Well.. the people aren't forced. The agree to go on the show. The know what the show is about.
The point is, if he was acting like a true therapist, he would know enough to not put people on the air.
Mr. Pole: but I think everyone that goes there knows he's not really a true therapist.
So…that aired. It was extremely sad that the producers decided to sensationalize and exaggerate the already-disappointing events of the past year, especially the events of the week leading up to taping. A few things I need to clarify, for the sake of my family and loved ones.
Dr. Phil had some hard words for my mother, who I love dearly and who I have caused more heartache than I care to remember.
When I was molested as a child, it was 1982. Therapy wasn’t talked about and accepted the way it is today. Going to therapy in 1982 would be similar to getting a divorce in 1950. It wasn’t done, and if it was, it wasn’t supported by those around you. There certainly were not the kind of resources that fortunately exist for abused children today. My mother, a victim of child abuse herself, was convinced by others that the best thing for me was to just put it behind us and move forward. My mother regrets this deeply, and it hurt me that Dr. Phil took her to task for not forcing me into treatment at the time.
My mother has always done the best she can for her children, and if any of you have parents that have never made a wrong turn, bravo. If you know a child in danger, treatment is the answer, even if they don’t want it.
The night before the show taped, I got drunk. Drunk to the point I still smelled of it the following morning.
I was very stressed about doing the show, and was very upset that an attempt was made to blindside me by bringing on my former booking agent Andrea Albin, a manipulative, unprofessional person several former clients are pursuing legal action against and who frankly I never wanted to see or hear from again. The worst combination I can imagine is an addict (no sense denying it, I am) and a self-serving enabler.
Ours was a mutually destructive relationship and we are better off without each other. While it didn’t make it to air, I’m glad that at least the studio audience was able to see a small portion of her lies exposed by Dr. Phil. I’ve done several conventions since walking away and have had no problems with fans or the law since. Hoping to continue the trend. It’s been nice.
I always have and always will take full responsibility for my actions. I will also defend my loved ones. I am grateful for the support of my family, girlfriend and my wonderful fans. By no means am I a perfect person, but I am also not the monster as portrayed by this show.
I am actively participating in treatment and remaining positive in the light of negativity. It will remain my goal to one day obtain the clarity and clearness of spirit that Dr. Phil demonstrates daily.
I commend those living with depression, alcoholism, the kicker that is dual diagnosis and are brave enough to speak out and ask for help. You guys are my heroes.
-Nicky
Can't be too ashamed to say it as you said it. You must watch it.I'm ashamed to say.
...oh and Nick needs to get rid of that manager...someone that tells someone with an addiction that is depressed that they only do it for attention should probably be fired.

Dr phil might be an opportunist but xander wanted attention too. I dont blame Dr Phil on this i blame the one who's destroying private property and and got his own life screwed up. Oh you drank, you have a decease, you killed someone or destroyed private property while being drunk, it is not your fault, you're sick and need help....Fxxx NO. This guy wanted attention. Dr Phil is an attention seeker that makes his money by bringing guess that will bring the most viewers. Dr phil is being himself and xander wanted the attention
Come on. You cant really fault Phil for wanting headlines, it's his job. He is a talk show host, the people he has on are supposed to be headline grabbers to get viewers. What happened with Brendon is exactly what people tune into see.Dr. Phil is a supposed professional, I blame him about wanting the attention way more than I blame Nick.
Because he volunteered for it. Rather than seeking real counseling, in a private one-to-one setting, he volunteered to go on a nationally televised talk show to discuss it.I get that it's for entertainment and viewers but why, as a human being, put another (knowingly ill) human being under that kind of stress.
Because he volunteered for it. Rather than seeking real counseling, in a private one-to-one setting, he volunteered to go on a nationally televised talk show to discuss it.
His name isn't Xander, it's Nick. And even if he did want attention, he's an alcholic with his life spiraling out of control, he's sick, he needs help. Who cares about how he gets the help, as long as he gets it. Dr. Phil is a supposed professional, I blame him about wanting the attention way more than I blame Nick.

They must go to court, take him away from the cameras and the conventions and force him into a help facility and make sure that he follows the corresponding help steps in said facility and afterwards
No one (well, I) never said he was a bad person. But on the same token Dr. Phil should not be crucified for doing his job either. Brendon was looking for televised attention and he got it, Dr. Phil was looking for ratings and he got it. It's nothing to get upset about- everyone got what they signed up for. Brendon was a GD Twitter Trend due to the show- when did he ever trend on Twitter before? (for anything other than an arrest, I mean, not something positive)he possibly has made a bad choice by volunteering, but it doesn't make him a bad person - even if he is seeking press attention.

Mr. Pole: He wouldnt be a scumbag if people didnt continually go and and watch the scumbag's show. THAT is the real problem.
