Watching tonight's episode True North right now. Emma Caulfield is playing the blind witch in Hansel & Gretel. She doesn't have near enough screen time IMO but she looks fantastic!!

I think I've figured out why The Queen hates Snow White. Snow accidentally caused her to have a miscarriage.

I think the grudge has something to do with the Queen's real name. We saw in the Rumpelstiltskin episode that knowing somebody's true name can give you power over them... and nobody ever mentions the Queen's name. (The name she uses in our world, "Regina," just means "Queen.")
I think Snow may have revealed the Queen's true name to somebody and caused her major trouble. (That "somebody" may have been Rumpelstiltskin.)

By her thus far reaction to children, as she seems to really love Henry, and she seems legitimately hurt when when Hansel and Gretel turn down her offer to live with her. Not to mention how The Queen speaks about what she lost as if it was some heinous evil act, like her heart has been ripped from her chest. She even allures to what she loved most being gone. And Snow White herself appears to be truly remorseful of what she did in the Huntsman episode.

They're playing in the realm of real emotion here. This seems too fairy tale. Hell, we might as well just say that she hates Snow White because she's prettier.

It's a show about fairy tales... at least the segment of the show where the problem between the Queen and Snow White originated. There would be real consequences for the Queen... it would be like in this world, if someone close to you turned over all your personal information to criminals and you lost all your money, got your home foreclosed and your credit trashed, etc.

Yeah, but like I said, they're grounding every character in real emotion. Not fairy tale emotion. Your theory doesn't line up the emotions presented by The Queen or Snow White. The Queen seems truly heartbroken about what she's lost and Snow seems truly remorseful. Your name theory just doesn't match up with what we've seen from characters so far.

I don't know why a real betrayal -- within the context of a fairytale world or not -- wouldn't generate real emotions. Things work differently in that world, and different things matter.

I've been watching this show since its premiere and I love it.
After last sundays episode can I just say, I'M SO CONFLICTED! I was looking at the situation between snow/Regina through black and white googles where I felt snow white couldn't possibly have warranted Regina's hate, but now, while I understand snows reasoning behind her betrayal, I have alot of sympathy for Regina that was not there before.

Yes, they really did make her more sympathetic. I loved the interactions between Good Regina and Snow. It was really sad that it had to go the other way...

I loved the first episode of this show.I particularly liked the Evil Queen in the real world when she first invited Emma into the house and she had those red apples on the table. I think I've pretty much figured out who most people are, its just the Sheriff that I'm unsure of.
