I liked seeing Buffy goe toe-to-toe with the UberVamp at the end. That was cool.

There were a lot of interesting little asides: Buffy saying "Welcome to the Hellmouth" to Rona, the Slayer the First is imitating is of course named Eve, and there were more but it slips my mind now.

I hate waiting two weeks for the next episode.

I thought the episode was okay. Andrew was so funny in the episode. I liked the part where Buffy gave him a jar of holy water and Andrew hug the jar of holy water like a teddy bear.

OH! I forgot one of the BEST lines:

Andrew: I'm bored. Episode One bored.

I thought that was hilarious.

You'd think that some things would be explained to the SITs. for example, that if Buffy dies, one of them is NOT called. Faith is the technical Slayer. When Faith dies, one of them will be called, but not when Buffy dies... (again)

Notice that part when the First/Eve was making the other SITs all antsy? Some other SIT says "If Buffy dies.." and Eve says "When. When Buffy dies. (pause) I mean, everyone dies sometime, right?"

And with the whole mindspeech thing. I don't think that Willow can read minds. I think she was kind of... opening the connection. She spoke to Buffy first if I remember correctly. And then once Buffy accpeted the communication, they could speak in their minds. The part where Xander jumps with "What?" was funny too.

Kennedy with the crossbow was cool though.
Buffy: You sure you know how to use one of these things?
Kennedy: since I was 8.

I think that Andrew is pretty much good now. Trust needs to be built and all, but I don't think that he wants her dead or anything.

Oooh... that demon guy who opened the portal... that line from Giles was great. "How about, you open the portal, and the Slayer won't kill all your clientele and burn down your establishment."

Is there no episode next week?

I became very very afraid after realizing I actually get all the things Andrew says...

LOL! I think it's funny that they make Andrew speak like this, because Joss knows a good portion of the audience gets the references. I don't think getting the references is the scary thing...it would be scary if you talked like Andrew!

Yeah, Faith crossed my mind, too. She's been effectively dormant, in prison, for the past couple of years, and theoretically she's the "real" slayer, since both Buffy and Kendra did actually die. Maybe that caused a "forces of good" power vacuum to build up or something, allowing the First Evil to step in.

Even if it's Buffy the oracle was referring to, it might not be coming back to life that was the issue. What about saving Dawn (The Key)? Or indirectly getting Spike to take his soul back? Or not killing Willow when she was evil?

Also, I got the impression from Giles' and Anya's conversation after they'd consulted the oracle that we hadn't heard everything it told them...

Ok, can someone please email me a summary of the episode, I missed it! I want to kill myself for doing something stupid like that!!! So if someone could email it to me at satine_catie@hotmail.com I'd love them forever and ever. Thanks bunches.

FE can shift into Buffy because Buffy died in Season 1.

one thought: Maybe Buffy's death, but being brought back to life and the calling of Kendra (2 slayers) is what caused the imbalance, which is what let FE appear in Season 3.

The dying didn't cause it, but the living did, the ressurection did, that's why Anya felt responsible!

Btw I loved this episode, Kennedy was marvelous! ... I think she has a shot at becoming the next slayer, either she or Ronna, because I noticed one of the first things, Buffy said to her was "Welcome to the Hellmouth" and their was a lot of focussing around her.

Me too off course, but if you want to discuss this, go to this thread Buffy/Angel Discussion Forum » Buffy The Vampire Slayer » Season 7 »

I guess that's why I'm still tentative about Buffy's coming back to life (twice) being how the Slayer "caused" the disruption the First Evil took advantage of.

I'm not disputing the seriousness of the cosmic forces those events must have unleashed, but in both cases Buffy seemed totally passive: Xander gave her CPR the first time, and Willow and the Scoobies used a resurrection spell the second. Buffy herself didn't "do" anything.

I could be just be arguing semantics here, but the wording might also foreshadow a wicked Whedon-twist around the corner...

Liked the ep alot. Lots of funny lines...like "episode one bored" and "come back when you are a leper". i felt the plot was advanced a lot in a way that I wont realize until the very end. Giles still didn't really touch anyone. Anya came close after they got out of the portal, but did she really touch him? Like most everyone else I really like the telepathy scene. I wonder how long they have been able to do that. I mean did Buffy know she could do that? Or did she just think she would give it a shot. One last quick question... what happened to Kennedy's accent? In 'Bring on the Night' didn't she have a terrible english accent? Off to bed. Goodnight all!

I doubt the resurrection had anything to do with it, they're just trying to throw you off. The FE was around in Season 3, way before the resurrection. It tortured Angel the same way it tortured Spike. It just didn't have an UberVamp buddy.

Nor was it planning on killing all of the SITs in the world. That's a new thing. I'm not sure the resurrection thing is meant to throw us off. I just hope there's another way to restore the balance besides killing Buffy, cuz that would be lame.

Molly and Annabele were British, Kennedy isn't!

The Eye of Blahblahblah said that the oportunity only recently presented it self, so the First was here for a different reason in S3!

But at the same time Giles was with Anya, the first was being Eve (?). Can it be two at once?
