New Joss Whedon Project: Much Ado About Nothing

Ooh- Nathan Fillion, Sean Maher, Tom Lenk!

Is there anymore info available anywhere? Release date?

I think the BtVS cast used to gather at Joss' house and act out Shakespeare, so this project makes a lot of sense.

Cool, Joss seems to be a big Shakespear fan so I'm sure it's been a dream of his to do this. Also "Much ado about nothing" is an awesome play so I can see why he chose it.

It's not confirmed yet that it's the Shakespeare play, though it seems likely. It must be a veeery loose adaptation, if the picture on the web site is any indication.

How he managed to do this while filming The Avengers, I have no idea.

Last night I read on Whedonesque that a lot of the actors have tweeted this link. I bet it's a Web production- did he just mention something about that? Can you imagine Fran Kranz & Tom Lenk together lol? 🙂

So, I just checked in at Whedonesque- lots more talk about it this morning & elsewhere on the 'net. I'm sure some big official announcement will be coming soon.

Clearly it is a Shakespeare adaptation, from the press release and character names...

I know, I can't wait to see it, then tell me english teacher, and ask with glee if we can watch it. But will it be a web release or DVD release?

I hadn't seen the press release yet when I said that.

Normally I hate modern-day versions of Shakespeare, except for West Side Story, but I'll watch this because it's Joss and so many of my favorite actors.

I might be a sore "loser" fan... But I don't know why or how and I don't care... All I know is James Marsters isn't a part of this and I'm pissed. If there's one thing anyone who claims to be a fan of James should know, it's that he's OBSESSED with Shakespeare. It's ridiculous to me that Joss would do a Shakespeare adaptation and not have James involved. Shakespeare night at Joss' during Buffy... was kind of run by James. and I've heard it was his idea, but don't quote me on that. Bottom line as far as people who have worked with Joss being Shakespearean actors/qualified to do something like this... James is at the top of the list.

So for me (as well as a bunch of other James fans), I'm so not excited about this. I'm boycotting all of it. Even if we find out it was James' choice not to be involved... I still won't do it.
