and for whomever asked, I don't think that Spike was trying to hide something on his chest. She's seen the marks from when she rescued him. I think he didn't want her to look at his chest in general. I mean, he loves her and all, but A) it wasn't the time or place, and B) there comes a point where you're sick of being the love sick puppy with the unrequited love. I don't think he wants halfway. No touches and such, he wants HER.

I thought that was a great line though, when one of the SITs says "Then what are we supposed to make out with them or something?"

No problem, Buffy Anne. It was on Buffy's first day, and I remembered Amanda (though not her name) because of the major twist her counseling session took. (Whining and low self-esteem to violence and anger management in 30 seconds. Whoa!)

As for Spike, I was beginning wonder if he'd been trying to cut out his heart again, or otherwise self-mutilate (which would explain why he could appear more or less in control in public). He *certainly* wouldn't want Buffy to know about anything like that.

Another possibility that occured to me was that maybe the marks carved on him were beginning to change or mutate in some way, and he was afraid to talk about it...
 
I actually thought this episode wasn't the greatest, but I totally agree with The First in that it was all about the message that the writers were trying to convey to the audience. The scene with Dawn and Xander totally changed my view of Dawn. When I originally thought that Dawn was one of the potentials, it actually bothered me. It just made too much sense since Buffy's her sister and whatnot. Nepotism isn't cool. But Xander's little speech was seriously amazing. I'm just so much more in love with Xander/Nicholas Brendan than I was before. It hit me that much. Seriously, one half of my brain was going "Awwww, that is so sweet." while the other half was saying "That man is hotter than sunburn."

And I agree that Andrew was really funny in the episode. His character is getting better as well since he has a chance to redeem himself and stuff. I still miss Jonathan though...

And ugh. I have no comments on the SiTs because they annoy me so much. I really hope that *none* of them becomes the next slayer and that they all get wiped out somehow. Harshness I know.
 
Xander's speech at the end of this ep made the whole thing worthwhile. He's such a solid character, and it's about time he had to chance to have a great monolouge sort of thing. And it was so true. But maybe seeing and hearing really is his gift. If so, I'd say he's pretty good at it. let's hope for more Xander speeches coming up this season. Oh, and of course I was delighted with the appearance of CLEM!!!!
 
this was a pretty good episode. yeah, chloe was MIA this episode for some odd reason...however, from the SITs, i like molly. i guess she's a lot like me (almost always hungry :: laughs :: ) i also like chloe a bit, even though she's been in for a couple of episodes. and amanda...she's a funky girl.

as for the spike/buffy stuff...need i say anything? 😀 heck, i was just happy that spike was up and about again...until i saw him crash into the headstone...ouch.

dawn. wow, that was pretty brave of her to "hand the crown" to amanda, as xander noted. she is capable of fighting and perhaps being a slayer (or fighting beside the slayer), it's just that she sort of panics more than fighting...nonetheless, that was definitely mature of her this episode. compared to earlier times, this was definitely a good dawnie episode :: tu ::

xander...his speech at the end was very touching, very much worth seeing. awwww 🙂
 
Yeah... Clem rocked. Buffy's all "every demon in ehre would like to kill you... they're all bad." and suddenly... "CLEM! It's great to see you!" *giant hug*

and when she whispered to Clem, and then he turns to the SITs and does something weird with his face... man, I wanted to see that. what does he KEEP hidden in those skin folds?

Yeah, that was funny but Andrew is NO Vegeta. Vegeta would eat him alive!!hehe😛 This ep was pretty cool. Poor Dawnie and Xander! They are the ones in the group with no super powers, but they still rock. Amanda as the new potential slayer is great. She took out that vamp with no problem. Does anyone remember her from Freaks and Geeks?😛 😛 Oh, I forgot to mention Rona and her wit. She made me laugh when she said 'the black chick gets it first.' Too funny!!
 
I was a little disappointed when they mentioned Dragonball Z. Classic sci-fi/fantasy references are fine, but not that. I personally don't think Andrew would even be a fan.
 
I just thought of something, and if anybody knows, please tell me. Um, Dawn and Andrew always seem to be stuck in a scene together. I may just be wanting something to happen, but is anybody else sensing the tiniest bit of chemistry? Andrew is supposedly gay from what we've seen, but the writers could just be misleading us. Anybody else want, or think, something's going to happen between them? One more thing, is Andrew supposed to be the same age as Buffy, Willow and Xander? Or was it Andrew's brother who was the same age as them?
 
I think it was Andrew's brother who was their age. Andrew's probably a few years younger. but not as young as Dawn. And ew... Dawn and Andrew together? no WAY!

I kinda wanna see Anya and Xander together again though.

hehe😛 😛 I'm a big Dragonball Z fan and Vegeta is my fave character. Since Andrew is a fan of comics and sci fi/horror stuff in general, it can only be assumed that Andrew would be a Dragonball Z fan. 😎

Yeah, I think they just might be going somewhere with them. I think its kinda cute. I don't know, my brother asks like Andrew and I'm pretty sure he's straight...On the other hand, maybe I need to ask him! 😀 But, yeah, I think that its Andrew in the same grade as Warren and Jonathan because they always talked about things that happened to them when they were at school together.
 
And yet Tucker, Andrew's brother, was responsible for the dog thingies in The Prom, and I assumed Tucker was a senior, as were Buffy and the others.

I was always under the impression that Warren was a bit older (maybe because he just looks older). Didn't he show up first in "I was made to Love You"? Pretty sure, since April was looking for Warren and everyone said, "Who's Warren??"

So I guess I thought Andrew was a few years yonger than Jonathan (and thus, Buffy).....the only thing is both Warren and Jonathan knew about the...monkeys at the school play?? Is that what Andrew did? But who knows when that took place......

<shakes head> Tired....incoherent....night.
 
yeah, I always thought that Warren was a year or two older than the scoobies, Jonathan was the same age, Andrew's older brother was the same age, and Andrew was a year or two younger

Tucker was definitely a senior with the Scoobies; the reason he came up with his hell-hound sceme was that every girl he asked to the Prom turned him down flat.

Andrew refers to Tucker as his "lame older brother", so he's at least a year younger than Jonathan and the Scoobies.

Warren is harder to place. When Willow looks him up on her laptop after encountering April-bot, she says he went to Sunnydale High with them for a semester. She didn't say which one, though, in relation to their or Warren's academic level at the time.

As for the "flying monkeys at the school play", it probably happened at the replacement school after Sunnydale High blew up, and only Warren and Jonathan know about it because Andrew's always re-telling them the story.
 
I thought the episode was good, but not great. Andrew was, as always, hilarious, and my favorite part was the speech Xander gave at the end to Dawn. I thought that was a really great thing Xander did. He truly is the heart of the group. 🙂
 
It's all been said so I will not bore you with a long post.

Ok ep. Glad Dawn isn't a potential. Yay Clem! Way to go Xander - he made me cry.

Looking forward to "The Killer In Me" since it is supposed to have alot of Buffy/Spike scenes focusing on the chip.
 
they never did really explain how Spike could have killed all those people in Sleeper when he still had the chip. very weird.
 
Maybe Spike can only kill when the FE is controlling him; I'm guessing the FE is stronger than the chip or any pain it produces.

When Spike is "himself", like when he knocked Xander out of the way in "Sleepers", and got into a fight with the demon and "Red Robes" in "Help", the chip seemed to activate just fine.
