OMG Spoiler for Issue # 12

ya this is Joss' worst moment writing Buffy IMO. It just isnt Buffy and he knows it. I dont know why he would go and make Buffy doubt herself all of sudden. Good thing SMG doesnt read Buffy comics (atleast I dont think she does) since she would totally be against this probably.
 
Um,Primal,exactly why is it a disappointment?

If you now lead-if not in person,then in spirit-nearly 2 thousand slayers(when before there were only 2,at most),I'd think you would certainly worry about those new slayers,hoping they'll follow your path(which isn't really likely;we've already seen a rogue slayer in the book)-as well as the consequences of the path she took when all the potentials were activated. Heaven knows,if I was in the same situation,I'D be worrying about it a bit too.

why is it a dissapointment that Buffy slept with another Slayer? Cause its not Buffy to me. I just dont see why Buffy would just now be wanting to experiment with her sexuality or doubt who she is in that department. Sure it worked great for Willow, but for Buffy not so much imo.
 
Not sure if this is a spoiler or not, so I shall code. OMG! I am STILL reeling from this. I haven't even gotten my comic yet, and omg. I am floored. I knew Satsu loved Buffy, but I didn't think they'd do it after like....however long. It's crazy. Crazy good, but crazy. Now I'm ranting because I am so happy and shocked and aghast and so many other things at once....*deep breath* Wow.

Er...I can't find a way to code. Sorry...
 
yeah, gotta admit i was totally surprised. I turned the page and there it was - Wow (to echo Buffy's words). I for one did not expect that development. I'm intreagued as to how they moved from Buffy being flattered but rejecting Satsu's advances (in the previous issue) to the two of them hitting the sheets together (in this one). I can understand what Primal Slayer is saying though, that it is a bit out of character and i can't imagine televisionbuffy making this particular choice, but hey - a girls gotta do what a girls gotta do. My first thought was that it smacked of cheap titillation for no particular purpose and then i started to think that there probably is a purpose behind it - either satsu will bite the big one or she'll be the traitor. I eagerly await more (not Bufsu scenes, more story!)
 
Oh yea, I did the whole, jaw drop, blink several times...

It's one of those things that you might have considered for a second after the last couple issues with them in it, but it was more of a "maybe... naaah" sort of idea...

I'm still stunned lol

I get that,but I'm talking more in the general sense of overall doubt-not the fact that she decided to be bed buddies with Satsu or to see what her sexuality is.
 
I don't know if I like the whole gay for one day thing, I mean I'm not one of those fans that'll protest the comic or write hate mail to Joss no, but I just don't think it was very Buffy, but then again who am I to judge as I'm not the creator of Buffy and who better to know what Buffy would do then the person that created Buffy. I personally though would like to see a gay relationship surface in the comics. Like have Andrew finally come out the closet or perhaps it should have been Xander that did the experimentation. After all when Joss was deciding he wanted a gay character, he was thinking about Xander at first but ultimately decided on Willow.

I prolly wont get my issue till Monday, but I read NYTimes and had to go over and was stunned with the panel.

As stated on whedonesque.. I was shocked a little disappointed.. and then disappointed that I was shocked and disappointed. I get that Buffy's not gay, and she needed this at this time, which is what Joss states in the interview.. but mostly I'm just a little off put by 'more hot girl on girl' because my male friends who love Buffy just love to gawk all over that, and it seems to veer into exploitative territory. Where's all the gay males? Seem to be the embodiment of a geeky Andrew.

Anyway I trust that Joss knows where he's going with this.. might feel different when I get to read the issue.

So far in the entire 7 1/2 seasons we've had what, a grand total of 2 hot(?) girl-on-girl scenes? Compared to how many half-nekkid Buffy/Boyfriend? Wow, smokin'! Maybe they should've done the whole Buffy/Satsu scene in blacked-out panels...

:O I saw this on Prez (lame I know) but I really hate this plot buffy would never sleep with a girl its totally out of character.

That was kinda my thought. It's not Buffy at all. But I'm forcing myself to have faith in Joss as to where this is going....
I love it, if only this were the show, and it were actually smg. I was shocked, but I saw this coming at the end of the last issue, I also can't wait to get the next issue.
 
I don't get where all this she-would-never and it's-too-late-to-experiment come from. Some women have been married (with children) for years, before they discover they're lesbians. Certainly it's not too late for Buffy to dabble a bit.

I get that and agree but I think it's just Buffy came across as the non-gay dabbling kind. If she was ever going to have escape sex (which this seems to be) it would totally be with a vampire. Haha. But seriously I think it just seems out of character for Buffy in particular, not 20-odd-year-old women in general.
Ironically I would see Dawn as the more experimenting type than Buffy. Not that that still wouldn't shock me. Haha.

I don't know...I guess we'll just have to see where all this leads then maybe it'll all make a little more sense.

Im on the same boat. I can understand Buffy sleeping with someone to feel something. I would have picked Xander as her bed buddy. But i think the trader has been shown and its you Satsu

She may have said that in NFFY, and may even have meant it at the time, but re-watch early Season 3 (just before Faith's little "oops" with the deputy mayor) and tell me there wasn't more than just a little subtext going on there. It may well have not been intended by either of them, but I wouldn't have been at all surprised to see them hit the sheets some night after an extra-heavy slaying session.
 
This thread is now taking me to some very scary visual places haha. But I agree that there was a lot of subtext in season 3 but to me it all seemed one sided- that one side being Faith. Which is why my shock is even more so now re Buffy/Satsu. Buffy just never showed any signs or any inclinations to that way of thinking. Maybe Will's been a bad influence, sending lesbian intrigue jokes or something, Haha.
