I enjoy the quotes too... and I can still see all that too. It's not like I don't enjoy the quotes at all and I want them to go away and/or I'm blinded to everything else on the page. I'm just saying that because that's the biggest/boldest text on the page, it's where my eye goes first. Which is annoying because it is the least important thing on the page. Now I'll elaborate on what I mean by least important. When you go to the main page, usually you're not refreshing for the quote. Sometimes I do that when I'm bored... but usually those are just fun things in the background. What you come to the main page of the forum for is literally everything else. Also, I'm not saying that I don't like scrolling down past it... I don't like that my eye goes there first because it's the biggest boldest text. It's just like BAM! And that's annoying because compared to everything else, it's not important.
 
I like change, I usually just go straight too "unread posts" when I come online so, Ill just have to adjust where I put my mouse after I come on the page 😉 I love the quote thing aswell!!! 🙂
 
I think I'm gonna take the unpopular opinion here and say I like it! It was interesting to see after being gone the better part of a week. I think it's aesthetically pleasing.
 
Hmmm....I dunno. Hmm...Definite on the fence-age here. Not a massive fan yet, but I don't really hate it either. It'll take some getting used to, either way. At any rate, awesome job keepin' the board Big D! (Not meaning Big D in a bad way, promise!) And...Fantastically fun F? I dunno, but Big F doesn't sound right. Hmmm...Must think on this.

Of course everyone is allowed to an opinion. Doesn't mean we want to hear it. Also, obviously, I don't expect everyone to like it either. It just gets ridiculous to see complaints anytime even the smallest changes are made. Darla can't even post a new skin without comments like "what about such and such a skin?!" Give them a break.

I'm sorry that is honestly one of the most asinine things I've ever heard. What you're saying is essentially "you're allowed to have whatever opinion you want, but only voice it if it's positive." Opinions mean NOTHING if not vocalized. Then on top of that, criticism of things like website design with a reason for it (like my criticism of the boldness of the random quote) is feedback from the user of the product to the person supplying the product. EVERYONE is ALWAYS allowed to provide feedback. Hating change for the sake of change is annoying, but if you don't like it because it feels cluttered and you can describe why, feedback is important. It's an important part of any website.

I find the thought process that "any opinion that's not 100% supportive and positive is bad and unncessary" to be much more annoying and harmful than a negative opinion.

I'd also like to point out here, that as one of the few people who has actually voiced extreme dislike and hate for the change, this thread is actually quite positive. Most of the feedback is "it'll take getting used to"and not "I don't like it." Voicing uneasiness of a change is different from voicing a feeling of hate or dislike.

Can we keep this thread on topic, please?? This thread was to announce the changes to the main page's layout. We are all allowed to voice our opinions on the matter, and if you disagree with someone's opinion, that's fine, but please don't use the thread to start a debate with them. Voice your opinion about the changes to the layout and move on.

I just refreshed the main page and saw the old layout for a second (I did get super excited) and then it changed back to the new one about a minute later (I was then really disappointed). Is that a glitch that can be fixed or is that my computer being laggy and stupid?

Okay, in the interest of feedback I just wanted to make a note that the main page doesn't fit on my work PC which is a bit annoying and looks crappy. Having said that, it looks fine on my Mac at home 🙂

I came in to work this morning and my new manager has changed around all our brochures. CAN EVERYTHING STOP CHANGING PLEASE?! No really, although I tend to freak out about change I don't see anything worrying about this one. I'm definitely more upset about the brochures...
 
I just tried to access it, and it said the server was too busy, but that was the problem I had with it on the one occasion I went in. It's not as though the other chat is to blame for the temp one not being widely used, anyhow.

Fine. Why do we even bother. Asking people to care about the feelings of others is apparently just too much to ask.

Sometimes it just takes a second for the sidebar to load.
 
I haven't once disregarded anyone's feelings. If you'd rather the other chat wasn't mentioned again, then that's fine. I can say I won't mention it again, but I never disregarded anyone's feelings, nor would I do so.
 
All I did was mention that talking about it on the board makes other members feel excluded, and I get tirades about it. So clearly, no one cares that it makes other people feel bad.
 
I'm gonna guess you guys are working on the layout again? Because all of a sudden, the board is in the "vBulliten" theme, and I can't change it... It may just be me though?

EDIT: Spoke too soon, nevermind, lol.
 
Wow, so this is what it looks like to have a board without any add-ons or extras?? It definitely makes me appreciate all the work you've done to put fun stuff here for us, D!!
