I'm currently in S3 (for the 3rd time). Typically when I'm done with an episode I'll read info on buffyguide.com, especially to refresh my memory on the great dialogue (I'm terrible at remembering that stuff- oh, and episode titles, too!). Over there they have Dialogue to Die For (the good stuff, IOW) & Dialogue To Bury (the bad). Lots of Oz's stuff comes up under the best dialogue category, but it also is listed under the bad, too. And I notice that on BB when we're discussing episodes as well. I just think his character and his wit are waaaay underappreciated. I'm finding myself cracking up most of the time he opens his mouth this re-watching. Plus, I love Woz. Don't get me wrong, I like Twillow as well, I just think Woz captures a sort of innocence, and as a relationship is a definite foil to some of the others (Bangel, & the disaster that was Cander).

I know his character development (or lack thereof?) is discussed on another thread (I really like that discussion). I think that we see the beginnings of it on BtS, but I wish we had seen more. I'm only part-way through S8 and he hasn't appeared yet, but I sure hope he does; or in After the Fall. I liked his crossover on AtS, I wish they had done more.

Anyway, is anybody else feeling the Oz love?! :biggrin3:

I agree! I loved Oz(not as much as Tara 😛) but I do feel he was underappreciated. I always laugh at almost anything he says!! he was awesome and i was sad to see him go, but glad he's back in s8, although i don't find him as funny in this season

I sometimes feel oz is very underrated he is one of my favorites he is funny sweet and cute and he is always there. Whats not to love about Oz?

I love Oz, and think he was highly underappreciated during his run on the show. I really wish the writers would have given him better arcs so Seth wouldn't have felt the need to leave.

I love Oz! Every episode he said at least one thing that made me literally laugh out loud. Plus, hey, you can't go wrong with Seth Green!

Does anybody make any good Oz banners? You just don't see a lot of 'em.

I have been trying to make some just don't like how they all turn out lol I made two one of him and one of him and willow that I like. PM me if you would like to see them :)
I've only come across two who dislike Oz, but overall, he seems to be a character that everybody loves and rarely gets hated on. Oh, and I love Oz! He's probably the funniest character among them all. 😀

I liked Oz. He had some funny moments and i liked his role in the show. He wasn't heavily involved but his personality meant that had to be the case.

Oz is one of my favorite characters and I like Woz more than Tillow (Can't really explain why, don't get me wrong I like Tillow I just like Woz more). But in Season Eight he's too OOC for me, you have Jane Espenson to blame for that.

Along with Giles and Faith, Oz goes down as my favourite character.

I do think he was't appreciated/developed as much as he should or could have been. I have this theory that Buffy and Oz were always much closer than was shown on screen and it's my AU favourite friendship. I think there was so much between, purely platonic, and that should have been more prominent.

He was one of the most genuine characters the show had and I love him!

I never got the same vibe regarding Oz and Buffy. When he went with her on a patrol they got along fine but Buffy knew it was for forced reasons.

Not sure if he is underappreciated or not, most people seems to like him.

But I think this thread is fun because I just started to watch season 3 again the other day.
And after watching the first 6 episodes or so I was actually thinking about how brilliant the character of Oz is.

Oz has always been a favorite of mine though, but seeing these episode somehow reminded me about it again.

Kind of but she was being all soul sucky at that point anyway. I love the scene when he goes looking for when Amy turns into a rat.

I said this in another thread but I really did see so much potential between them. And, even though it's not the show, the stuff 'Oz' writes in the Sunnydale Yearbook has always reinforced my theory.

Oz looking for and finding Buffy the rat was great. Her reaction when she realized she had no clothes on was amusing. "Hi Oz":biggrin3:

What did he write in the yearbook out of interest?
