I'm 52 years old, and I admit, I never gave the TV show a chance when I was younger. While I thought the film was good, campy fun, I thought that the show was strictly serious and "just about vampires". I finally started the show several months back, and have already finish all 7 seasons of the show (I haven't tried to read the comics yet).

I was shocked by how much I've loved this show! I didn't realize that BTVS would tackle so many serious issues in a far more intelligent and sensitive way than most modern TV shows. Also, the acting on this show is amazing. Not only should SMG have won an Emmy for The Body, but her comedic skills are fabulous!

I don't know many people who watch the show, or who even would want to give the show a chance. That's why I came out here. To find fellow fans to communicate with, share thoughts and opinions on episodes, and just have some fun out here!

Welcome 🙂 Looking forward to reading your posts. You can post in any thread that is open, even if it is very old. Hope to see you round 🙂

Welcome to the forum! As fan forums go, this place is more civil and intelligent than most. I am looking forward to your point of view. And if you are worried about stating your opinions, I can say that except for the three days around the full moon, we don't bite.

Hi! And welcome to the boards!
It's always nice to see a new Buffy fan no matter what age they discover it.

Have you watched the spinoff, Angel the Series? Over the years I have grown to love it just a bit more than Buffy. I highly recommend giving it a watch if you haven't.

That's why I came out here. To find fellow fans to communicate with, share thoughts and opinions on episodes, and just have some fun out here!
You definitely picked the right forum! There are other Buffy related forums and they are good as well but this one is the best IMO. You are among friends.
And I have to ask one last question....do you wear the cheese or does the cheese wear you? 😁

I don't have near the love of Angel (so far) as I do BTVS. But I'm not even fully finished with the 1st season. But "I Will Remember You" & "Hero" really hit me hard.

And to answer the most important question: some days I wear the cheese, and other days the cheese wears me.

Welcome home, you'll be able to converse with the thousands of folk who think like you, well, you know the tens of th . . . . ., the ten people who think like you, hope you have fun here @CheeseManTX.
Now for the important stuff,
where did you get that username from? And details please don't worry we (I) won't remind you of your answer until your tenth birthday here,
there,
that cheered you up didn't it? smiles!

And now for a really important question ! ! !
Why do some folk regard the television show Angel as only a spin-off of Buffy The Vampire Slayer? Go on I'd like to know your answer!

Welcome! It's really cool to me that new people join the boards semi-regularly; I've been here less than a year myself, and it's not uncommon to log on and see someone new. Plenty of people are still finding Buffy every day, which has really helped me stop feeling like I was late to the party (I wasn't even alive when the show first aired, so there was no hope of me finding it "before it was cool" or anything like that). I always think the conversations happening here are really interesting, and I hope you will, too 🙂

hey well better late to the party than never! I'm glad you appreciated the campy movie, the intelligent & sensitive quality of BtVS and SMG's comedic skills! I wish she did more good comedy movies!

As a newbie and to "test your coolness factor" as Cordelia says in the episode _______________________.. JK. ... it was 'Welcome to the Hellmouth' though. My friend & I used to give eachother Buffy quizzes 😂 ..but I have some questions for you.

Have you watched Angel too ? If not yet, you need to! Also for the comics, I personally liked season 8 and season 9 to a lesser extent (although Angel & Faith season 9 is masterful), but I fell off mid season 10 and didn't get to seasons 11 & 12 so I don't know.

For BtVS, what are your favorite...
Seasons?...
Episodes?...
Characters?...

Mine...
Seasons I love seasons 4, 5 & 6 but season 3 is the most perfect season.
Episodes- Restless, Earshot, Once more With Feeling, Who Are You?, Doppelgangland, Family, Conversations w/Dead People, Hush, Selfless, The Prom
Characters- I love them all (even the villains for the purpose they serve the story)...my favorite characters besides Buffy though are Spike, Faith & Willow. Favorite Villains are Glory, Harmony, Darla & Drusilla. I like Spike & Angel better when they're not villains.

Other episodes I love that aren't technically "the best" or at least make it to my top 10-- Anne, Buffy vs. Dracula, Real Me, Living Conditions, This Years Girl, Bad Girls, Consequences, Surprise, Innocence, The Wish, The Body, Forever, Smashed, Wrecked, Villains, Gingerbread, Witch, Fear Itself, Tough Love, Lovers Walk, Becoming, Graduation Day..

What made you finally watch the series though? Was it the news of the reboot New Sunnydale series coming next year? I'm so excited for it!
