The 2nd pic down, the smoking one, she should look like that in it, they should make her a badass slayer.

Holy frak. She is so hot! I need to watch BSG.
I would probably watch a new Buffy movie out of curiosity.

Can't say that I'm that excited over the whole idea though. I do think that Buffy is Joss creation and he really should be involved in some way.

Megan Fox. No. Please God, no. And Katee Sackhoff is fantastic, but I thought this was gonna be a remake. With a 15-16 yr old Slayer? No?

As long as they don't cast Ashley Tisdale (not that I've seen any of her work, but she seems like the anti-Buffy). Or Miley Cyrus, I suppose. So, Megan Fox is not necessarily the worst choice. Also, I would think that Megan Fox would be a better choice for Faith, anyway, in terms of looks. I'm reserving judgement on her until I see Jennifer's Body, which will presumably demonstrate her acting ability.

Since when has a character being 15-16 year old stopped TV casting someone in their 20's or 30's?

True. Seems like that was even more rampant in 70s, 80s films, TV. You could put Starbuck in pigtails, still wouldn't buy her as a teenager.

And, sorry, but don't hold your breath that Whedon might become involved in the big-screen Buffy the Vampire Slayer reboot. "I believe [the producers] did ultimately reach out to my agent after the news broke," Whedon says. "I think that's something better left untouched by me. So, I wish them luck." (They'll need it: In a PopWatch poll, only three percent of readers planned on seeing the film if Whedon wasn't attached.)

3 Percent. I bet it would a bit higher than that. People would crack, go see it out of (morbid) curiosity.

Of course more than 3% would, the people who "wouldn't" see it probably voted 'no' thinking that it would affect if the movie was being made.

We should post a poll here.

Only 2 options (under the belief no one from the show will be involved, including characters).
*Would you watch this movie at all (including Cinema, DVD, other means?
*Never ever see this movie.

Anyway, Joss Whedon has stated now that he was approached and turned it down, so its not a matter of Joss not being involved, its a matter if him not wanting to.

Granted I haven'tr read past this post so sorry if there's already a link but where did Joss say that?
Hey guys! Well I'm brand new to the site but have been a huge Buffy fan since the series came out (the 1992 movie, not so much, but whatever). Anyways, here's an article from Entertainment Weekly:

" 'BUFFY' MOVES ON- WITHOUT JOSS WHEDON: No scooby gang? Or (sob!) Joss Whedon? News that the movie execs intent to remake the original Buffy the Vampire Slayer movie without the cooperation from its writer or the beloved cast of the more successful TV series was met with an expected flurry of online protests. But prodecer Roy Lee is begging angry fans to put down their stakes. "I would love to have Joss involved," he says, noting that the franchise guru Whedon does not control the rights to Buffy. "He's got a huge fan base and it would make sense if he wanted to." But it looks like Whedon's got other plans. "I hope it's cool" was all he would say, when we reached via e-mail on the set of The Cabin in the Woods. Even if Wehdon won't be sucked back in, the idea of a reboot is a no-brainer given the success of HBO's True Blood and a little book called Twilight. Besides, notes Lee, who turned Hong Kong's Infernal Affairs into the Academy Award-winning The Departed, "I don't think we've ever attempted a remake where we haven't had negative comments." "

Can I just say again for the record that I wasn't suggestion that Katee Sackhoff play teenage Buffy. I was suggesting her if they went with an older Buffy.

😀

Here's a little bit more fuel for the fire:

Joss Whedon Actually Was Approached For New Buffy Movie

Apparently Joss WAS originally invited to be involved in the project, or at least his agent was asked to ask him, and he refused. So it's not as much that the people actually planning on making the movie didn't want him as it was, he didn't want any part of it. The impression that I got from the article was that he refused to even negotiate with them about it.That means, to me at least, that Joss isn't nearly as much of a victim here as we were led to believe at first. He didn't even try to find out just how much artistic input or control he might have. He just refused to be involved at all.

Well the first time around the Kuzuis managed to mess with Joss's ideas and piss him right off. So im not suprised Joss wants nothing to do with them as he might think it would just be the same again.

See, I might have agreed if Buffy the Vampire Slayer wasn't what it is and Joss' career hadn't taken him to where it has.

I would imagine that what the Kazuis would have offered is Joss the chance to do ***** the Vampire Slayer, a new character that he could have done within his verse, giving him more say.

With hindsight its pretty easy for all of us to say 'Joss should have not had his script raped like it was in the movie' but don't forget, before the movie to his credit all he had was a couple of scripts for Rosanne and story editor for it.

Now he has more going for him, he would have more say.
I think he is just being a bit of a petulant brat - how many times has he stated he would love to make a movie in the Buffyverse?

BillyIdolWannaB agrees: Yeah, i can imagine joss just being stubborn about it.
I mean to be fair to him, I don't imagine I would be in such a rush either, but if he really did want to make a Buffy movie, then he has the ability, the power and the chance to do it now, and he isn't even bothered - so I say let someone else do it.

The problem is that the writers of the shows wouldn't do it because they would feel like they were betraying Joss, but honestly I would love Fury, Noxon or Espensen (actually Espensens work on BSG has been so amazing she'd be my favourite) to write this movie as they were part of the group that made Buffy/Angel what it is.
