Ok there are countless different threads all over the boards about the same thing so if we could keep it all contained it would be greatly appreciated and it will stop me blowing a fuse.

Joss's has within the last 2 hours posted at the Bronze Beta

He needs all the fan support we can muster right now. But that aside , my own gut feeling is that a) support Mutant Enemy and Joss in whatever direction they want to take next. Wheather that be bringing closure to the ATS verse this season , or B) To support Joss in selling the show to another network , even if it is only for one more season if thats what he wants

The only good thing to come out of this whole ordeal is the mass of fans that are now coming even closer together. I was in the midst of the whole X-Files mess, when the show ended, and later when they took down our message board, and all the fans -even ones who had never gotten along before on the boards - seemed to come together to celebrate the one thing they all had in common: a love for something great.

I feel like I've been punched in the stomach....I just popped on for a few minutes to see how things were, and this is the news I got---I feel silly. It feels strange to feel this kind of mourning for a show. But, I've always felt partial to the Angel series, even more than Buffy, and the possibility of the end of the Jossverse saddens me greatly. I'm almost speachless. Plus, it brought all of us great people together and that's a plus 🙂 After YEARS of interviews and watching the show, and DVD commentaries, which I just got through watching from my Season 3 DVD when I got the news, I feel like I know the cast and crew and that's what makes this whole thing even worse. Angel has a feeling to it that most shows only dream about. It would be a shame for it to end this way....

I had the same thing happen to me, Jacklyn, I came on, and this is the news I see....I went from denial to anger to sadness, all in about 2 seconds....then back to denial..I can't believe this could really be the end of the Jossverse, I don't want to believe it...I think I may have to crawl into a hole in the ground and never come out after Angel is over... ::crying:: ::crying2:: ::crying:: ::crying2: ::crying:: ::crying2:

We'll never forget Joss, or the years he spent giving us these amazing shows!

Mourning over a TV show ain't nothin to be embarassed about jacklyn! I remember how I felt when this one really awesome book series i was reading ended...like some other ppl said, i felt like i really knew the characters...then they were gone!

I may not feel as strongly about the ending of Angel as the rest of you...if there is any way on earth to keep the show on air, count me in to see it through!

Wallpaper

I just posted a "Renew Angel" desktop wallpaper in the gallery section in the wallpaper folder. I would have liked to have posted it or a link to it in the forums but I am still new and cannot post links yet. Hope people like.

Someone tell me exactly what the hell is going on?? Please?
I dont understand why they are axing it!! ::crying::
I only just found out yesterday!!!! ::disturb:

Yeah, why are they cancelling Angel anyway? That's something I would like to know.

Oh and don't feel embarrassed for crying over missing Angel. Even actors will do that, for example: 'Elijah Wood aka "Frodo Baggins" on Lord of the Rings trilogy cried after finding out that the "Return of the King" was the conclusion of the films. He was saddened to know that they all wouldn't be doing anymore of the films. He really loved doing the role of Frodo Baggins.

So you see, whatever it may be, a television show or a movie. Even the cast members become heart broken. So it's nothing to be embarrassed about. I even felt like crying when I heard they were going to cancel Angel.

What 'we' did to help SAVE Angel: My Mom, Sister and I sent a post card to Jordan Levin through snail mail. Postcards are available at: SupportAngel.org. And then we emailed him as well at: faces@thewb.com. And we also signed every petition there is out there. Hopefully we can stick together to fight for our ANGEL!

This is extremely disappointing, not only for the fans, but for the cast and crew. I've read Joss's resonse on the Bronze Beta Archives and boy is he miffed... and I'm not surprised. Looks like they got stuffed by the WB, and WB had the cheek to say they gave him the professional courtesy of knowing it would end in advance!

Lets hope that UPN pick it up, even if it is for one last season.
::devil::

The thing is, they really didn't give them much time at all-they already had up to Episode 17 planned from what I see in Spoiler reports, meaning they will have 5 episodes to wrap that story up and give us the ending the fans, the characters and the show in general truly deserve.

I must have been under a rock the last couple of days. I didnt find out about this until this morning on MSN entertainment. I agree that it was like a punch to the stomach, it's made me absolutely sick. This season has really kicked some butt. I am really peeved with the WB, what's next? Charmed cancelled? Right now I would love to tell them to take their "frog" and stick it, but that isnt going to help. Hopefully either UPN or TNT will be smart enough to take Angel on. The really sad part is.... I had to tell my son about it, now he is upset over it. He loved to watch Buffy (the show ended) now Angel is getting dusted. We will definitely be sending our postcards in and signing petitions in protest.

Wow, you spend a couple of weeks offline and look what happens? I'm going to straight up say that this is not fair whatsoever, to the fans, to Joss, the crew, and to the actors, especially the new up and comers who got their break on the show (Andy Hallet, J.Augustus). And they have very little time to wrap things up, I am so pissed off now. I also have that punched in the gut feeling.

I hope it does get picked up by another network but I don't think it will. I'll just have to go and watch them DVD's 'til they break. ::crying2:
Here here...

something that has really kept me depressed about the end of angel, is that a few people have said "well why bother watching it now, what's the point?" these people obviously aren't true fans, but it hurts me, when i used to gather with these people just on those special occasions to watch angel. ::grrr::

My Feelings on Angel's Cancellation

[originally posted on my LiveJournal]

It's taken just about a week for the news of Angel's cancellation to sink in for me. On Friday, February 13th, I was simply very sad when I heard about it. It was in the back of my mind. Then, on Thursday, I watched "Smile Time" and it finally hit me. It will all be gone, all too soon.

I am relatively new to the Jossverse. Even though I've watched Buffy casually since late Season Four, I didn't tune in obsessively until Season Seven (and have since seen every episode). When I heard last March about it being the final year, I was definitely saddened. However, I was able to look on the bright side. I worship Joss, and in my mind whatever he says, goes. Therefore, if he decided that Season Seven was the right time to end the show, so be it.

With Buffy over, I turned to Angel. I had only seen a few random episodes, so Season Five is the first time I've watched religiously (though I've been borrowing DVDs of the other seasons to catch up). Let me tell you, I was quite the skeptic. I never doubted Angel's quality, I just couldn't see how it could compare to Buffy, which was such a transcendent experience for me. The more I watch Angel, the more I realize that I don't need to compare it with Buffy. It is an amazing show in its own right: There are some overlaying themes carried over from Buffy, and of course there is that signature Mutant Enemy writing and character emphasis, but Angel has a different message and a different feel. And that's not a bad thing.

So once again my favorite show gets the ax right when devotedly I tune in.

However, this time I'm not only morose, I'm pissed. After reading Joss' post on The Bronze Beta, I went crazy. This is not how it's supposed to end. There are still more stories that the whole cast and crew want to tell. The fact that The WB is prematurely ending Angel based on money and some lower ratings enrages me to no end. It makes me especially angry because every single other show on their network gets lower ratings, is of worse quality, or both, than Angel. If Hollywood worked this way, there would be no independent films. Isn't it (morbidly) funny that intelligence and creativity suffer at the hands of widespread stupidity and greed?

The more upset I get, and the more I realize how much this whole thing is affecting me... all of a sudden, it occurs to me that in the few months I've been watching, Angel has already had a deep impact on me. I get excited each week to see what happens. I care about the characters, and I can't wait to get to know them better.

I know it's hard for "outsiders" to understand why the cancellation of a TV show is so crushing to us. Just imagine that your favorite movie or book of all time ended before it was supposed to, and you never found out the ending. The writer had more to say, and you will never know what that was. For a more drastic simile, it feels like some of my close friends are about to be taken away from me, never to be contacted again. And there's not a damn thing I can do about it.

But that doesn't mean we won't try. Personally, I will do everything in my power to save this show, these friends of mine. I'm fighting not only to protect what Angel brings to me; I'm fighting for every fan out there, current as well as potential. I'm fighting for the cast and crew, for their jobs, what they love to do. I'm fighting for Joss, whose amazing voice deserves to be heard, his visions seen.

Please, if you're a fan or not, help us out. Sign petitions, write letters and emails, and more. Check out www.SaveAngel.org for all the info you'll need. I know it may very well not work, and there's an overwhelming chance that we will not be able to keep Angel alive. But hey, at least we'll go down knowing we gave all we could. We were devoted to the end.

It is considered a cult for a reason, after all.
