feel like Kennedy skipping out on the spirit thing was really arrogant and stupid of her and I hated it before Kennedy and Willow got together and Kennedy was overly pushy about getting with Willow... so taking her to the Bronze... She wasn't doing that "flirting in code" thing she talked about. She was pushing. It was irritating. Also, when I go on a first date, the first question should not be "how long have you known you were gay." If the girl asks me that first question, first date... There will be no second date, that's for sure. That almost feels like nit-picking but it just really irritated me... it played even more into the fact she's not used to being told no. Her behavior was inappropriate and not ok... I wish it wasn't necessary for Willow's character she move on from Tara so she could have said that.

Lots of Kennedy haters! 😀 Although this has turned into a bit of Buffy hating as well.

Well I really can't stand Kennedy, she was THE number one problem with Season 7, (although a few characters got on my nerves a bit that season but that's for another Thread). I hate Kennedy for the same reason most other people seem to.. She's a spoilt brat who thinks that she's so much better than anyone else and a Scooby from the start. Anyone watching from half way through the season, not having seen Buffy before, could easily be led to believe that she'd been there the whole time.

As for Willow/Tara being a reason for my hating her, it might play a small part but then again I really didn't like Tara for a bit because of Oz but learned to love her as the seasons moved on.

As for the Buffy discussion, I was on Buffys side in both Get It Done AND Empty Places because she was having a hard time herself dealing with everything, being depended upon by so many girls who were being hunted by the Bringers without having to deal with them killing themselves. I agree that she was a bit harsh in Get It Done and could have gone about it a better way but she needed to open everyone elses eyes and that's what she was doing.

I really disliked Dawn in Empty Places for kicking Buffy out of her own home, Dawn might live there to, but she still had no right to do that to Buffy!

Me too. I was on Buffy's side too. She was a leader and sometimes that means making choices that aren't popular. And it means being the least popular person in the room. Sometimes what people need to do isn't want they want to do. Buffy learned that by being the slayer 7 years. Now, it was everyone else's turn.

And I want to slap Dawn every time I watch Empty Places. It was like "Uh, you ungrateful bitch. Buffy has DIED to save your life and THIS is how you repay her? How DARE you?"
