New Buffy/Angel Magazine

right well i got the 1st mag today as i said i would and as for the mag you can barely call it that. its a total of 8 a4 pages thats 16 sides. so we take away the fron and back covers this leaves 14 sides then we take away another 2 pages for the inside of the front and back covers as these are just contents and ehats in the next issue this then leaves us with 12 sides thats 6 pages!!!!! 6!!!!! how can you call this a magazine i do not no, ok you get a little thing with it but theres no reading in that and it just pictures of cast and the complete series all togeter this only ammounts to a 2 page fold out leaflet.

to be honest i think everyone should by this first issue for only £1.99 to simply see how shocking the mag is especially as after the 1st issue they want to put the price up to £7.99
 
This just gets better and better! So, if we're going to be paying around £334 for the magazines alone, and if they maintain the quality journalism that they are trying to wow us with in the first issue - which only cost £2, so to be fair lets work with £332 - we're going to end up paying roughly £0.88 per page.

To put this into perspective, I pulled a random classic book off my bookshelf: Crime and Punishment, 485 pages, RRP £2. That's 0.4 pence per page. Ok, but that's not a magazine.

*grabs nearest magazine in room* CVG magazine - issue 2, 177 pages (it's a monthy publication), RRP £5. That's still only 3 pence per page. It's a similar type of magazine, that goes over old series pooling together interviews and bringing the latest content about it, so it's definately comparible.

So. Anyone still wanting to buy?

i really think you should get it so you can see just how pathetic the mag is,then you can take your anger out on it lol.i'm ashamed to say it but this is really a waste of time (cant beleive i just said that about something buffy related)
I just realised I made an error in my calculations. For one mag I was talking about sides, and for the other I was talking about sheets. So, what that means is that C&P is really 0.8p per sheet, and CVG is 6p per sheet.

I was being totally unfair. This Buffy magazine is only 15 times the price of a regular magazine. Not 30. How rude of me.

Oh, and this post is just cause I know Kinslayer would have come along and picked me up on it otherwise!

That's shocking how much it will cost. Yet people fall for these money making schemes. The advert did tempt me though. I was like "BUFFY!!!" My boyfriend just gave me a look. :lmao:

I'm puzzled by how a 16 page magazine qualify as a magazine?

RIP OFF MUCH?? 😉

Yes it is an expensive way to buy the DVDs but i have to admit that i bought the X-Files like this (DVD & Magazine fortnightly) and I hardly noticed the cost. I subscribed and did a direct debit from my account and over the course of about a year I got the complete series.

Just cause you didn't notice doesn't mean you didn't pay! I'd rather notice £180 going out of my bank account that not notice £514!
I am picking up the first one just for the heck of it.
I have already bought Buffy on VSH and DVD. The only thing tempting me to collect this is the spine of the DVDs, it would look so hot on my shelf. But 8 pound a issue is a lot of money. My dad is out looking for it now, hope he returns with it. Motivation for a re-watch if I ever heard one and I would totally keep buying this if it was under a fiver.

Whats actually in the magazine? is it just interviews and facts and stuff we already know?
 
I saw the advert for this yesterday,and my mum looked at me and said 'don't even think about it'.

I have to agree, It does look like a rip off.
Having said that, I'll probably buy the first issue if I see it in the shops, but i won't subscribe...I'm saving up to buy the boxsets...much cheaper 🙂
 
still not gettine ANY of my money, i cant believe any one on here will pay even for the first issue


and you can hack your dvd player and set it to region 0 so it will play anything, or install anydvd on your computer... i mean i have 3 region 0 dvd players (but my mums and sisters i wont touch and another one couldnt be hacked but most can, even on amazon they had the codes for unlocking them) and others that couldnt be hacked....
 
Okay...I'll buy the dvds once I've saved.

Seriously, much better idea. If you put that £8 a fortnight aside instead of buying the magazine, you could have all the episodes in 5 months rather than 2.5 YEARS!
I'll probably pick up the first issue the next time I'm in town just for the sake of having it. But I'm not paying out that much money when I already have both series haha.
 
i brought the first issue just to see what it was like and on a questiner inside the magazine it said that they might produce exclusive figures from buffy so it might be worth it to watch out for them as i would get tehm but i already have all the dvds

Save your money and get the "Tiki" Buffy figures, much better :)
I bought the first one today just to see, and I'm not overly impressed. But its a nice collectible to have.

I notice that there will be a distinction between the Buffy and Angel collections, dark blue for Buffy and sepia coloured for Angel eventually.
 
yeah if you go on the web site you can see that it is two seperate collections for both shows... you know like the smaller less expensive ones you can buy ANYWAYS!
 
Buffy/Angel new magazine... with DVD!

I dont know if everyone in other countries has this but here in England we have a brand new Buffy and Angel magazine! I was shocked to see it! Basically its a whole series thing where every issue you get a disk which will make up the whole 7 series' of Buffy and the whole of Angel too... as well as a magazine with interviews with the cast and crew, episode guides and trivia.

So out of curiosity, what do you think to it all? I mean at £7.99 per issue and 6 disks per season (exept season 1) it works out at a hell of a lot of money per season when you can get them from shops for about £15 now...

just curious to what you think of it???
