It would be good for zombie beheading.
Anyone who wants a full sized scythe had better buy it quickly, because apparently it was a one time run, and there aren't any plans that I can find anywhere to make more. The miniatures are still relatively easy to find, so you could always say that you washed it and it shrank.

Gill Hibbin's Jackal (Faith's knife) is also a limited edition piece, so they're gonna be hard to find as well. Ebay has them occasionally. I have seen a brief mention of what seems to be a knock off copy of the Jackal called "The Wolf" made by someone in China, but I haven't been able to find out where to get one, or even if it does actually exist.

I have a homemade stake and this would go REALLY well with it. *nods* Mmmhmm. I probably won't ever have the money to spend on something like that though. 🙁

Even though I don't have the money to buy one I got really nervous at "one time run". I don't like the idea of never owning it. 🙁

That's done quite often with things like this. It insures that collectors will have at least a fair chance of recovering their investment, plus make a profit, if they should ever decide to resell.

But if you can't afford the real thing, or just don't want to pay that much for what is basically a wall hanging ornament or a toy, that doesn't mean that you couldn't make one yourself, or get someone else to do it for you. The greatest challenge would be the head, and you could make it out of wood or plastic fairly easily (it's not like you're going to actually chop the heads off of ubervamps or split rogue priests with it) if you don't want to go to the trouble of cutting, welding, and grinding steel. As long as you don't try to sell it as the original. there's no copyright infringement. Plus, if you make it yourself, or even if you commission it done by someone else, that will be an interesting story to go with your very own scythe.

It IS sick to pay that much for the scythe, but I probably paid the double amount (including freight costs to Sweden). I don't remember, I'm trying to forget the cost and just admire it there on my wall... (It was a 50-year birthday present, too...)

I would actually play with it if I had one. >.> lol Think how cool you would be in your LARPing group?! XD

If you want to play with it, you should definitely have yourself a counterfeit "toy" scythe made and leave the original on the wall, the same way that owners of fabulous jewelry have inexpensive replicas made to wear. The Slayer's Scythe is a limited number collector's item, and the least damage to it whatsoever will decrease its value (I know, as of this moment, you'll never sell it as long as you live, but there may come a day when you HAVE to, and you want it in the best possible condition possible when you do)
