New Layout for Main Page

My page looks strange at the moment. The header is "V-bulletin" (what's that?) right now for example. 🙂 And I can't access any unread posts.

Thanks for fixing the notifications, it's working for me now. 🙂

It looks the same at my screen!
What's happened to the board themes? My Drusilla theme is gone and all I have is blue and white?
 
... and do we get our old Buffy-Board back or is this the new "facelift"? because I have the same as @This Years Girl! And where is the karma botton? I miss the old design!
 
I'm giving everyone a chance to use the basic vbulletin style, since the ones I do are so horrible and not worth giving a chance.

karma is at the bottom of the block under the avatar.

Noone thinks they're horrible. 🙁 I understand that you're hurt by what some people have said, but most of us like the new theme and I think all of us appriciate your work. :heart: It doesn't feel fair that we all get this theme because some people can't say things in a nice and respectful way. I hope the new theme comes back soon.

is it anymore "fair" that more ppl dumped on Darla the way they did in not only this thread but two others that mods stepped in to close down?
 
Wow, I'm starting to feel like this topic is pretty exhausted no? 😉 Ah well, people got to say their piece, we get to see what the board could look like and you know what... when I come home tonight I'll still log in here the first thing I do because I love this place, old layout or clean layout, and I hope feelings have settled by then.

You know what I miss? The days when you could have a completely strong and different opinion to someone yet discuss it constructively. No one is asking you to blow smoke up anyone's ass. We tested it on different screen resolutions, browsers etc and sometimes we make mistakes, feedback on that side of thing is very much appreciated, if we don't know it is an issue then we can't look into it.

Darla and I have worked side my side for over 10 years now and our ways have never changed, we discuss changes, we implement changes see how it goes, if it doesn't work out we change back.

There are two problems here - miscommunication and attitude adjustments. Several times you (the members) were advised that if it doesn't work out then things would be changed back. Everything we do seems to be met with resistance, and a spate of abuse. You want to talk about walking on eggshells?

You (and by you I am not counting all of you) think that you can speak to the staff in one manner and when we match it we are met with outcry. You sure as hell would not speak to me in the street like that and I won't tolerate it on it on the boards either.

I will refrain from voicing my opinion from now on. I can't believe all this fighting that is going on.

Darla and team does a great job except that some people hate change. Its a fact of life.
 
I didn't get the chance to see the new theme. Ah well, I'm sure I would have liked it even though I generally go straight to specific pages and don't use the main page that often to navigate the forum.

I never noticed the new position of the karma. I kinda like that it's below the avatar!

But man, TNT has nothing on these boards.

I am. Chrome doesn't like this new layout. I don't want to use Firefox because I loath that browser and I haven't tested it in IE either.
 
Ah memories of old vB. I did like the new layout although it takes me time to get used to new things it was good to mix it up imo. The only thing I would have liked is the boxes down the right side to be collapse-able so I could choose to not have the random quote section open for example. But I liked it.
 
Well, for what it's worth, I will just say that no one resists change any more than I do, and I've seen a lot more of it in the last 64 years that I care for. But I've managed so far to live through it and eventually get used to it (usually just in time for the next change to come along) and I'll get used to this as well. I just have one question.

Is the "Unread Quotes" notification still working, and if so, where is it, and if not, could we please get it back? I can live without it, but it sure makes keeping track of what's going on here easier.

(And in all of the confusion, I just noticed that this is post # 8001 for me. No big deal, just an observation)

(And, also, I just found the "New Posts" thing all on my own. Maybe I'm finally getting smart in my old age. Or maybe it's just dumb luck)

Congrats for yuor 8003 post. I hope I will reach this number too! :D
I can see where both sides are coming from but all this bitchiness is a bit silly over what is essentially a change of colour/positioning on a website. I don't really care what it looks like either way but I hate this constant enforced positivity here too. I know some people were perhaps being insensitive but I shouldn't have to with hold my opinions just because they're not necessarily happy and positive and going along with the desired response. I'm not rude on here but this kind of attitude does make me want to be as it doesn't make me feel welcome here at all.

I think perhaps we all just need to stop taking it personally and get our priorities straight. Surely the content is more important than the layout?
