Okay, the episode started off pretty funny but obviously took a turn for the more serious.

1. I'm very glad that Andrew has been developed so much this ep
2. I'm shocked at how quickly Wood made the decision to stake Spike
3. Did anyone else think the resolution to the seal was corny? "It didn't want blood, it wanted tears." Okay, I guess I can see how it makes sense... but seriously.. Willow didn't find that out before because she didn't know the language associated with it? Gimme a break.
4. So... it seems that the entire army of Turok-Hans that we were SO SO SO prepped for aren't coming. CHEAP, CHEAP, CHEAP, writers! Arg!

I thought the episode was great! It was hilarious! I agree, and it was interesting to see Andrew develop more. I also thought the scene between Anya and Xander was very sweet. Not a whole lot happened in the plot, besides the seal being closed. I'm eager to see what happens between Anya and Xander. I'm hoping they get back together. 🙂
 
I loved <u>Storyteller</u>! It was really funny, but then really serious at the end. I think Andrew needed to be shown the error of his ways, and I really think that they're building up his character as a possible cast member of a spin-off. Parts I thought were really funny were: the opening, where Andrew comes out of his pretend Masterpiece Theatre setting, and Anya asks, "Why can't you just masturbate like everyone else?" (or something along those lines), the vision of Andrew the genius in the science lab, the vision of his introductions to Buffy, Spike, Anya & the random potential slayer, the vision of the Trio as "gods", and the one version of Johnathon's death where Andrew yells, "GET OUT OF MY BRAAAAAIN!" (which more than likely was a reference to something science fiction-y). I think the serious ending was good, 'cause it kind of shifted everyone (read: the viewers) back to 'reality' (or, as real as BtVS gets).

Oh, and I STILL hate Principal Knifey.. damn him, you do NOT stake Spike. Or I stake YOU. *evil laugh*
 
I don't think Anya and Xander are getting back together... no matter how much I want them to. That's seemed to be very much a "goodbye" scene... goodbye sex. it happens.

I know this is going to sound like exactly what you don't want to hear, but I found the Andrew bits really annoying. He's funnier when he's a little bit of humour in an otherwise humourless episode. Although that "introduction" sequence when Spike comes in shirtless and goes for buffy (pouring cereal) was hilarious. As were his commentaries on people. He was better when talking about others, or interacting with others than when he's on his own. And he was good at the end when he was confessing.

Wood was scary when he went to dust spike. I mean... split second decision? I sure hope that was hellmouth influence! And I think Spike's starting to catch onto SOMETHING... aside from the raging hostility. I think he's starting to realize that there's at least SOMETHING that Wood's pissed off about.

ooooh... and when Buffy was fixing Wood's cut... he's all "slower" (because I want you touching me, oh yeah baby) but shite... when he went all evil and was said "You screwed the vampire, you WHORE!" scary...

And did that boy REALLY blow up? that was sick.

I think something that needs to be explained is why those five students in the basement were turned into bringers. Do they REMAIN bringers? (by the way, that WAS a funny Andrew part... "Bringers, who manage to be agile considering they're blind" (or some such thing)

Okay... SO Andrew had his funny moments... like when he was filming Willow and Kennedy kissing and he was more interested in the windows... speacking of which, is anyone besides me getting a "Andrew likes Xander" vibe? The way he was saying Anya's part in that conversation, like Xander was talking to him... weird.
 
Very Funny, Andrew has a pretty Active imagination, and so sad Xander and Anya seem pretty finished makes me wanna cry ::crying:: But all in all good episode!
 
I loved this ep!! Specifically for its Andrew goodness. Andrew was always my least favorite of the trio, but I've just grown to love him. I love how his character was developed in this episode, and I loved the genuine feel of the entire thing. A lot of other actors could have made the crying and the remorse seem a lot more cheesy than it was. I thought that Tom Lenk just did an *amazing* job as Andrew tonight. He really shined.
 
I thought from the previews that this ep was going to be silly and it didn't seem to fit with the seriousness of the big bad comin.

But I was way wrong!!

Thes ep was neato burrito. It was silly, but it accomplished a lot.
Wood had better sray away from my Spike!!!! I was screaming at the TV, "Oh no, you don't" I was mad.
Xander and Anya were so cute with their "I love you" scene, but I was very surprised when they ended up in bed. I felt bad because yes, it did seem like good-bye sex. I don't think they'll get back together. THey've grown too far apart.

I've actually started to really like Andrew now. Those tears at the end were really emotional. He's kind of a good guy now, I don't see him as a killer anymore.
And dancing in the fields as Gods.... so hilarious!

The only thing that really really upset me is no new Buffy next week or the week after that... boo.

What would have been cheap would have been if the Turok-Hans came out, because then a lame plot device would have to be thought up to explain their inevitable defeat.

Willow: "Buffy, I did some research on the ubervamps! They die if they come into contact with whole wheat!"

Buffy: "Quick, everyone to the supermarket!"

I mean, c'mon. Did you honestly think that they would come pouring out now? Maybe as a series finale, but even then they'd be beaten back. That's just how the Buffyverse works (though of course there would have to be a sacrifice made...there always is)
 
by the way... there's no saying that the turok-han invasion still can't happen. Just because a seal is closed up, doens't mean it can't be reopened.

Oh, you are SO absolutely right!! There has to be some enormous battle come season's end. Of course the seal will be re-opened and the Turok-hans will be back.
SMG has said she won't be back for a S8. There's only one fitting and logical way for that to happen. And this time Willow won't even consider bringing her back. It's pretty much inevitable.
Or at least that's my opinion. Take it or leave it.
 
Ok this may sound newbie - ish but what good does closing the Hell Mouth do? Isn't the first already out?
 
cool episode. i cant believe they made that guy's head explode! and i didnt even hear people scream! it's like the new generation of high schoolers is becoming accustomed to life on the hell mouth.

andrew's imagining parts were hilarious, especially the one about being a supervillain! but i did think it was kinda lame the way they closed the seal with tears, as if the first couldnt get someone else to open it up with a little blood........

and to Brandon, how new to the show are you exactly? are you talking about
a) the hellmouth - "center of mystical convergence"
or
b) the seal in the basement
i dont think the seal is the hellmouth per say, but an easy way to get into it i guess.
well, closing it could stop a whole lot more demons from coming out of there (mainly turok hans). since the first cant touch you, it's real power is in sending others after you, so cutting off the demon supply would hurt it's options.

then again, that's just my perception of it......
 
I loved this episode. But that's easy to explain: I always love stories about storytellers. 😀

To Brandon: Have you considered how things might have been if Buffy and Andrew hadn't shown up? Look at what was going on in the high school. Think of the whole thing as the good guys buying themselves some time. If they hadn't gone down there, the seal would've kept glowing and the riot would've continued.

How many sci-fi / horror shows have you seen? I imagine we could say the riot was a focusing point of evil energy or something. It would've just kept getting worse and worse so that maybe within a day or so, all the turok-hans would start getting released.

And that would just be the start, I'm sure. I mean--what do turok-hans matter when you can just mind control all the humans in Sunnydale into ripping out their own eyeballs and strangling themselves on their own toungues? Evil is as evil does.

Anyway, sure the First is still out there. But now it's been dealt another setback. I'm sure it'll keep getting dealt setbacks until close to the season finale. That's how this stuff works. (As Deviant Warlock was saying.)
 
Loved this ep. Andrew is cool, it was kinda corny, but yet it was still moving ... Wood and Spike were great as well, and I'm pretty convinced that the àœbervamps will find another way in!
 
I loved this episode! It was extremly funny as well as a huge developement for Andrew as a character. I think Tom Lenk did a fine job acting in this episode, Im impressed actually.

Also in the beginning when the pig came running down at the seal and Wood said "God I hope thats not a student" I couldnt stop laughing and thinking how much I love the continuity that they bring in.

Also during the flashes when Andrew and Jonathan dreams in Mexico Allycat and me discovered the cheeseguy and a plate of cheese 😕

Yes the cheese guy is the first! 😀
 
I loved the episode! Andrew was so funny. I loved the way, he said vampire and cruel. I also saw the cheeseguy in the flashbacks too, maybe Andrew wanted some cheese? 😕

I also like the part, when he fansty that he, Warren, and Jonathon were some Greek Gods. 😀
 
I didn't see the Cheeseman, where was he?

OH! OMG it was SO funny when it was the flashback to Two To Go. Willow had the exact same lines but Andrew's were totally different HAHAHAA

I really enjoyed the episode, and I think it may become one of my favorites. I expected a lot of light-weight Andrew humor (which I enjoyed), but I was really impressed with the character development that unfolded.

On thing I found a bit ominous, though. At the very end, when the *real* Andrew, not the Storyteller, is talking to the camera and saying he probably won't survive the apocalypse -- he's being realistic here, I think -- and he that probably shouldn't. Then, in mid-sentence, he just stops the camera. Turns himself off.

Is this forshadowing yet another suicide? Or maybe a "redemption death"?

Of course, now that he's "found himself", he may be the one picking up the pieces when the apocalypse is over...
 
I guess that I'm the only one that really didn't enjoy this episode. Andrew can be funny, but in the ep he was too whiny. I hated when Buffy was about to tell everyone about her vision and then Andrew walked away. Arrgghhh!!! I wanted to see everyone's reaction. The best parts of this ep were when Buffy, Wood, Andrew, and Spike were at the high school fighting, Wood was about to stake Spike and a student tackled him before he could do it, and seeing what Andrew and Jonathan were doing in Mexico. That's my opinion.😀 😀
