Just like to point out that after Buffy died there wasn't another slayer called. Shouldn't there have been. I mean if you follow buffyverse law.

The slayer line stopped running through Buffy after she died in Season 1. The slayer line then passed from Kendra to Faith. When Buffy was brought back supernaturally by Willow in S6, she was reinserted in the slayer line, thus causing the disruption the eye of Beljoxa talks about in S7 which makes it possible for the First to attack.

The end.

Hehehe! Yeah - this topic always seems to be a firestarter in these forums. I'm sure N4H will be around shortly to post the links to our previous heated conversations :)
Hihi, I love these threads 😉

Sorry.

It really is an interesting topic though, the slayer line.. One that I'll never ever dicuss again (hopefully).

Yeah, no matter what Joss says, people still argue over how exactly the line works. It seems to come up eventually in almost every argument! Bad, bad topic.

I don't exactly know how many threads are are on this topic, but this should give you some theories on the Slayer line. I for one am not going to discuss this again!

hey wat an interestin topic.. i wondered about the slayer line wen buffy had dies in season 5.. and then wen she was bought bak supernatually.. i just figured that there wouldnt be anymore cos of faith still be alive an all.. FAITH TOTALLY ROCKS : rotflmao

This is an interesting topic, and since I'm fairly new to the boards, it's one I've never been involved in. Looks like it could get pretty heated, so maybe I don't want to get involved now, either! LOL!

Anyway, it makes perfect sense to me that the line would now be running thru Faith. Kendra's called when Buffy dies in Prophecy Girl. Buffy's revived by Xander, but still...another Slayer has been called. So...that means the line is now running through Kendra, right? Faith is called when Kendra is killed by Dru. So that means that Faith is now the last in line. I'm thinking that there wasn't another Slayer called when Buffy died in The Gift because she's already been taken out of the line and once out, cannot be reinserted. It's an anomoly, there's two Slayers, but the line is only running thru one of them - Faith. When Faith dies, another Slayer will be called.

When Buffy was brought back supernaturally by Willow in S6, she was reinserted in the slayer line, thus causing the disruption the eye of Beljoxa talks about in S7 which makes it possible for the First to attack.
Was the disruption caused by her being reinsterted, or by there being two Slayers? I'm fuzzy on that, will have to rewatch s7 so I can hear exactly what Baljox's Eye says. Seems like if it was because there were two Slayers, then the disruption would have happened before s7, tho. Or maybe the First was occupied elsewhere during s6! Maybe I should read some of the other threads......"ME - shut Uuuup!"

Well that is the one thing no one is 100% certain, what is the disruption, it is most likely because there is now two separate Slayer lines, independent of each other.

Well it cant be that there is two slayers.....Kendra was a second Slayer.....the first is clear that it is because of Buffy's ressurection in season 6.

This is one of those topics that if you know the answer too then any other hypothesis seems ludicrous......lol

Well after Buffy's first death there were already two slayers, but only one could call a new one. Since Buffy was reinserted, now there were two slayers, both of which could call a new slayer (a fact that both Buffy and The First state in S7) and thus causing the disruption in the line.

Well I always took it as the disruption was there was now two active Slayers, who could call another. There is really no explanation as to why Buffys resurrection would cause the disruption in the Slayer line. But Buffy being active does disrupt the line, because it changes the rule of the Slayer.

Yeah and it's basically the only thing that was different from her first death and resurrection. The magic reinserted her thus making her resurrection in S6 the reason why the First was able to attack and not her resurrection in S1.
